We beat him alone in the flashpoint. Presumably they didn't have the commander subjugate him because they didn't want to animate another cutscene for NFU classes.
Gotta give Malgus credit. The fact that he still pushed back and it took extra help again to get him down is impressive. No wonder he made a good inspiration for legends Vader.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge Malgus sheer strength, determination and will to not be bond again, it took the Outlander, most of the jedi order and even some sith just to restrain him, that's a massive feat in itself
You can really feel Drew no longer being the lead writer of Bioware, because you might as well throw the lore and canon out the window with this crap. Containing Malgus shouldn't be a larger surreal event than the death of Revan or Vitiate. Malgus in the grand sense of power wasn't as powerful as either of them, yet is demonstrating power stronger than both combined.
I'm not familiar with the SWTOR team. Who is Drew and which parts of the game did he write? Also I think you might be overestimating Revans power because Malgus and other Sith in this timeline are pretty powerful.

She’s on par with Revan and Malak in regards to accolades in the Mandalorian Wars, but she’s relegated to being Revan’s hype man. And drew ignores alot of the things that happened in Kotor 2 because he had little to no involvement in its production. It’s like a sauce stain on a white sheet.
The thing that makes this the most inaccurate is that Satele basically did this by herself in the Hope trailer while she was still a knight. Grandmaster level Satele would have no problem doing this by herseld

Only to then pin him to a mountainside and then bring said mountain down on top of him, giving him injuries which required life-altering procedures and cybernetics to life with less than 30 seconds later. Malgus was both older and more experienced than Satele and yet both times they fought she survived, the second of which she nearly killed him outright. You do the math 🤷🏻♀️
Not really Malgus destroyed her lightsaber and was going to give the final blow but was stopped by her tutaminis. Even then you could see Malgus was slowly overpowering her. It wasn't until Jace charged Malgus and naded him in the face that Satele was able to get the upper hand. It was pretty much a joint effort between Jace and Satele. Satele herself pretty much admits she would have been defeated if Jace hadn't come to help her. Mentioned in the journals of Gnost Dural if I remember correctly been a long time. TBh all you need is the Mary Sue player character who basically defeats anything thrown at them unless the story deems it's not time yet. Defeating Vitiate + his kids in KOTEE expansions was more than enough in terms of feats to contain Malgus assuming you go with a force using class and Bioware didn't forget about all the story related buffs 😒

But what’s established in the SWTOR: Encyclopaedia is that Sateles usage of tutaminis both absorbs and reflects energy, and the SWTOR: The Explorers Guide confirms that Sateles tutaminis was creating an energy loop, absorbing and reflecting the lightsabers pure energy back into the blade; hence why we see the blade itself begin to disintegrate and the sabers crystal matrix begin to shatter. Had she continued it is highly likely, if not guaranteed, that his lightsaber (further hindered by the fact that synthetic crystals like his are prone to shorting out and becoming inoperable) would have exploded due to a massive built up of energy and the pressure causing the blade to collapse in on itself… essentially leaving the debate to determine whether or not Satele would survive the explosion of energy… which considering the fact that she (like many Jedi, sith and including Malgus) have developed high-level resistance to energy repulses with their force shields, it really isn’t that far fetched to imagine the fight would end up going the exact same way. Again, let’s acknowledge the fact that tutaminis is the absorption and redirection of energy… Malgus would have eventually had to pull back his saber to try and go for another swing to shatter her attempts to block, or Satele would have pulled off and retreated back… again leading to the same conclusion. All in all their second fights outcome says all it needs to; Satele escaped entirely intact with not a scratch on her- Malgus entire body was shattered, needed extensive full-body cybernetics in order to live and required a respirator for the rest of his life. Says a lot.

