INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 lb chicken liver
Maggi all purpose seasoning
5 sprigs fresh thyme (leaves)
Black pepper (be generous)
1 tbsp finely minced fresh ginger
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 stalks scallion, diced
Browning for colour (a few drops)
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
3 - 4 Pimento grains whole/crushed
1 small tomato chopped or diced
1 small onion cut into strips
A few pieces sweet pepper
1 scotch bonnet pepper
1 stalk scallion
Thyme sprigs
1 1/2 tbsp ketchup

Followed this step by step this morning. Came out beautifully and very tasty! My hubby approved! He could not stop happy dancing and nodding 🤣🤣. Served it with some boiled dumplings and cooked potatoes and a freshly blended fruit smoothie. He took a nap shortly after 😂

Ketchup is always the jamaican secret ingredient in liver.. It is nice!!
Exactly, you are 100% right and a lot of our Jamaican restaurants in the states doesn't use it and add celery which is not the authentic taste of Jamaican liver

I just use sea salt, cracked black pepper, and sauté some onion n add smashed garlic

I only had chi ken liver fried but I was looking for an alternative way to cook it without frying this looks good I will give it a try hopefully it comes out as good as this looks!

Yes it is, hence why I’m watching this video how to prep it without the seasons and just pink salts and earths seasoning... trying to fight this iron deficiency problem I have here.

I just told someone on their channel that I would eat their cornbread with some chicken liver and was deciding If I wanted to go make the beef liver I had on the freezer or some soup instead. I would eat this now 🤤

Hey! You definitely can. Just make sure the pot is nice and hot to get a nice searing going on. It's important to sear the liver so it doesn't just simmer and turn an unappealing colour. We want it nice and brown
