Do you sell any of ur findings, should start an online store or something
Love your videos, and appreciate the research that goes into the properties job well done. Big hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Do you ever metal detect the surrounding areas of your dig sites?
I love your videos and just how patient and careful you dig. 🫶🇦🇺
Love the videos. Please keep them coming.
I am 67 years old and I am amazed at how hard you work. I love these videos. I even got my son hooked. Great content!
I’d love to see a video with you talking about the pieces after they are cleaned up!
I am a retired history teacher so I love all you dig , and all the information you share.
I enjoy reading the history of the pieces. And I appreciate that you leave the description up on the screen long enough to read it!
Fantastic videos! I especially appreciate the tremendous work you do researching the history of these forgotten places. And you do a wonderful job of making viewers feel like they are there with you for the adventure.
My 4 year old daughter and I watch your channel every morning. She always says, “Dad, he’s got a few on the way out!”
Thank you for making these.
These digs never fail to be fascinating. I’m amazed that the soil is so easy to dig through.
This has become my bedtime ASMR so fun to see all the stuff he finds 😁
Cool stuff today! NZ. ✌❤🙂🤟
14:13 Thank you for not only sharing your adventures but educating us at the same time. I used to dig bottles with my husband and at 77, I am doing it again with you! Thank you.
I love a treasure hunt, and I love your channel! Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Tom!
Your digs are very professional from beginning to end!
I used to wear Buster Brown shoes. The boy's name was Buster Brown, his dog's name was Tie if I remember correctly. What an awesome dig as usual. Love the history lessons.
Dog was "Tige".
One thing that really struck me when I saw the old shovel, was how I personally take any odd metal objects to my recycling center nowadays. Our community recycling center in Tyler, Texas takes cans, aluminum cans and odd metal objects like shovels. The county sells whatever recycling they can, and uses the money to fund park maintenance. Such a surprise to see the shovel still very much intact, such testament to durability.
Man ive been watching you for like a few months now, and its really great to see how far your channel has come along. glad you guys are back releasing new videos
Thanks for watching! Subscribe to our Facebook page if you get the chance.

Great professional job discovering historical finds!
Buster Brown was a children's shoe brand during the 20's and 30's...A little dog and a little boy were their trademark... I'm old enough to remember seeing the ads and posters still in use in the early 50's.... Time flies.... I'm 75 now... No more Burma Shave signs on the road sides.... lotta things are just vague memories....💔😢
Your knowledge of bottles is phenomenal !!!!!
That bottle with the porcelain stopper is freaking beautiful
Our dogs dug up their pen in the backyard (it looked like a ton of moon craters) and they found the old garbage pit. After we began excavating so did a lot of our neighbors. The rain would show up new discoveries. Seems like just about anything was thrown away in the 1800's if it was slightly broken. Even dolls with just an arm missing. We still have all the bottles, marbles, pipes, dishes we glued back and the other things too.
I am fascinated by your digs and watching all your hard work and listening to your treasure trove of historical knowledge - like you are a bottle encyclopedia! I wonder how you determine what spot and then how you determine how deep you will dig. If you have shared that in another video, please share that link for me.
Come on Tom and Jake I know all the type of bottles! I have watched all your videos 3-4 times each!!! Need more videos PLEASE!!!
So many beautiful bottles. Love the perfume bottle. Really cool. Awesome video. Keep digging
Your work is very important to uncover the past like this is fun.
Another successful dig. As another viewer stated, interesting how you locate the site and the map of the area from 1900’s. Since I am a new follower, asking what you and team do with all the finds. Such a variety of glassware.
@Tom Askjem I appreciate the reply and work you and the team perform to find the treasures and sharing with others.
@Tom.AskjemI was going to ask the same question. I’m glad so many of the finds are going to where they can be seen by others.
I started watching you awhile back and life got In the way but stumbled upon you again recently. I really enjoy what you do because it really takes me back having spent part of my life living in North Dakota.
I just started watching your video’s. I really like how you put some information on the screen. I love learning about our history.
Seriously everything you do is professional. Videos are great, the research, is great. Love it!
Love your videos. Makes me remember back in the early 1980's in Bellingham, Washington where we use to live, a friend and I found a hillside that was loaded with old bottles from about 1910's and we would break them. We were only about 7 or 8 years old then, but that memory has always stayed with me. The older neighbor kid would go down and get the blue bottles and save them. I am thinking that the hillside was used as a dump for the small neighborhood that was started there in early 1900's. Even thou I am in my 50's and broken down, I'd still love to go to Bellingham and dig a little and see what I can find. Thank you for the videos!!!
You know your bottles!!...I fine it so amazing all the treasures you dig up...can't wait to see more...😊
Thanks for letting us come along, enjoyed it very much. God bless.
How did you become so knowledgeable about all of these old bottles and manufacturers at such a young age.
haha well i guess i had the benefit of having the internet around when i first started.. just a lot of find stuff, and trying to figure out what it was online.. and i found communities online with people who had much more experience.. and im still learning new stuff all the time.
thanks for watching! and commenting!
Wow, that grass you removed came up so easy, looks like new sod!❤ I love your videos!
Fascinating work that your doing. My father told me a story about an old friend of his digging an old bottle dump and he ended up finding a bronze cigar store indian statue. Just thought it was fascinating what could be buried under the soil.
Your research really pays off. Then the hard work of digging it out begins! Good job Tom!
discovered a sight like this once, found a lot of 30s and 40s bottles, had a blast digging that stuff up, my friends thought i was nuts, i can tell you like it too, great i can watch you, glad i found your site, i know most of the town names on the bottles and love midwestern history
Cool beans!

