No matter how much time passes, Milo always killed it as Jess. He always understood the essence of Jess whenever he would come back. He played him so well no matter how brief he was in the show.

Dean was sweet and protective (back when he was actually a good character), Logan was her grown-up, adult relationship, but Jess... Jess truly made her a better person. He pushed her, and never let her get away with throwing her future away. He loved her as she was, but called her out to be better because he always saw what she could be. Yes, in high school he could be a flake and a jerk. But by the end of the series, he was the best guy. He was the one.

This. This is the best take on Jess. Because he WAS a screw-up in his youth, but that doesn't mean he was a bad person or that he didn't grow. He and Rory just met at incompatible times in their lives. Or his life, more accurately. But he got his crap together, and in my opinion he never gets enough credit for it. Liz screwed him up so much, and nobody can be expected to overcome their trauma immediately just because they're in a better setting now. Luke was what was best for him, but he couldn't undo everything overnight. Jess still had some growing pains to get through, and he's done it.
Jess knows what makes Rory truly happy. Too bad he was an awful communicator when they were younger while they dated. Otherwise, they probably would have never broken up. Oh well. At least the Revival reveals that there's still hope for the two. Hopefully, another 15 years or so doesn't pass by before they end up together again.
In my mind they end up together. I think Logan is the baby's father, and he ends up being like Christopher, and when Rory finishes her book, she goes to Jess to print it, and they get back together then, they get married, and they have at least one kid of their own.
I don't think they'll continue the series but just his gaze right there and Rory not being with Dean or Logan means that Jess and Rory could get back together, maybe. Man. A girl can dream.

She left him for someone else and he keeps dating every so often. After 5 years he’s with nobody long term. He still thinks of his ex gf. He’s a doctor. You would think he meets interesting people and he does. The ex gf was very sexual and had a warm personality...I think in some cases people never find the right person again.
And this is why I'll always be team Jess! Dean was the perfect first boyfriend I loved him, Logan was her entering the world of her grandparents and trying it out and he was great too, but Jess , putting aside the dumb young things he did while dealing with his demons, was the best one for her, he made her go back to Yale, he told her to write the book, he pushed her forward when she was stuck, he is her soulmate and to me they are endgame!
Everything that happened between them indicates that they’re bound to be together. Dean has his own family and doesn’t have feelings for Rory anymore, Logan is marrying another woman and it’s obvious their relationship is nothing but physical. Jess is the only one who still loves her and cares about her. He still makes her better (e.g. inspiring her to write a book). Obviously the story ends here just because ASP didn’t want to end it the traditional way. Now that Rory is pregnant (99% Logan’s child) the cycle is gonna be repeated. Logan = Chris, Rory = Lorelai, Jess = Luke. I’m convincing myself that this is true otherwise I would not be able to live normally lmao.

Am I the only one who thought that Rory was very awkward in this scene with Jess? Her body language and voice didn't feel like excitement to me. I mean, I DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH Rory and Jess romance, but this scene her acting was just not convincing to me...
that is because they dated in real life and had a heartbreaking break up seeing each other face to face like that is very awkward
