Love it. I just started fly fishing/studying the craft, and you guys already have me wanting to start tying flies. Just promise not to tell my girlfriend how much I spend on your website these next few months.
I got “Game Changer” at your recommendation and it’s the most interesting book on fly tying/fishing I’ve ever read. I’m terrible at tying flies but even I can tie this one! Using new, non-conventional materials make tying so much easier and yield flies that actually look like food. I can’t wait to try some of these new patterns out on the water!
It's a pretty easy fly to tie and is the best imitation of a Cranefly that we have seen. Glad you like the book....it is AMAZING. Stay tued and stay in touch.
Ever since I got interested in fly fishing my search history looks really suspect. Sili skin, ultra chenille. Euro Nymphing! I have to go in incognito mode if I want to see any of Galloups flies. 😂 thanks for the video! I hope to tie one of these up someday.
It really does look good. up until now, my go to was either John Barr's Cranefly Larva or the Candy Crane- which was my best producing cranefly ever. A pattern by Tim Johnson
thats a great looking fly, i was wondering if you tied the thread on after trimming the sili skinyou wouldn't have to jump back and forth with it, or would it work if you just colored your wire in the back and wrap it with that
Thanks for watching. Please send your questions directly to Brian at the shop and he'll be happy to answer your questions. He can be reached by e-mail or by giving him a call.
We nicknamed the crane fly larvae a "Wobble Worm". How would you tie this in a fashion that would allow it to wobble in the current? We would use a salmon egg hook to hook the live larvae in the head and then just let it hang in the current. Great on any trout but absolutely deadly on big trout.

We promise. Thanks for watching and thanks for the support.
I caught a trout with it today in SE Minnesota. 18F outside. 1st trout of the year. Nailed it on the 3rd cast. I will be making more. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. They work!
Really enjoyed that tying Video. No BS and very entertaining Brian.
Thanks for watching!!

This is great! While I am new to fly tying, I am going to try this out and see if I can make it look good after half a dozen or so tries. Thanks Brian
Thanks for watching.
As soon as he accidentally cut his thread I said..alright, he ties like me! 😂 Great Crane fly video.👍 Thanks MRO! 🎣
Thanks for watching!!!
Great tying!! Thanks Brian for sharing it
Thanks for watching.

Great video! Really enjoyed visiting your store a few months ago!
Thanks so much. We appreciate the support!

Thanks for sharing. Let us know if you try this one out!!!
@@Madriveroutfitters oh I have the materials on the way lol. I'm definitely going to slay some PA fish. Farmland makes for good cranefly habitat.
Nice fly Brian I will give it a try. Catch um up👍
Good luck and let us know how you do!
At 16:46 a wild bobbin appears! J/K. This fly is pretty cool.
Thanks for watching.
Well done.

It turned out really good. You have to name it. I think the name of the glue might be solar ez without the Spanish ending ie Martinez :)
Thanks for watching.
Just outstanding!👏👏
Thanks for watching!
Nice fly. I think using a different color and curved hook could make a nice mealworm imitation.
Agreed. Truefly larva as well.
Fantastic!
Thanks for watching.
are you fishing this with sinking line? good pattern for summer on the mad? gonna have to stop in and pick up some sili skin
Probably not on a sinking line as it is fished as a nymph. Feel free to check with Brian at the shop though to be sure. Thanks.
And after all that work, first drift you snag a rock and lose your fly. That thing looks real!
Thanks for watching.
I wanna see Brian in a five minute fly tying videos at some point
We can't afford him. He's too expensive.

Are you going to offer this fly on your website? I just checked, and this looks so much better than the Barr's one you offer.
Don’t believe that they have any plans to.
Will you be making these and selling them on your site?
You'd have to check with the shop on that. Not sure.
Well now I gotta get more materials so I can tie two dozen of these bad bois
Or more. This is a deadly fly where cranefly larva are important.
What thread type, weight & color did you use for this pattern?
Sorry but we don't know for sure if he didn't say. You'd have to send him an e-mail or call him at the shop and he'd be happy to share.
2:29 Ultra Thread 140 Blue Dun
What stem are you using on that Regal vice? Great Video!
Looks like the traveler but best to call the shop to confirm.
Cheers mate, brilliant. Can I get the skin in the UK. love your Vids Brian-Ray L
Sure! We ship to the UK every day! Order away. Thanks for watching.
I have a question I couldn’t find an answer to... is the tfo axiom II-X gunna come in a heavier wt than 7wt?
If you call or e-mail the shop they can answer that question for you. Thanks.
@@Madriveroutfitters ah yes thank you
Great video !! I have subscribed to your channel 😀 👍
Thanks for being here. Stay tuned and stay in touch.
reminds me of the VLADI WORM
Never heard of it but sounds interesting.
Is the shop closing soon?
Never. 26 years and going strong. Thanks.
nice one!
Thanks for watching.
How do you fish it for small mouth?
Best to contact Brian at the shop with that question. He doesn't come around these parts. E-mail and he'll get right back to you. Thanks.
@@Madriveroutfitters Ok thank you!
@Masterpiece Tools Thanks ill try this!
What color Siliskin?
Seafoam Green.....link in the video description.
Hey hey
Howdy.
You can also call it the silly skin crane fly larvae 🐛, just an idea
This was a few years ago so pretty sure he's got it named. Thanks for sharing though.
@@Madriveroutfitters how much does a silly skin crane fly larvae 🐛 cost, by chance?
@@timothyhopkins5008 you’d have to check with Brian on that. Not a fly we sell through the shop currently.
Call it "the ugly green"
Thanks but pretty sure he named it here?
