In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to guess their blind date partner's interests and past experiences based only on their partner's appearance. When they learned their partner's real answers, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

Viola, I'm from Italy too, from the north as well and my parents are from Milan, I speak a pretty good american english and let me tell you quite honestly you totally sound italian, very much so, you have a very strong italian accent like many of us do. Not being from the south doesn't prevent you from that, it just maybe doesn't make you sound the same as most italian-americans and not have their sayings and stuff but yes, I could tell as soon as you started talking you were from Italy.

Well, the Italian accent is not only the one of those coming from the South of Italy. There are so many Italian accents when speaking in English depending on where you are from. So yeah, you do have an Italian accent, and being Italian myself I could spot it straight away. You might say "I don't have the stereotypical Italian accent represented on media".
