- It’s certainly easier to make assumptions about people than it is to spend time getting to know someone. We wanted to put assumptions to the test to see what we're missing out on because we're so busy assuming we already "know" a person. Join us as we discover why you should never judge a book by it’s cover in our series 'Tell My Story, Blind Date.'
We are all conditioned with certain biases. In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to guess their partner's interests and past experiences based only on their partner's appearance. When they learned their partner's real answers, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

The first time they saw each other, Prince Aaron was left speechless by the brightness of the younger prince's smile. It was like the sun after the long nights. Prince Drew was awestruck by the way the older prince held himself--with easy confidence but soft movements, making him appear approachable.
As time passed by, the two princes grew closer, closer than any of their parents thought they could get. They went on walks, read together in the library, ate together and were constantly seen with the other. Both thought, "I would happily live my life with him." But alas, fate had other plans. An evil sorcerer who Prince Aaron met many years ago, had fallen in love with said prince. He could not accept the fact his beloved was betrothed to another. Without the knowledge on the depth of the princes' love for each other, he cast a spell on Prince Aaron, putting him into a deep sleep.
Both kingdoms have tried everything to wake the prince but to no avail. Prince Drew asked his parents' permission to remain by Prince Aaron's side. The king was reluctant but eventually gave in on the condition the young prince returned home after six months and stayed for another six before he would return to his beloved's side.
For the firs two weeks of the young prince's stay, he slept on a chair by his beloved's bedside--a kiss on the forehead, on the eyelids and on the mouth of his beloved every night before he fell asleep. Sometimes, he would tell the sleeping prince stories of knights and dragons and sorcerers. On the third, the older prince's mother managed to convince him to sleep on the small bed they provided, "it can't be comfortable, my dear. My son would be devastated to see we might not be treating you well," the queen had said.
Months have passed until it turned into years. Prince Drew remained faithful to his beloved that even the sorcerer felt his heart melt. By the fifth year of Prince Aaron's sleep, as Prince Drew was about to prepare for sleep, the sorcerer lifted his curse and the prince opened his eyes for first time in five years.
As his eyelids fluttered open, he was welcomed by the sight of steel-grey eyes, looking at him in shock, fear and hope. He smiled for the first time, slowly sat up and opened his arms wide. The younger prince could not resist and collapsed in the arms of his beloved.

Personally I believe that it is because American really doesn't have a long history, so no one except for Native Americans can claim their ethnicity as American. That means that everyone has a close ancestor that was an immigrant, and most people have a mix of ethnicities due to the fact that so many people from so many backgrounds inhabit the US. The reason most Americans will rattle off a list of their ethnicities is because they have multiple. For example my mother is 100% Italian and my father is 50%, so I'm 75% Italian and that's what I claim as my ethnicity; however, that leaves one fourth of myself as belonging to different backgrounds. Basically I'm just trying to say that while it may seem funny to list off a series of ethnicities for people that live in countries who's population is primarily of one ethnic background it's important to understand that America has an unique culture as the "global mixing pot" of different people and many Americans take pride in the fact that they have more than one ethic background.
Vincent Andre Okay, so you have more than one ethnic background... but in my opinion that is just "genetic information". Having Italian ancestors doesn't make you more Italian than anyone else if you've never been there and don't speak Italian. I'm German because I speak German and because I know what it means to be German... I don't want to be racist but for me, it takes a little more to be Italian/Irish/German than just having ancestors from one of those countries.
It's fine I understand what you're saying, but just to let you know while I may not have ever been to Italy it is still my culture, it is my mother's culture, and my grandmother's who lived half her life in Italy. It's not racism, just rudeness. You really don't know a thing about me but you can tell me what is and what's not my heritage? I have a strong sense of family and a pride in my ancestry and customs, so excuse me if I find it a little arrogant of you to assume that I "don't know what it's like to be Italian." The part that I'm most disappointed about is that you choose to focus on my personal example instead of actually commenting on the point I was trying to make. I was only saying that America is a diverse place, I was never insulting any other nations or peoples, and I only provided my own example due to the effective percentages. I'm sorry if you felt insulted because of any of this, but there was no need to make anything personal.

I'm happy about you cherishing your heritage and loving your mother's and grandmother's heritage, no need to feel insulted. I just hope that everyone tries to connect with their ethnic background if they call themselves Irish/German/whatever instead of just calling themselves Irish without having anything to do with Irish culture :)

We don't want any kids. We love our nieces and nephews but we love them even more when they go home. But just for argument sake.. if we did have kids, they will be baptized. Both of us are baptized when we were babies, its in both of our family tradition. And when they get older they can chose what to believe or not believe.

This was actually better than any of the straight couple videos, no judgemental looks, no awkward moments, it makes you feel happy for them. I'm not gay but I have friends who are and it's great to see how gay couples respect more each other than straight people.
We just talk things through better and try and compromise because it is better to be together and try and make it work than to be alone for us because we know that there is not much else out there. These are all trivial problems that they talked about. If one dad wants to raise their kids religious and the other doesn't than that is okay. One can take them to church, monastery...etc and if the child does not believe in god than the other parent can take over. This is all okay. You just need to come off less strong. Sure relationships have problems but you have to respect and communicate.
