They might have used some kind of GPS. There's no way they would ave risked the people, the cars, and the show itself by driving blindly through a blizzard up a mountain. Same thing with the lava (there must have been a protection system other than the ones shown). It does not make it less entertaining and I think it's still recognition worth (I'll never do anything similar, no matter the safety precauciones, because....what if anything fails/goes wrong?)
Underrated game and I will die on this hill (The orignal Most Wanted was before my time so this was the only game of that format I got to play. So I often think of the 2011 Most Wanted when people mention the original)
@mattybutler1985 I also love this game, played it from start to end so many many times I lost track of it haha, I even completed the dodgy ps2 version of that game but "only" 3 times haha
if it would be possible i'd like to see the segment when they did the two luxury coupes for 6k GBP. i've never seen it anywhere on the internet so far.
No life risk at all. Mostly fake. If it sat still that long at that temperature the tires would have melted fast…..and the camera crews all around him.
Car tires are vulcanized and start to melt around 1000 degrees. They're also very thick. The only camera crew was far off and zoomed in really tight. All of the other shots are mounted cameras in/on the car. What else about it could even be fake?
@ Top Gear was mostly set up. It was entertainment. 3 wheel cars were rigged to roll over. Death defying scenes in boats all had crew and film boats beside them. They always had good food cooked for them. Remember the RV episode? There was a party at night in the middle of nowhere but about 45 people dancing? Thats all crew to support the 3 actors. Some crashes were serious though on tracks etc.
@heavywelder2 well yeah a lot of stuff is blatantly scripted and a lot of other stuff was real but I wasn't asking about that other stuff.this scene in particular you can pretty much tell is real
Finally, an HD video of James May cooking class
this is from the hd era of tg anyway
it's upscale tho
Yeh not at all foodtribe where he used to be
Most mundane weekend activity for James May
Why not picnic on an active volcano?
0:35 The museum James mentioned has gotten rid of their Top Gear collection.
Rubbish!
@@elliottgordon3679yep, in the new forest they scrapped the top gear exhibit this year 💀
how dare they???? so many priceless artifacts
Bruh💀
Well it wasn't stolen from indigenous people, so they were not interested
Toyota is the best at not paying anyone to do a commercial
Stretching his hand out of the window was a big risk itself. He was really blessed that none the rocks fell directly

@@lmao-ev6nz that's cool to know, the cutters had good taste it seems 👍. But sadly I don't recognize those cause I barely played those 2 games
they used nfs carbon ost once in a japanese drifters film, one of Ekstrak's tracks
Having been in Iceland since Last November I have got used to the volcanoes and yes, at a distance, in the darkness they are beautiful.
The water cooling system was a good idea ngl, not a permanent solution but it worked temporarily
thats my country baby!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Would love to visit it👍👍
Same here, though in summer so I can drive around the ring road without weather issues.
I just wanna go back to the early 2000's
Incredibly brave of him to be that close!
TOYOTA THE GOAT 🐐 🔥
Emile: if you drive fast.
James: Mate, you do know who you talkin to?
😂
I love those Hilux's 😍
That Hilux is the true Song of Ice and Fire
More evidence of the Top Gear producers tried to kill their hosts through all these years
Who else was expecting a caravan to drop on the Toyota at the last moment?
8:49 9:46 on the background u can see an airplane flying very close to the volcano.
Squirt vodka on lava, brilliant James.
Great job top gear 👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Never saw this episode before 😳
Buffeting
00:00 ...highly dipped in Octane, let East Coast bang, let West Coast bang...
This is fresh
Love it!
Why do they always leave out the clip of James showing Jeremy his new piece of pumice in the studio.
Hilux ❤
09:40 ~ 09:47 right hand side, above car, in background.
Is that a plane flying around the lower edge of the volcano ?

Braver man than me.
I can keep it if you are ok with that. I also live in mountains.
Wow
Holla J.M. !!
Here I thought vodka cooling exist only for pc
Sweet!
World record car for temperature extremes?
That's F'ing nuts.
he risked his life for a tv show, dont see that in the new one
he was risking his life..
those tires could easily melt and explode and he would be stranded in middle of lava field.. really stupid way to die
