Thanks everyone for your amazing feedback and please keep it coming, I read it all! (Or at least try to). To answer a couple of frequently asked questions: There is a normal full tour of a Princess 56 on the channel, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/fxWLa0pgIRs/v-deo.html This boat is for sale, full details and price can be found here: www.princess.co.uk/used-yachts/used-princess-56-7028799/ Yes my camera work was rubbish in places! We considered doing it again but didn't want to lose the spontaneity of the single take first go. First attempt at this, I will try harder next time! These won't replace my usual yacht tours, but I will try and bring a few more 'Meet The Owner' videos to the channel if and when the opportunity presents itself. Don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! Really helps the channel. Thank you!! :)
Definitely keep them coming if you want and can, it was very interesting. No need to agree with every sentence the owner says, it's OK to listen and let them talk and maybe ask questions now and again, as we do with yourself, I mean this positively because you are obviously great at what you do and this will be another feather in your cap. ❤️👍
It was great listening to the owners experience. He came off as candid and honest. Not every owner is going to have his skill set but you find them, it makes the video standout
I liked this episode. It was interesting to hear the observations and advice of the real owner. It is a pity that I did not understand everything, but it was still interesting. I think this format is interesting.
Fantastic idea for the channel Nick - great to see you mixing it up. Interesting boat and even more interesting owner - really enjoyed hearing 'the story behind the boat' as much as the tour
Meet the owner are my favorite videos, not only do we get to see the boats but we also get to see the opinions and observations of the different people that own it! It's a more in depth review of the boat, the people you show us are amazing, the experience they share is awesome... What I'm trying to say is we need more of these videos!! Thank you, Nick.
Really enjoyed this one, didn’t think I would because I thought it would take away from the normal tours but actually really enjoyed it. Good video Nick.
Great content as always Nick! and to the other Nick, thank you for the invite on board. Quite the revelation to see round a boat, with all the insight's of a clearly very experienced Owner/operator/skipper.
When he said he prefers shaft drives and that he can easily turn just using one against the other without using bow and stern thrusters i knew he was a real yacht enthusiast, not just a rich guy who bought a yacht. Also the detail of toilets pre-filling proves he knows what he's talking about. Definitely has lived on board and not just went for a swim like many unfortunately do with yachts meant to be lived in. So refreshing seeing a competent owner once in a while.
Wow, very nice to hear from an owner. Great insights on things you don't normally get an opinion on and with with context. Lovely that you change things up a bit. Thanks To both Nicks.
Nice to see that someone can drag themselves back from rock bottom to being the owner of such a beautiful boat. This will be a good series if you can find more down to earth owners like Nick.
My favourite You Tube channel. Keep up the great work Nick. Was very interesting to hear about the boat from the owner. Would like to see more like this.
What a really nice guy Nick the owner is. A refreshingly good grasp on the important things in life. Obviously works hard and good luck to him and his family.
I used to race against Nick in the late 80's, in those days I used to sell boats and he sold cars, he's a natural salesman and all round good guy. How very different our lives are now, can't imagine you will have a problem sellng that lovely Princess.
Took about half way through the vid to realise this is Nick Whale who used to race in the British Touring Car Championship. What a likeable fella and lovely boat. Good to hear he bounced back well from the recession, can see what hard work can get you. Great video
two guys said they're first so I guess I'm 2nd 3rd. This is actually great. Getting the owners' perspective. This in conjunction with the usual review is a great learning experience, specially for people like me who couldn't afford any of this :D
How nice it is to hear someone’s thoughts that own the boat. He seems very experienced. I know people have their own opinions on what they like and don’t like. It was also nice hearing from someone that had to work hard more than once due to ups and downs. And the way he talked about crew and rather be just him and his family. I sold my business to be with my family more. No more fancy cars and fancy clothes etc. But being with my family made up for that. Good for him ❤️
I’m not a boat owner but I do love the enthusiasm these people have with their own boats I’d love to be in their position love watching these videos great work Nick
I have to say that this was a refreshing addition to your channel, it was great idea on your part to make the owners experience part of your channel. And seeing you interact with the owner of the boat was very nice & he seemed very informed & you can see he takes good care of his "Princess" lol. Good on you mate!! Great Episode!!!
