The brooks Aurora is a awesome shoe, especially if you a forefoot striker. I love the brooks, it remind me of the Hyperion tempo with cushion. The Nike invisible is soft and great for recovery days.
I tried on the Invincible in a store and couldn’t deal with it. It wasn’t even the instability that put me off; I couldn’t get past the upper--it felt bulky, clunky, didn’t hug my midfoot, and the ankle/heel collar seemed ridiculously over-engineered. It felt distracting right away. There are so many shoes that feel fantastic at first step-in. Today I received the Aurora BL and that shoe had the immediate step-in lockdown I love. The upper and lacing system are terrific; I didn’t have to fuss with anything. I haven’t had a chance to run in them outside yet but am looking forward to it based on how they felt running inside. Do you guys think this could work as a marathon shoe for some people, given how light it is and how race-like the upper is? It seems to want to go fast despite its intended use as a trainer. For those who don’t like the stiffness of plated shoes (or if their gait just doesn’t work with them) but still want abundant cushion, stability, breathability and light weight this might be an alternative that allows a more natural foot stride with the decoupled midsole. New to running. Wish I would have done my research. Bought the Invincibles. Annnnd.. after about 2 miles my knee hates them. Now I'm nursing a strained IT band. Guess these will stay designated for walks. They seem fine for me as comfortable shoes to walk in and thats being overly positive. Sucks because I really like how cushy they are. The problems didn't become apparent until a few days running multiple miles in them. I am learning I have overpronation issues in my gait and these shoes are just torturing my knee. I'm trying some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 shoes now.. as well as New Balance Fresh Foam x860 v12s. Wayyyy different direction than the Invincible. Becoming a new runner in 2021 is tough.. so many shoes and its hard to know what a shoe is gonna feel like after 10.. 20.. 30 miles of running in them.
I've had both for several months and really like each - the Aurora is much faster but not quite as good for recovery days. Aurora works best for steady runs. It's similar to the Maxroad 4+ in feel, though, for tempo, I'd choose the Maxroad.
I have both the Nike Invincible ($180) and Brooks Aurora BL ($185). The heal in the Nikes are a bit too high for me. They feel ok at slower paces but feel better at faster paces (under 7 min per mile for me). I think it’s because of the heal-toe offset. The Aurora are absolutely perfect. Great cushioned every day trainer. I love the Nitrogen infused DNA LOFT V3 midsole!! Perfect heal-toe offset and very breathable. They have 100 miles so far and the cushioning is great. Surprisingly the rubber outsole is showing very little wear. I ran CC and Track in high school and College, now I’m a 200lb heal striker trying to get back into competitive running. I tend to be hard on shoes and the Brooks Aurora are the best shoes I’ve had in a long time. I just bought my second pair ($185) because of the limited quantity. Hopefully my 2 pairs last till March of 2022 when Brooks releases the Glycerin 20 with DNA LOFT V3.
Haven't tried the Brooks, but I found the Invincible upper pretty uncomfortable, and I just didn't get enough back from the midsole. It was like running on an unstable, rubberized marshmallow. Intrigued by that Aurora BL, but I'm not nearly cool enough to pull off running in something that crazy looking! :)
At first I thought it looked outrageous, but looking down on it, the upper is actually very attractive. Then I remembered how HOKA’s looked to me when they first came out, and even how ugly the first Next%’s looked to me. I still think the Alphafly is uglier by a longshot. We get used to things. I do believe it’s a concept shoe and Brooks will probably use this foam, upper and other elements in some of their flagship models or perhaps new models.
Robbe pulling a Daniel Ricciardo shoey! Both these shoes are expensive AF! At least the Auroras look the part. I think Nike designers designed the invincibles while drunk. They could've used the test suggested by Thomas.
I went the the New Balance Fresh Foam More v3 over the brooks because it was a better price for a max cushion trainer… But I was intrigued by the Aurora… I did a marathon in the Hyperion Elite 2 and was wondering how that new shoe would work. Hope to see you compare the Aurora to the Fresh Foam More v3
I use the Invincible, and overall I like the. But I am a bit embarrassed about how loud it is, and the breathability is an issue. (Evidence of the breathability issue is that I've never had a pair of shoes stink so band.)
I love to try the aurora bl but 200 usd price point is high. I got my invincible for 6500 php (around 125usd) and it is one of my favorite training shoe. What I dont like in the invincible is the breathability of the upper. I dont mond the weight as I dont notice it when running.
@@Believeintherun By remind I mean it looks similar. I’ve never tried the Predict 2. Not surprised though by the thumbs down because they’re not very liked on Salomon’s review section for that shoe. Keep up the good work!
Love the Channel! I went and purchased the Aurora BL after your first review. I agree with the running assessment of the shoe, but there are two HUGE issues with the shoe. It makes a highly annoying popping sound, when you walk in them on smooth surfaces. Additionally, the top stitching of the gusseted tongue started to break apart after only 12 miles. The lacing was not modified. Highly disappointed with the durability of the tongue and sadly this shoe will be returned.
Yup, I tried on the Aurora, loved it and found out the price---I don't think so. As for the brands, I have never tried Brooks or Nike, to many things I like better in Hoka, Saucony, and Skechers. I just sent away for a 2nd pair of my favorite Skechers GoRun Razor 3 (Cloaks) before you can't get 'em anymore. Yep, the ones with the Zebra stripes. I am no stranger to weird. Brooks Aurora, when you go on clearance, maybe...
Don’t waste your money. I mean, it’s your money do what you want with it, but maybe go to your local store and do a test run in them first…. But like Robbie said - the aurora was everything I hope the invincible would be but wasn’t.
these Brooks have a little divot on the bottom that acts like a suction cup, so i sound like a cartoon octopus on any smooth surface. they are comfortable, but i still prefer the invincible.
That evidently goes away after running in them. I only got that sound once walking on our wood floors today in them when I tried them on. (They arrived this afternoon)
Seems like the Nike Invincibles are the frontrunners for the "most polarizing shoe" of 2021. Haven't seen any middle ground on these shoes based from what has been said. Love OR Hate with nothing in between.
For me the Clifton was like running in sand. It sapped my energy too much. But there are lots of great shoes out there at a range of prices so no one is forced to spend this much in order to get a great shoe.
Loving the Btwn 2 Shoes format. Concise, informative and a little bit of fun, can't beat that!
The brooks Aurora is a awesome shoe, especially if you a forefoot striker. I love the brooks, it remind me of the Hyperion tempo with cushion. The Nike invisible is soft and great for recovery days.
Iam with Megan in this discussion. Invincible is my all time favorite shoe for long easy runs. I love them!!

