  • On April 25, 2023 I Rode my Bike 77 Miles on the Unofficial Full Pinellas Trail Loop. My route is close to being what they have in the plans.
The last parts require some road riding which I will recommend to do one the weekend instead of weekdays like I did here.
I start off with the weather and wind being Great but, by the end the wind picks up and crushes me.
7:30 I show the safest route to get passed Boot Ranch in Palm Harbor where a lot of people get lost. The Bridge won't be put up until 2025 and we have to find our own route.
14:45 The Signs Pinellas Trail puts up when there are problems.
15:16 Crossing in front of John Chesnut Sr Park.
16:10 The Start Of The Time Warp Ride
18:55 Passed the Chimp Farm and Mile Marker 34 at about 15 miles into the ride
    19:30 Back To Time Warp
20:20 A cyclist Zips by me at Crystal Beach Rd and was going pretty fast but, that challenge there to Tampa Rd is one of my Favorite Challenges on my Strava.
21:00 I Pass the Publix parking lot at Curlew Rd and Alt 19. It's a good place to park and ride the PT Loop.
    21:34 Passing Weaver Park
21:42 Mile Mark 26 and Downtown Dunedin
22:55 I show the way in downtown Clearwater
23:33 My 2nd GoPro Battery dies so, I decide to talk about the water fountain in front of me that I got a lump in my throat from drinking the water from before. I will suggest not to drink from that one fountain.
    25:18 Back Into Time Warp
26.07 Approaching Ulmerton...Wait For it! LOL
    27:18 Long Bayou Footbridge
27:38 Taking a Break passed Mile Marker 9. 40 Miles Into The Ride.
    28:22 Back Into Time Warp
30:00 I stop at the Old Pinellas Trail Start at Demens Landing in St Petersburg Florida 49 Miles into the Ride.

    35:26 50 Mile Readout

Can't believe I just watched your all loop ride video. I've done most of it on my Coast to Coast trail ride started from Tampa. Good ride you should post videos more often. Just noticed that I wasn't even subscribed anymore but I'm now. 👍 P.S. that girl was sun bathing naked... maybe. That computer info girl had really annoying voice it would drive me crazy 😅

Wow! I can't believe you watched the whole thing. Thanks for watching it and for subscribing! I appreciate that! That makes me feel good because you are excellent at sharing your bike rides and journeys.
I know you have ridden the C2C. I've seen a lot of your videos and they are GREAT! You stayed in that cheap motel where they left a light on for you in Weeki Wachie Springs. That's not a bad motel. I've stayed there before once.
I am still not sure about that girl in my video. I wish I wasn't filming in time warp when I filmed that...LOL. It's too hard to tell even with the video frames slowed down a lot. I will leave that to people's imagination. 😀
In your C2C Video you caught the train to Tampa and rode across the Gandy Blvd Bridge. You catching a train was a Great idea for you! I am letting you know that they are working on the "Howard Franklin Bridge" now and they will be putting a bike trail on it and it should be ready to ride sometime much later in the next 2 years. I don't know if you would ever consider that route but, I thought that I would mention it.
I try to publish more videos but, I ride the same areas a lot and I've already shared videos where I ride. I still film but, unless something new pops up or I see a new trail is about to open, then I go and film around there.
If you ever need tips or advice about riding around Pinellas County, I know this area pretty well. It's where I live and I know Pinellas Trail pretty well. I was asked to be on the board once but, I turned them down. You can also ask questions on the Friends of Pinellas Facebook page. There's a lot of people that will help there.
Hopefully soon they will start construction on the Pinellas Trail South Gap that will complete the 75 mile Pinellas Trail Loop. I am am trying to get info when they are going to complete it and I will let you know. It's probably going to be in late 2026. Once they complete the loop then we can ride safely up the East Coast of Pinellas County. It may become an alternative and more preferred route for C2C riders. There most likely won't be any overpasses to go for starters. It will save us maybe 8 miles getting up to the SE Corner of Pinellas Trail going up the East Coast too. In my video, I tried to follow what I saw in the plans except for 58th St that I rode up in Largo but, the trail is only going to be a little to West of that Street. You can see the plans in the two maps on this page. pinellas.gov/projects/pinellas-trail-south-gap-alignment-development/ Where is says the North Gap is under construction, the construction was done in May 2022. They just haven't updated that map image yet but, I am going to contact them about it soon to let them know that it's not updated yet.
I do plan on riding the C2C this year as soon as I find some time to do it. I have a new video coming that will show something that will help some C2C Travelers once they get to Jay B Starkey Park. I don't want to spoil what I have now so, I will publish the video that I am working on soon.
Thanks again for watching and subscribing! Keep up the good work that you do on your videos!

@@Phonamana yeah, the sheriff pulled up behind me halfway over the bridge. Very friendly, young kid and he followed behind me to make sure I crossed over safely. Nicest one in uniform that I encountered.

I didn't want ride into Tampa. My map showed the bridge to be a highway not an interstate. Therefore, it gave me the opportunity to cross the bridge.
