Insect eating bats eat them by the literal tons, and seed dispersers regenerate forests unlike any other creature. Here Merlin Tuttle scrapes the surface of amazing world of bats.

My Grandfather had bat houses set up in our orchard in the 1950s. I have always loved them, and I so appreciate the work you do to teach others how wonderful, important, and endangered they are.🖤🇨🇦

I agree but honestly sometimes that's the only way people understand or start to consider. Think about bees, once it became an economic threat suddenly only the commercialised bees were saved while native pollinators are suffering still.
Merlin, I hope you have someone special you are teaching your amazing level of knowledge to be able to pass the torch when you retire or can't do this anymore. If not please start now. You are a national treasure and the world needs your kind sir.

I live in TN and just recently heard you on Joe Rogan. I knew bats were important but wow! You've inspired me and my 9yr old son to build some bat boxes of our own! Great work out there spreading awareness!
