- This is my favourite chord trick, one that I wish I knew a lot sooner. Using this open chord shape allows you to move around the fretboard and create some cool licks too! Enjoy!

1:03 play the major triad in root position on strings 2, 3, and 4 from the CAGED E-shape starting at the fifth fret (A major). Move it up to the 8th fret (C major), down to the first fret (F chord), and then up to the third fret (G major).
3:16 add chord embellishments using notes on the same fret as the ring finger. From top to bottom, these are the 9th, 6th, and 11th of the chord.
4:01 add the additional scale degrees (2, 1, and 6) from the “house of blues” pattern at the top of the same E-shape. In sequence: 2, 1, 6, 5, 3.
I have been playing this progression for years. It’s a cool progression thank you for sharing it with the world.
It really is! Thanks for watching!
For those not used to a Scottish accent, turn on CC. You are welcome. 😉
This is the only channel on UA-cam I _can_ understand easily.

It looks like the same top floor of an old hospital that I used to rent.. Double skylights at that angle, and the same echo (which can be mitigated with some nice throw rugs or carpetsł.
The tip-off was those steam heating radiators with the covers - covers I installed, years ago.
Nice one Tony, clear and concise as ever...New loft or a refurb?. Looking good!
Thanks for the compliment and am glad you liked it! And my video was actually taken in Poland, stayed for awhile :)
We're lucky to have ur charms...thanks mate..

Love your hands, you have real guitar fingers!
Wow! Thanks for the compliment! :)
... and useful hands and fingers, believe me.
What key is this in?
At first I heard Pink Floyd, something from ”Animals”? And then I got little sniffs of the Allman Brothers _ perhaps “Ramblin’ Man”?
Ah, I love that you're picking up on those vibes! Thanks for watching, man! :)
THANK F**K FOR THOSE SUBTITLES 👍👍👍
👍🇬🇧
I can't tell yer "A" from yer "E", eh?
Turn you captions on or play at .75 speed
Think in Scottish
Caption doesn’t understand either😂
Rally cool guitar lacks!
Same
Credit to Hendrix there 😎
Absolutely!
Actually credit to Curtis Mayfield, but I’m nitpicking!
@@joeyoutlaw7854 it’s ok to nitpick Joey, do you have any examples of Curtis Mayfields guitar style to support your assertion?
I believe People Get Ready has some of that style playing. His late 50’s stuff with the Impressions has some too, but it’s usually not very prominent in the mix. You’ll hear it if you look for it. Jimi definitely brought it to the forefront and took it to a new level.
@@joeyoutlaw7854 I’ve just listened to People Get Ready, never heard it before, very nice song with staccato guitar chords underlying the rhythm, a short lead break and key change before continuing with the stabbing guitar chords. I think the song would sound great under a reggae based rhythm.
However, I couldn’t hear anything that would might have led Jimi to think he’d heard something new and which he could incorporate into his catalogue, he’d been doing that kind of soul much more advanced for years as a soul band backing player and playing in Little Richard’s rock n roll band.
Tony I owe you another Piwo!
I'll gladly accept that! Thanks for watching! 🍻