Really enjoyed the human side to the boat ownership. A hard working guy who has had his ups and downs and allowed him to enjoy his passion. The boat tour was great.
Nick and Nick congratulations for another great video. I like the format a lot because it adds the personal touch. Nick (owner) is very humble and open minded. Nick (Aquaholic) is as awesome as in all the other video. Great JOB !!!
Great format Nick, great to hear from an owner how he managed and LOOKED after his boats very well.....plus the insight of him still boating with his family, when the inevitable recessions hit. That boat is a credit to him....in really pristine condition, especially after being in all that sun of the Med for a few years. I had my boat parked in the canal behind my house when we lived in Florida, and the sun just makes everything fade and the boat after three years looked 10 years old!
It's really interesting to get the feedback of an owner who can also run his boat and knows every inch of it. Lots of details and the reasons for specific choices. Nice guy & being so tall he covers issues that other people miss out.
A Few Thoughts: First thing... Watch it again. So danged informative! By far, one of your most enlightening, educating, and intriguiging vids yet. The problem is - you're not going to find many "perfect interview types". 8 Princesses... 30+ years of boating... Then on top of it all, he's darn near as affable as yourself Nick. SO informative, in terms of not only the 'hows' of any particular feature of the boat, but also the 'why'... "We had this, but it wouldn't do that, so we got the next one because..." THAT'S what I'm talking about Nick. Brilliant. Brilliant tour and you've actually got pretty goood interviewing skills sir! "No Reserve"... I should've picked up on the auction theme. I was incredibly proud that Mr. Whale knew of our fearless leader Nick...! The initial description of the separation of 'areas' is a perfect example, repeated throughout the video, of what made this so good. It was interesting to hear first hand knowledge confirming some opinions I've had of what's good, and what's pefered, but most importantly WHY certain things are prefered or desired. "We've got 4 fridges, which is quite strong..." I like this Nick Whale character. If he's ready to "Move on a little bit", I would love to know what he's buying next. Because you KNOW he's already got the next Princess picked out...! Absolutely shocked to hear of the "rare use" of the main helm. Really enjoyed the explanation of the difference between stabilizers and gyros. I'm betting dollars-to-donuts that Mr. Whale is buying a yacht he can actually stand up in. What a pain in the neck to be 6'-5"...! (see what i did there?) "And charged 3 thousand pounds for the privilege.." - love that he found the humor in that frivolity, albeit out-of-pocket. Love the fact he had the re-upholstery done in the Med... "Better than we'd have it done here." 35K for the rib alone...! And not a blink of the eye. Wow. And the guy knows what the heck he's talking about too...! Electric hydraulic bimini top...?!? Are you friggin' kidding me...?!? How COOL...! Loved the explanation of preferring to be an owner-operator, AND the sub-60 constraints. INSTANT credibility when you find out Princess brought him in to consult due to being a long time owner...! Wow. Again Mr. Burnham... This may well be your finest work yet...! Cheers mate!
Very nice to get a tour from the seasoned owner. He was very forthcoming and open to discuss his vessel, and I hope you can have such owner-presentations in later videos too. Best of luck. Be safe.
Once again Nick, great job. I am in the process of researching my first ever boat and preparing two shortlists. 1...The lottery winners list and 2 ... The reality check list. I have learned so much from your tours and see this new project of yours as being of enormous benefit to those of us taking our first step on the boating ladder. Many thanks also to the boat owner for his open and candid answers about practical running costs. You cannot buy experience. It would be great if you could possibly do a video about the required skills and courses available to first time boat owners before we are let loose on the high seas. Keep up the good work 👍
Well impressed with this video. Great to get the owners perspective. Must just say what a Smashin' Pumpkin the owner is too, very genuine and down to earth chap - just like you Aqua. Also, just realised the connection between the owners current business venture and his boats name. Really like that!!
Love this. Owner perspectives on value of features is a game-changer. No one else is doing this. Thoroughly enjoyed the video and I learned quite a bit. Many thanks to you and many thanks to this extremely knowledgeable owner!
