      Microphone is not as important here. Wind protector however can make a night and day difference. These wind protectors are called cats and they are a sort of fluffy enclosure you put on the mic you have. If you can build a truck like this I'm pretty certain you can get a fluffy (it has to have long hair strands) material and make a pocket out of it just big enough for the mic to fit in. The fake fur or fur-like strands will shield the mic from the wind pretty well, if you have a massive wind you can put a layer of open cell foam as a first layer and the long fake fur as a second. Source, I did sound on set including open air sets. There are how-to instructions available on the internet for how to build these wind protectors.

      @@someoneyouknow96 When you said wheelers I assumed you where trying to compare a 1 ton to a fully loaded semi. Where I'm from that's what we call semis is wheelers. But yes I know its not a regular 1500 but when it comes to off road ability there is no functional difference between a 1500 and a 3500 as they are built on the same body on frame construction just different engine transmission and drive train.

    • @ksl4044
      @ksl4044 Місяць тому +2

      while i wholeheartedly agree with your point on semi's not being a fair comparison. A modern 1 ton pickup uses an entirely different frame, entirely different body and entirely different suspension to a 1/2 ton. while dodge 2500 and 3500 frames are nearly identical except for a mounting plate for the extra overload spring in the 3500's.
