There is a quiet dignity that remains with the homes of hard working families. I like to imagine the last moments of the day as the sun goes down, dinner aromas from the kitchen and seeking a place to sit, catch a breeze, and rest after a hard, hot day.

Tarcowie!! I've not been there since the 70s....
Mum & Nanna were both born in Terowie, we had rellys run the Grocers in Jamestown...so just hearing that name bought back memories.
Took mum (who's 90) back to see the area a cpl of yrs ago.. it's sad to see what were once proud towns just let go.

@@baabaabaa2293 hi local resident. Your mum would most probably remember my dad and mum and many children. Dad (Leopold) established a mechanical workshop and maintained a property out of town doing fencing etc. It was a very hard life for them. They returned from service in Japan after cleaning up the bombs, and just abandoned by the military, nowhere to go and many little children.
We moved to Wirrabara because it was too hard for us children to go to school there, and dad worked for Murdock motors until his death.

My Grandad & Uncle Frank Stewart were both returned fellas & yes none were happy about their treatment in the Army, both wound up in Railways.
Bob was in Transhipping at Terowie..played footy for Rovers.. they had 3 teams at one stage!
The other side of the family are from Pirie & Quorn...few near you at Spalding.
      Big country, but small world!
Thanks for the reply, Ill try to get back to you soon...lve no doubt mum will have some names for you!

Great explore! I'm glad you went back to check the lizard and get that excellent shot of the front doorway from the hall. The scrub outside looked foggy. I would frame that shot. Thanks Paul!

I subscribed to this channel last week because I liked his videos better than Werner’s. Mainly because he’s alone with no other people which adds to the intrigue but when I saw the way he went out of his way to help the lizard I will be a subscriber for life.