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode and the insights that we received. One of the things that I like so much about Aquaholic is how Nick (B) can marvel and appreciate the boats, especially the more luxurious ones, without the pretentious arrogance that one might expect to exist in the rarefied world of yacht ownership. And for that reason, I really enjoyed hearing from Nick (W). A self-made man with an impressive track record of yacht ownership but one that was still 'normal' and relatable enough to comment on the golden chicken cooking qualities of the combined oven or the water levels in the boats toilets! The little personal touches in the cabins and living quarters, the explained opinion of the forward galley area and the 'off the shoulder' comments about putting down towels etc showed a boat that could be enjoyed and lived on without feeling that it was so precious that one wouldn't be able to relax on it. So whilst Nick (B) gives us a much appreciated insight into this beautiful world of yachts and seamanship, Nick (W) provided a window into owning and running what is probably my favourite yacht brand. When I was a lot younger and used to read my father's Motorboat & Yachting, I always felt Princess were old and stuffy. But as I've grown older and hopefully wiser, and through Aquaholic have been re-immersed into this world, I now fully appreciate Princess' non shouty class and sublime sophistication. Thanks to you both.
Good to see a boat from the owner/ user’s perspective. Especially someone who has had several boats so he is speaking from years of experience and so knows what works well for a family. Thank you for this, really enjoyable.
I find your tours and now owner interview far more interesting than the usual "salesman" tours I see. Great to learn about the shortcomings as well as the features of any vessel. You stress "lifestyle" in boat choices which is also important. The right boat is put to use a lot more often than the wrong boat.
Absolutely love the princess 56. It’s literally the perfect boat. As mentioned once you go over 60 foot a lot of marinas can’t accommodate. I will be getting one for myself next 4 years. Can’t wait
Love this format of boat owners telling their stories that intertwine their life events and experiences with their boats. Please do this more often. Thanks Nick, this was a pleasure.
If you was ever lucky enough to be in a position to buy a second hand of this size, you would want it to be off this gentleman, a clearly knowledgeable man who loves his boat. Possibly my favourite boat tour, on my favourite channel.
Love seeing humble people do well for themselves and then when things turn to shit they get back up and do it all again. Good luck to him and another great video.
It is so refreshing to hear a real owner talking about not just their current boat but the journey of boating itself. Especially when so many owners seem to want to keep it so private. Thank you Nick Whale for your open discussion and thank you Aquaholic for sharing another top notch tour and review vid!
Being a new subscriber, while this was recorded 10 months ago, I find this style of wall throughs with the owner outstanding. I especially liked to hear his thoughts of having a crew vs no crew. To live vicariously through the owners is the best I will be able live the life.
Honestly, I didn’t think I would like this video, but I truly enjoyed it!. Great insight from the owner on owning boats/yachts and the cost of certain things. If you can find as engaging owners than do more videos like this. Just make sure they have a similar energy and knowledge to you or then we’d rather just listen to you speak :)
Think this is a great idea Nick and will add more content and insight to the channel. Loved the boat, great to hear the upkeep/ upgrade costs directly from the owner. I'm sure Nick W will have no trouble finding a buyer for that great boat, and hope he gets whatever he's on the hunt for. Look forward to the next one.
What a great guy, especially how humble he was explaining his highs and more importantly honest about his low’s.. fair Play to him and what a fantastic boat btw. That is a boat to buy (if you have the dollar) as he clearly has loved and looked after it immensely..
This is a very interesting take on the owner/captain side of boats and how people like Nick Whale enjoy the the fantastic pleasures that boating gives. I was in agreement with his take on the running of the boat yourself for privacy rather having a crew. Okay to have a crew on a much larger boat but on something this size I would do exactly the same. And this is where the most enjoyment comes from. Would like to see more owner/captains videos Nick.
This was great. It seems it would be hard to get such interesting, knowledgeable owners who are great at showing off their boats. But if you can, go for it. The interesting facts about stabilizers and pods vs shaft drive and the batteries. Great first run of the format.
Interesting format. Funny how thru the years we have only heard from 2 boat owners on ur channel.....and they were both named Nick! I’d love to hear how much it costs to run a boat of this size. Great stuff. Keep it up!