I like your videos I’m a digger too. I live in Oshkosh, WI. and collect Oshkosh beers such as the ones you dug in this video. Started collecting bottles in 1980 and never stopped. Keep the dirt flying! Bob Bergman

Thank you.
Kick ass hutch! Looks fun
Wow! what a cool dig. That perfume looked like a Larkin Soap maybe? And the mug base hutch was amazing. Thanks a bunch again for a great video.
Buster Brown was a Dutch boy, with long blonde hair his dog was named Tige. Buster Brown was a cartoon strip started in 1902. He was adopted as the mascot of the Buster Brown shoe company in 1904, Buster Browns were still being sold in the 1960s, the company is now called Caleres, they own Naturalizer and Dr. Scholl's among other brands.
I just love the cute little bottles. Been trying to decide if I remember the little pile vails. I’m almost 70 but my grandmother always got me neat old stuff to play with when I spent summers with her. Wish I still had that stuff
I love the pop up info on your finds, along with your knowledge and commentary. Man, I want you to help me find mine on my homestead in KS. I've got to be close. 😁
Another outstanding presented fun video.Well done Sir.

Thanks for sharing... You are a blessed young man... You love what you do....
Liked & Sub’d. I find it so relaxing watching you dig for small treasures and enjoy your calm commentary.
Nice finds, I find these videos fascinating and insightful, coming from the UK I love how you put the history of the companies or products in there it gives me some idea how you all lived back then. I usually pause to read them. Glad I somehow came across you. I take it you sell the things you find??
yeah well sell a little and collect a little and donate the bulk of it to historic societies, musuems (if its something really good) and sometimes if its too new, we just rebury it.. the homeowner usually ends up with the bulk of it, after we've picked out what we want to keepo. and thank you very much! i really appreciate that, glad you found the channel!
@@BelowthePlains that's cool that everyone could get some of it, that's really generous, some ppl may not do that
Thanks for these videos to educate and entertain us! How about a video explai ing how and why you got into this line of searching for treasure.
Your living my dream! So exciting 😀

@@BelowthePlains I did enjoy this one. Can't wait until your next dig. The little perfume was an amazing find. Love seeing the style of the old bottles and pottery that has been hiding in the pits all these years.
Tom, your enthusiasm is so contagious!! Nice work and thanks!!

God bless
That was great. Thanks for sharing it 😀
You have the best videos. Clean dig, informative . You knowledge of the items you uncover is amazing. I learn so much. Uncovering History on piece at a time.
Tom another awesome dig. Loved the Griggs Cooper bottle from St.Paul Mn. Nice back story on the depo and happy the soil was great to dig in. 👏😀👍
These videos remind me of when I'd rummage through the "trash" pit on my grandpa's farm. I will say I'm curious as to what he does with the objects he finds. Donate to a museum? Gift to the land owner? Keep them? Sell them?
Just found this channel and I am already hooked!
Very well done like always
Great work!
God that UHD looks like a movie. Great video by the way, thanks for sharing
Great finds. I like how you show the old ads. Do you ever sell your bottles?
Just found you, this is amazing!
well thank you! glad you liked, thanks for leaving us a comment! oh and i see you asked about what tom was saying in the video.. i believe you are referring to him saying "undigested seeds" as in seeds from vegetables that passed through the GI tract.. stuff like strawberry seeds, raspberries, tomatoes etc..i found out that most seeds are actually designed to be eaten by birds and mammals and then passed through the system and the excrement actually fertilized the seed, which increases its likelihood of blooming into a plant.. so thats what we meant.. i know its kinda gross but i assure you, the seeds are the only thing that seemed to not have decayed over all these years.. ive even heard that some of these seeds still germinate after all these years. kind of amazing. well glad you found the channel and i hope you enjoy! and if you are on facebook, we are just starting to post over there, so be sure to check us out "below the plains"
thanks for watching and commenting!
