Nightshift - The Commodores (Drum Cover)

This is a song that has such a cool drum part. I believe Vinnie Coliuita played the original track, but I could be wrong.
Now that said, I couldn’t lay in that original part exactly. So I modified it to work for me. I think I got the vibe, but it’s not exact. Now if you want to see a great version of the exact drum part find the Grey Ghost Drummer version! It’s really good!
Anyhow, here is my version … enjoy!

Fantastic drumming Earl. You don't have to exactly replicate the original to make the song sound great. A drummer could strive so hard to be precise that it becomes too clinical and loses feeling. This sounds superb my friend.

Chad it is very hard song to nail! I had to turn the drums off to play this one … just the strange Logic beat mapping click to play this one! The drum part is too loose to make sense to me! I had to lock it down.
