Quick question just starting out with pike fishing, I like the idea of the up trace but does the run ring pull through the the swivel at the top of the trace ok when a pike runs?
The running lead will be above the up trace, so there is no chance of a snag up on the trace. I use lead clips, like the carp anglers, so it sits above the up trace and the line runs very smoothly through it
@@derektalbot4887 the running lead has to go over the second trace swivel and crimp cover, so in affect there is two traces, I guess with an extra large running ring it should slide over ok :) I was just thinking a finicky pike might feel some resistance as it goes over the swivel and drop the bait. But I guess the pro’s out weight the cons.

@@bricktop561 the run ring is above the traces, it never goes down over them, that way the pike feels no resistance at all
Informative.
Cheers!
not a good idea to have a black shirt on when your trying to show people