Haven't proven anything aside from acknowledging Satele for sure isn't your run of the mill Jedi and that WITH Jace Malcoms help she was able to defeat Malgus not without. I'm not sure why you think 1 encounter is enough to gauge who stronger overall in the force because it isn't. Malgus was one of the best saber duelists of his time utilizing brute strength and speed to overwhelm his foes mainly utilizing form 5 but he excelled in others. He was a master when it came to force maelstroms an exceptionally powerful technique that Sith such as Sidious would pick up and later perfect into more powerful abilities. He ravaged the Jedi temple with his force screams. He was also very much capable in usage of tutaminis. If you count this it took an entire strike team of invincible Mary Sues to defeat him in Ilum. If you count Legends Bane and Sidious give him glowing endorsements as one of the most powerful individuals not to mention Sith of his time. Those are a few examples his feats. As for the fight on Ald even if she ended up destroying his blade it's highly unlikely she'd be able to recover in time to end the fight the same way unless Jace is involved as that's what gave her an edge previously so no. Even if she did Malgus has shrugged off missiles,direct explosions and all kinds of nasty attacks thrown at him he could certainly shrug of an exploding saber more so if he protected himself prior. Thus it would not go the same way. It most likely would have gone in favor of Malgus. We're talking about a Sith who uses brute strength and rage to take down foes he wouldn't need a saber to finish the fight. Taking the encyclopedia and Swtor canon into account it's stated Malgus was more powerful than ever after the wounds he suffered on Ald in fact it probably made him even more powerful as the conflict only further fueled his hate and rage which in turn made him more powerful as that's how he channels his dark side energy. Regardless Satele herself admits that without Jace's help she would have lost that fight with Malgus if she fought him by herself. Not to mention she very much admits she feared him. Pretty much all you need to hear.

And even if they get nothing from him, I'm sure the Sith would enjoy torturing him far more than just killing him. And there was disagreement among the Sith on what to do with Malgus. Rivix wanted to just kill Malgus but empress acina/emperor vowrawn wanted Malgus alive. The members of the Sith council probably has different opinions too but the empress/emperor would have had the final say.
They probably should've had the Emperor/Empress duel him 1v1, after he's already been weakened from fighting the player. Show us exactly why he feared them.
Malgus should not just be killed like this such a good character I can’t imagine what swtor would be without malgus. At least give him a prideful death in battle and not some stupid death sentence
Sometimes, i just hate devs making cutscense for plot purposes. Like the Jedi Knight Commander (Hero of Tython) is literally one of the most powerful characters in all of the Old Repiblic era... if not all of Star Wars. He is more than capable of rag-dolling Malgus around with the force, much less keep him secured in a force grip. He doesn't need Gnost-Dural, Satele Shan, Tau Adair, Lana Beniko, etc... helping him. 😂😂😂

I remember how ridiculous it looked when I played it, let me explain. I beated Malgus as the jedi knight and I was tired of always getting instant killed. Then I noticed that once my partner was dead, he continued focusing on him while I was on the edge of the combat zone. So I used my only 2 long-range attacks to kill him. Took me about 20 minutes, but it worked. So when I saw the end cinematic showing Malgus defeated like if it was an epic fight, I just laughed

You're supposed to accept Acina's offer to rejoin the Council instead of keeping the Alliance independent back when she invites you to Dromund Kaas or sometime around the second visit to Iokath. Can't remember exactly but you definitely missed it.
Nah i wasn't a fan of this scene , our force characters have proven to be stronger than malgus multiple times and yet apparently we need help to restrain him. nah i don't by it, we could have done it alone. they just trying to make us look weaker in comparison to our enemy even though we just beat him.
Not even trying to be funny, but this is why I don't play SWTOR any more. From the second they stripped my companions away and the hutt called me a biggot I was out.
I honestly don't like games that have a specific ending story any most likely know what it is the bad guy dies you only have the option to be a good guy yeah you may be able to choose the dark side and some of these games but you never really truly play as the dark side and that scene if you're allowed to actually choose what you wanted to do I would have slaughtered all of the Jedi right now and there make them preoccupied with malgus

Yeah a good number required some help but our character fights Malgus like 20 times and this is the only time it took about 20 people lol makes no sense. They just keep nerfing our characters story wise to make other characters still relevant and they don't even do it in sensible ways. Like, we were basically the Emperor of the entire galaxy with better politic and military power than Palpatine, for like.. a week, and then Theron's dumbass gets the entire Eternal Fleet destroyed because he wanted to play Secret Gaygent Man instead of just telling us about the cult we already fucking knew about 🤦♂️🥴