And what does Mr. Whale do for a living? He's a natural entrepreneur and salesman. And two Nicks complement each other perfectly. This was a really good experiment Nick. Worked brilliantly. But why spend so much on designer cushions when you could have genuine Aquaholic cushions everywhere? This was a very nice departure from the normal tour and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm sure there are not many owners who are as at home in front of the go-pro, but I'm sure you'll find them. Well done!!
Really enjoyable episode, one of the things that really caught my attention was Nick's Story about his rise and fall in business and his journey through boating ,. it gives me that perspective of hope. Shocked at the price of the Sport Jet!! I have seen small yachts on your channel for that price!
Wonderfully articulate man. Your interviewing skills are top notch, allowing this very nice man to be relaxed and speak. Really enjoyed this. Thank you Nicks x 2
What a nice chap, and a superb ambassador for Princess Yachts. He has certainly looked after his 56 and it wants for nothing. Would make a fantastic purchase.
Mr. Whale is the guy to consult when you want to by a boat. Loads of experience as an owner. Awesome vid Nick.! And btw, with a last name like that it also makes him an expert! Ha love his name!
Love the video but the guy's story at the end was amazing. We all went through bad times back then and he came out fighting and won. Fantastic to hear such a great story. Wish him well.
Nick comes across really well, I bet he's a self made man, He looks after what he has and has a grasp on value for money (yes I'm talking about the cushions)
I'd heard about seakeepers but I didn't know they took that long to spin up or to spin down or that they could be somewhat noisy. That's good to know. I learned something new. I think that's a plus you get when you hear from the owners and not just from the salespeople.
What an inspiring video and a truly open and honest owner. That fellow deserves everything he has and acts unknowingly to push others, including me to higher achievement. Thank you so much for showing this. Paul
This format is a great complement when you can find likeable owners like this gentleman. A privilege to be able to enjoy this kind of content for free.
@@AQUAHOLIC it was absolutly fine, if i concentrate on nice stories someone is telling i also forget everything. the owner has a very calm and enjoyable voice.
Well done Nicks. I like the fact that nick asks how much the williams was. Just an open conversation and figuring out the things we all want to know. I would go for the same tender on this size of yacht, its like a toy and a practical boat in one. Also i love the teak decking on the flybridge of this particular yacht. Very nice one. Also i agree with this owners opinion of the yachts size. I personally never would want a boat with crew. Even if i had like a michael jackson bank account i just don't like the idea of it. 55-65 foot seems perfect for me. Very interesting to hear from this owner that going over 60 foot can actually limit the amount of marina's you can get in. I never thought about it that way. Very interesting video.
Great story. More owners would be good to see. Tip - Everyone in the conversation needs a radio mic. There i said it. Now you can go shopping for more kit.
The boat looks amazing, Princess doesn't cut any corners. Nick Whale seems like someone anybody would enjoy hanging out with. Enjoyed this format would make a nice monthly feature.
Love this format and what a lovely gentleman to share with us a bit of his life history and his obvious love of boats. His Princess is beautiful. Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your amazing feedback and please keep it coming, I read it all! (Or at least try to).

Nick (W) is 6ft 5in apparently, not often I get 'topped'!
Many thanks again for all the positive feedback. I wasn't sure how this would be received so I appreciate all of your comments. These won't replace my usual yacht tours, but I will try and bring a few more 'Meet The Owner' videos to the channel if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Nick how did get the boat back from Majorca to the UK? Did he motor it home himself or pay a transport ship?

This approach works well. A compliment to your “normal” boat tour.
Thank you kindly!

Agreed, excellent video

I agree. I enjoyed the way he talked about his boat and his story.
Great tour and I love how Nick was truthful about his ups and downs, it’s given me a gentle bit of Encouragement
From the way he presents himself, to his story of how he made back his millions after losing it all, what a super inspiring gentleman.
Well managed Nick, loved hearing the owners story. Appearances don’t always tell of a persons journey in getting to own a loverly boat. 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
I liked this episode. It was interesting to hear the observations and advice of the real owner. It is a pity that I did not understand everything, but it was still interesting. I think this format is interesting.
