Hey there from Poland from another owner of a CLX700. Clx has a "kawasaki" er6 engine which CFmoto had copied. Same displacement, but shorter stroke. On the contrary MT800 (IBEX in US) and NK800 do have a KTM LC8 heart.

It happens you are the second clx700 owner youtube suggested to me with the same issue. I dont even own a cf moto. But apparently a known issue nothing to do with the exhaust. Enjoy the bike.

Thanks for posting your problem. I've been dealing with this problem since October 2022. The CL-X motor is actually from Kawasaki although they did/do have an agreement with KTM to make engines for their bikes. That code P06069.4 is/was an unknown code and not originally believed to be the problem that fixes the Cruise Control issue. The dealer swapped out my ECU only to have the problem return. I also swapped out the Gear Sensors several times removing the copper washer only to have the problem return again a few weeks later.
There was an updated kit of some 20+ parts including a completely designed Transmission Gear Sensor, Reverse Gear Sensor and a new case that houses it in front of the Shift Drum that is dated January 2023. When my and dealer and I spoke to their CFMOTO tech rep in Minnesota telling him I had found a single photo of the kit on an Italian Facebook post he said he had no way of finding out about it. He moved to a different position in the company and within a week of the new tech hearing about it and my situation the parts kit was installed. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem for me.
As your dealer did the work under the bike's 2 year warranty you might want to pass along this information. Here in NY before that 2 year runs out there is an Extended Warranty available through CFMOTO that covers an additional 4 years for only $580. You should look into that as well. I have posted many short videos you can show him or make your own but you are correct in observing that it happens more frequently as ambient temperatures rise and only in 6th gear above 65mph. I've just hit 18,000 miles most of which were in the colder months here in the the Upstate New York Catskill Mountains so discovering that replacement parts hadn't worked wasn't immediately possible. During the warm months I have had to stay off the Thruway where extended higher speed riding recreates the problem.
A disappointing issue with CFMOTO is that their global websites are not universal or cohesive in that depending on the country the model changes from 700 CLX to CL-X700, CLX 70 and almost every possible combination of spacing and dashing. Discovering this led me from a simple search to spending hours searching for information with all variants on facebooks group and online forums. Though yours just popped up while answering a comment on one of my videos, obviously I didn't find you or I would have commented sooner.
The moderator of the US owner's group on FB took it private and after sending a memo asking why he'd want to hide this valuable data/info from anybody, especially if CFMOTO had a secretary somewhere scouring the web for good or bad press I didn't get a response. Not long after that I started posting updates on this issue to the "CF Moto CLX700 owners" grou and and both explaining that people were losing midrange power because they removed the catalytic converter and a changed to open mufflers resulting in a loss of back pressure and then asking someone why they would potentially risk voiding their 2 year warranty because there was no "official retune" available, that moderator started deleting my all my update posts within minutes It was also amusing that as soon as he specifically made a separate section to sell parts and other items and warn of possible removal from the group, people with shops in the Philippines started offering non CFMOTO bikes and gear. My last attempt to say that the updated kit didn't work and offering my grandmothers underwear for sale was pulled instantly and resulted in and him disabling direct messaging.
I can say that so far CFMOTO has had my dealer replace both sensors multiple times, the complete throttle assemble, the entire wiring harness, and the update kit at no cost to me. Unrelated to the Cruise problem they have also changed the Fuel Sensor which was reporting less fuel than was in the tank, and both intake manifolds because the bike idled high when they rode it into the shop to change the Fuel Sensor also under the warranty.
Because I rely on the Cruise due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and I just don't want to stay local another summer, with the dealer's understanding and agreement I have filed a Lemon Law claim. I really don't want another bike and because I'm able to put a lot of miles on, I'd like to be the guy to test out their fix. But at the same time if they offered me the 2023 blacked out version I'd like to be the guy who makes a test ride to every dealer on the East Coast telling and collecting stories and data to share with them. It would be ever nicer if they covered gas and tolls.
If you hadn't heard, in January of 2024 they announced their 51% to Yamaha's 49% partnership to make and sell bikes in China!!
Keep up the good videos as the more CFMOTO and prospective buyers hear from us, the better they will become.

Thank you for the reply. I love comments like this. I will say the issue is fixed but now I have a new issue since I've posted this video. Now as I'm on cruise control in 6 gear, the bike display will randomly change to first gear and it cuts and cancels my cruise control. If I put upward pressure on the gear selector with my foot it goes back to 6 on the display.

@@dakotajiverson21 Thanks for your reply. I have some pretty good news that I'm 99.9% sure that the Cruise Control Gear and dying on the highway problem is fixed. I did 300+ miles in the rain on Thursday and had no problem with it. I haven't posted a video yet because while the temperature here in Upstate New York was 84°F when I started out, by 120 miles in I forgot to consider that the elevation had changed to 1300ft as I headed North and along with the rain the temperature had dropped by 10°. I told the dealer to hold off calling CFMOTO because Wednesday is supposed to be 94° and I'm heading East for another run to call it fixed.
I will be posting the results in a video as soon as I can which will be including photos along with screenshots from both runs because I use the free Speedometer Pro app that shows travel speed mileage including the dips when you hit the brakes with a map on a graph . Feel free to check my YT Channel page for my email address if you'd like to contact me by email or phone. I'd be more than happy to send you all the part numbers for what they covered under warranty that you should have your dealer address.

Do not let other people make you feel like shit! I spent too much of my life thinking other people were better, more knowledgeable, richer, stronger, etc. And some are, and it matters nothing to me now. 😀

Keep the videos coming, actually very informative. I'm thinking about getting one, I'm just wondering how well they handle on the trails.

You shouldn't be offended by that monkey from the dealership. The bike is yours, if it's compatible do whatever you like it. My GSXR K4 has 69,000 km on the clock with a custom exhaust and an unknown history, works like a dream after so many years. If the computer and sensors detect different readings from what they expect it can throw codes, yes, not sure about completely shutting off(depends on how the firmware for the ECU is written). But a random guy insulting you is just dumb on his end, if he was a normal person he could have told you to try and put back your original exhaust and test...

Jeremy, how is your bike vibrating? Are you satisfied/dissatisfied with vibrations of a parallel twin?
Cuz mine has firetorch cat and a stock exhaust and it is vibrating as hell(( My hands are getting num after 40-50 minutes of driving.

Good question. So there are zero vibrations in mine. I have stalk grips. If I feel the metal tips at end of grips, then there are immense vibrations. I assume these are vibration absorbers. Does your have them metal tips on grips?

Isn't it as easy as not using cruise control? My bike stopped once in a highway and I am lucky to be alive