@@hazardous8301 you get very close to being as powerful as just Vitiate, not the whole trio, as a Sith Inquisitor. All the ghosts, which the game just forgets about because you can definitely keep all of them except Kallig. Then there's both cures you take so the ghosts don't kill you. The thing on Rishi that gives them another century or two of life. Logically our SI would also go on to gain more power and rituals to make up for the loss of the fleet and if you support/rejoin the Empire you can get back on the Council where your position is head of all ancient sith knowledge or something. And yeah I know they couldn't stay that powerful forever but they just did it in such a dumb way especially if you're a pure light side Jedi Knight. Someone could have infected half the fleet with like Directive 7 or something, or found another Star Forge. Speaking of the Star Forge seed we take over is just never heard of again, nor that Rakatan in a box we get on Tatooine. I know those are side quests but dang.
@@OG-ColorfulAbyss. we definitely don’t get close to just vitiate. We barely beat just Valkorian Soul, and that was even him without a physical body. In physical form even Arcann was nothing to Valkorian, and though we definitely get stronger then Arcann, we never outclass him. Valkorian, like Vitiate, is one third of his total power, meaning he’s most like equal to what Vitiate is. So if we barely beat just Valkorians weakened Soul, we definitely aren’t beating him at full power with his own body.
No idea what happened here cause I haven't played any of the dlcs, but this looks like a classical villain being defeated through the power of friendship lol.

Uhm what? You're fighting Malgus with only 2 ranged attacks as a Knight? Were you purposefully nerfing yourself to make the game harder cuz my Jedi Knight has like 10 ranged attacks lol

You're supposed to accept Acina's offer to rejoin the Council instead of keeping the Alliance independent back when she invites you to Dromund Kaas or sometime around the second visit to Iokath. Can't remember exactly but you definitely missed it.
It's comical how it takes this many Jedi just to hold malgus ....it shows just how strong he is

Nah i wasn't a fan of this scene , our force characters have proven to be stronger than malgus multiple times and yet apparently we need help to restrain him. nah i don't by it, we could have done it alone. they just trying to make us look weaker in comparison to our enemy even though we just beat him.

I honestly don't like games that have a specific ending story any most likely know what it is the bad guy dies you only have the option to be a good guy yeah you may be able to choose the dark side and some of these games but you never really truly play as the dark side and that scene if you're allowed to actually choose what you wanted to do I would have slaughtered all of the Jedi right now and there make them preoccupied with malgus

Yeah a good number required some help but our character fights Malgus like 20 times and this is the only time it took about 20 people lol makes no sense. They just keep nerfing our characters story wise to make other characters still relevant and they don't even do it in sensible ways. Like, we were basically the Emperor of the entire galaxy with better politic and military power than Palpatine, for like.. a week, and then Theron's dumbass gets the entire Eternal Fleet destroyed because he wanted to play Secret Gaygent Man instead of just telling us about the cult we already fucking knew about 🤦♂️🥴
@@OG-ColorfulAbyss. we were never close to being as powerful as Vitiate though dude. We beat him because he was heavily weakened, and we had a shit ton of help.
And though I definitely understand your frustrations with the eternal fleet, they couldn’t logically allow our character to keep that kind of power, and continue the games story.
@@hazardous8301 you get very close to being as powerful as just Vitiate, not the whole trio, as a Sith Inquisitor. All the ghosts, which the game just forgets about because you can definitely keep all of them except Kallig. Then there's both cures you take so the ghosts don't kill you. The thing on Rishi that gives them another century or two of life.
Logically our SI would also go on to gain more power and rituals to make up for the loss of the fleet and if you support/rejoin the Empire you can get back on the Council where your position is head of all ancient sith knowledge or something.
And yeah I know they couldn't stay that powerful forever but they just did it in such a dumb way especially if you're a pure light side Jedi Knight.
Someone could have infected half the fleet with like Directive 7 or something, or found another Star Forge.
Speaking of the Star Forge seed we take over is just never heard of again, nor that Rakatan in a box we get on Tatooine. I know those are side quests but dang.
@@OG-ColorfulAbyss. we definitely don’t get close to just vitiate. We barely beat just Valkorian Soul, and that was even him without a physical body. In physical form even Arcann was nothing to Valkorian, and though we definitely get stronger then Arcann, we never outclass him.
Valkorian, like Vitiate, is one third of his total power, meaning he’s most like equal to what Vitiate is. So if we barely beat just Valkorians weakened Soul, we definitely aren’t beating him at full power with his own body.