Thanks, hoping everyone would like it
Fantastic idea for the channel Nick - great to see you mixing it up. Interesting boat and even more interesting owner - really enjoyed hearing 'the story behind the boat' as much as the tour
Awesome, thank you! :)
Absolutely agreeing with 793! Great hearing owners inputs. Hope there will be more to come of these. Amazing job Nick as usual! Cheers from Vegas
What a thoroughly decent bloke he is.
So glad you asked him what he does professionally. I really enjoyed hearing his response; he's a deserving yacht owner for sure.
What a great guy, loved his honesty and passion.

I was riveted when watching this hearing the candid pros and cons from Nick W. You lucked out with a very knowledgeable owner. Great!
Good to see a boat from the owner/ user’s perspective. Especially someone who has had several boats so he is speaking from years of experience and so knows what works well for a family. Thank you for this, really enjoyable.
Thanks for watching!
Nick Whale very charming and down to earth gent. Great insight into yacht ownership. Thank you both.
That’s really good insight from an owner that wasn’t uptight.
Enjoyed that, really decent down to earth chap, good to hear his story too
I find your tours and now owner interview far more interesting than the usual "salesman" tours I see.
Possibly my favourite boat tour, on my favourite channel.
wow such a nice boat with such a nice owner, thankn you nick!
my pleasure!
Love seeing humble people do well for themselves and then when things turn to shit they get back up and do it all again. Good luck to him and another great video.
Very good content and I can subscribe every single word he said. This is really a sympathetic and very experienced owner. Thanks Nick
It is so refreshing to hear a real owner talking about not just their current boat but the journey of boating itself. Especially when so many owners seem to want to keep it so private. Thank you Nick Whale for your open discussion and thank you Aquaholic for sharing another top notch tour and review vid!
Really enjoying this format! Hearing how an owner uses their own boat is fascinating! Great job 👌🏾
Being a new subscriber, while this was recorded 10 months ago, I find this style of wall throughs with the owner outstanding. I especially liked to hear his thoughts of having a crew vs no crew. To live vicariously through the owners is the best I will be able live the life.
Welcome aboard!
Awesome! Thank you!
What a great guy, especially how humble he was explaining his highs and more importantly honest about his low’s.. fair
Play to him and what a fantastic boat btw.
Keep it up!
Thank you Nick and Nick Whale for the tour of his boat. Nice to see Someone Through hard work doing well. Lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it
Bit late to the party but love Meet The Owner. Gives you a real insight into actually being on a boat and how they work day to day for people.
Well done!!
He's flying a blue ensign so assume he's ex-Navy?
19:30 That si a really interesting fact about marinas, I had no idea.
Agreed, something I never really considered
Very interesting to hear the owner talking about his boat
This boat's condition is unbelievable. This is obviously a passionate owner who takes great care of her.
Its great to see an owner showing round a boat. He points out good things bad things from experience of owning it. It is a superb boat
Well Done Nick...Brilliant idea to get the owners points over about the different aspects of the boat and its uses
Paul
Please do more with owner, Excellent and very informative, a point of you rarely heard. Honestly the owner knows the boat better than anyone else.
Love this new format, its interesting to have some more insight into the person behind the helm!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked this type of video nick. Bravo.
Awesome, thank you! :)
Enjoyed that. Nice to hear his story.
This format is a great complement when you can find likeable owners like this gentleman. A privilege to be able to enjoy this kind of content for free.
I really like “meeting the owners” - you get a valuable perspective that is missed from just the ‘quick’ tours....
i can see Nick (Aquaholic) hanging on other Nicks lips and listnening to him and his career totally forgetting to hold the camera up :D
First time I've tried this - need to concentrate more on my camerawork!
or is 22:35 a Boss commercial since i wrote your commercials are short and i like it :P
@@AQUAHOLIC it was absolutly fine, if i concentrate on nice stories someone is telling i also forget everything. the owner has a very calm and enjoyable voice.
@@steel424 Intriguing product placement idea - get guests on the channel to wear sponsored clothing, I like it!
It was funny, but totally forgivable. Enjoyed the content.
Agreed! More expense..! :D
Thanks!
