    Best review I've seen for this game yet. Very underrated channel. You deserve much more subscribers.

    I remember seeing this series being exhibited as a HUGE thing at Tokyo Game Show the first year I lived in Japan. That would have been almost 10 years ago now... crazy! Surprised that after all the attention that was put into exhibiting it, it never really took off in the west until recently.
    Thanks for covering! Always appreciate your perspective on newer titles.

    Nice review man, I've been watching this game for a while now. If it ever comes to Switch 2, I'll definitely pick it up!

      Thanks! Would be great on the go with its mission style. The game sold really well, so hopefully it will.

    Short, meh story makes me think I should wait for a sale sometime.
    On the other hand Unicorn Overlord is eating up all my game time and it's story and characters are very lacking. Everything is just so cozy and addictive that it makes up for it

      True, but Relink's presentation is top notch. It easily beats all the other JRPG's this year in that area alone with how amazing each boss battle is in the game. The final boss of the game is incredible and a must play for JRPG lovers, especially compared to what FF7 Rebirth did.

    I have all characters maxed and 7 Terminus weapons built. 200 hours. Incredible game.

      It's nice to play a shorty between infinite Wealtha and rebirth, haha. (And persona 3)

    After 125 of playing this game, I would say this game was definitely worth the wait. The gameplay is phenomenal and even though the story is a bit short, the overall fun, gameplay and challenge more than makes up for it.
    I hope there is a sequel more DLC released in the future. ☺️

      It's probably one of the best JRPGs ever made and I have been gaming since 1981

    She is called Djeeta cuz that's the last 2 characters in "Fantasy" when pronounced in Japanese.
    For the story being so short, it's because of the way they tell side story events in the mobile game, they are supposed to be short. It may seem like a super epic adventure that needed to be 60 hours long, but in the world of Granblue it's just tuesday.

    Well, the story is on the short side, but you can never say this game lacks substance.

      Correct. Well fleshed out story, which most people miss the end of because they stop at the grind phase...and miss the ending. Excellent gameplay.

    Thanks for your review. I really wanted this game to be great, but I need a good story to make the purchase.

    I wish this game didnt had cooldowns, it really holds the combat back from being stellar
    Its just not an engaging thing to put into a fast paced hack n slash game

    • @HellFireRPGs
      @HellFireRPGs  9 місяців тому +1

      No cooldowns? Not sure how ability spamming would work. They would likely need to rebalance everything.

    • @kermitwithamustache3885
      @kermitwithamustache3885 9 місяців тому +1

      @@HellFireRPGs a good way to balance it would be a magic (mp) bar that you build up as you fight
      That way you can’t spam abilities and they become a resource you manage manually
      Cooldowns imo take away any agency you have, no amounts of skilled play will restore the abilities faster, which isn’t an exiting design for an action game

    • @HellFireRPGs
      @HellFireRPGs  9 місяців тому +1

      @kermitwithamustache3885 I don't mind cooldowns if they're not too long, but I do like the idea of perfect dodges and blocks cutting the cooldown time.

    • @glenmcl
      @glenmcl 9 місяців тому +1

      The Cooldowns are fine. Sigils can reduce it.

    • @glenmcl
      @glenmcl 9 місяців тому +1

      It's not a hack n slash, it's an action JRPG.

    JRPGs or JRPG developers are in a place where they think ARPGs are needed because new audiences don't have the attention span they used to in the past. Everything has to cater to instant gratification, spectacle and rush. Movies have even changed their format to cater to this. It's probably best for these games to just be action instead of trying to squeeze a plot into them they know they will rush through as the gameplay is the main draw. Or maybe the gameplay is the team's strong suit and not story. They've always stuck to exposition through text being a mobile game and likely have no experience trying to actually tell a story otherwise. I like more than just gameplay, so I'll skip this or wait until a deep sale.
