You take one of the most influential and historic Aston Martins made especially from the films and destroy it. That is like taking the life of one of your best friends. The Aston Martin in my honest opinion is made with absolute soul and passion. It's a shame though that some of the newest model aren't liked by others. ❤️

Love the idea that the guys inside the likely bulletproof helicopter were killed but the “big bad” somehow didn’t have a scratch on him. He was literally right next to the house when it blew up.

I saw this film on release day in theaters. I had never seen another bond film before, yet I got the idea that the car held great importance and was an Easter egg tribute to previous films. That and it just looked beautiful. 6:20 literally everyone in the theater either gasped, screamed, or said some variation "whelp this Bond villain just signed his death warrent". 6:25 everyone started cheering and shouting "Avenge Aston"
Bond movies take their time. The storylines always like to challenge your mind. The swarve and sophistication of Bond is on another level. The fights are usually good. The picture quality good. The whole thing just great. I love bond movies.
Bond before Craig was no more than pure entertainment and time pass. Craig movies gave the character more depth and sort of tried to connect with the audience more.
I love it how Bond chooses to finish him home off so it’s on his terms I know it was to survive and he says he hated the place but at least he got the “final say” or “final laugh” about it
This movie is already perfect but just imagine if the caretaker was played by Sean Connery like originally intended. It would have been out of control.
It might have been a bit too distracting I think, so I’m glad they went with Albert Finney, but in concept it’s such a wonderful tribute to the series, and seeing Connery able to play a different character in the same series would have been really interesting.
I found out a few years back that they filmed this not in the Scottish Highlands, but in Surrey in a place called Hankley Common. They built the frontage of the house in a natural valley on the common..and then blew it to pieces.
Here's some trivia : at the beginning of this scene, the second mercenary who entered 007's home, is played by Michael Pink - until Javier Bardem came along, he was cast as the main antagonist. However he remains in the movie despite not being in a major role : nonetheless the climax is a fantastic one, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson certainly deserve credit for assigning Sam Mendes in directing the episode that celebrated the 50th Anniversary since the cinema release of Dr No.
Alternative solution - when the helicopter approaches, drive off in the DB5 as a decoy while M and the gamekeeper go to the chapel. When the helicopter is directly above the DB5, fire the ejector seat to bring it down.
It’s a tragedy they stopped making bond games before this film, it had so many set pieces that remind me of great maps from Goldeneye for the n64 or Nightfire - Skyfall could be a map with loads of traps players could spring on each other, there’s the London Underground with the train crash as set dressing, the Macau Casino, Silvia’s Island, the list is stellar!
The Bond movies with Danial Craig are masterpieces. None of the "win the girl" misogyny. Silva in Skyfall is a truly complex villain, who may be justified against MI6. No gadgets to be seen. Wonderful to watch. The Bond manor house is a prop, but how wonderful it appears. Top marks for the crew.