I'd like to see the same striking blue colour midsole as with the Tempo on the Aurora with some darker shade on the uppers.
I love that electric blue midsole. I even ordered my 2nd pair in the same color-way, I like it so much.

Yep, totally agree
Love the new feature you have with the two shoes. You guys have a great sense of humour…got to say Robbe your impression was amazing 😂 -
Lol I've spent years as an understudy to Meg

how did the aurora fit you? true to size? been reading they are a tad long?
@@hazimmohamad6683 They are 1/2 to 1 size long. I usually wear size 11 and had to go with a 10 1/2.

Thanks to you, I’m loving the Aurora. The Invincible, sent back. Overbuilt shoe designed in Purgatory. That last reference was for you, Thomas.
Very cool! I'd be even more curious to see the Invincible compared with More v3!

just return my invincible back to nike..feels good the 1st two runs..then its just felt irritating..the bounciness made me tired.

That Brooks shoe reminds me of the Salomon Predict 2. May be worth comparing.

The popping went away for us after 20 miles or so, but that's messed up with the stitching. Definitely get a replacement. Thanks for watching!

Hot take from Robbe - Skechers Max Road 5 is better than both of these
@@Believeintherun Sweet!
I was just at the store and they had the Brooks. I can't justify that price, they should be 160
First. Love this new series
I have the aurora it’s very nice. I may get the invincible just for the hell of it to see… also like the Pegasus 38!
Don’t waste your money. I mean, it’s your money do what you want with it, but maybe go to your local store and do a test run in them first…. But like Robbie said - the aurora was everything I hope the invincible would be but wasn’t.

Love the video. If I could have one tiny complaint, don't say "this one" the whole time. Say the names. Some of us might be just be listening 🙂
Another firecracker :)

Pretty accurate
The Tempo Next% would be a close 2nd for that.
Just for the horrible padding around the ankle i would even no try the zoom x in a store….no wonder is so havy…..
Save some serious cash and buy a pair of Cliftons. Is the difference really worth $50-$70??
For me the Clifton was like running in sand. It sapped my energy too much. But there are lots of great shoes out there at a range of prices so no one is forced to spend this much in order to get a great shoe.
Yes
And by the way, nike will never have a fair price for what you get as long they sponsor so many sport activitys, espacially Soccer around the world……
