The “decoupled” heel-forefoot definitely matters. It’s a borrowed idea from the adidas OG torsion system found in the ZX/EQT and OG-20 UB. Most midsoles force your heel-forefoot to move as one which creates instability. This is especially noticeable in hi-stack shoes. So plates and other rigid materials are inserted to make up for it. The best plate and/or torsion systems “decouple” the heel and forefoot (adidas Torsion, LEP, double half-plates in adizeroPro and the energy rod-heel plate combo of adiosPro). I hope that helps.
I prefer a lower stack with a decently soft material (SL20, adios1-6, Boston 1-9, adizeroPro, etc.). Puma and Reebok are definitely doing big things along the lines of the shoes I mentioned.

You should try out a pair of Skechers with the hyper burst cushioning. Yes Skechers lol. It’s also nitrogen injected, so I’m assuming it will be a similar feel to these brooks.
Sorry for the late reply, I have tried both, and they are very similar in terms of feel and sensation. I would say the Hyperburst is the softer more squishy of the two. The Brooks DNA loft foam is more akin to Pumas Nitro foam.
Props to the ultra boost for starting this revolution of ultra pillow soft comfort running shoes . Still sticking to my UB 21’s
Ultraboost didn’t though. For all intents and purposes, the UB was a terrible running shoe. Heavy, sloppy and not very cushy.

These shoes are great for distance. Great comfort. I’ve had them for a lil over a month and they are amazing. If you don’t have them you should get them because they’re limited.

Have had them for a while now and I also have that popping sound but while running you don’t hear it nor on cement . I guess it’s only on flooring of tile or wood were you really hear the popping.
Yeah from what I can figure out it is coming from the oval section that sticks out from the heel unit and it acts like a suction cup

@@ALCblackout24HD this a while back. I'm 40 and for a time brooks was in Walmart back when I was a kid. Brooks had started out as a department store brand along side Reebok adidas Nike and others. Maybe I've lived long enough to see some changes in the sneaker market.

IMO the most underrated shoe from 2021. For running AND lifestyle.
Running I guess because they were too weird, and Brooks is a pretty boring "by the book" brand. If runners want weird they don't go to Brooks. Lifestyle, I guess the same reason, they're just not known by sneakerheads. Thanks for going outside the box and making this review.

Huh, if you have an issue with the shoes that are meant for runners, then maybe you should stop using very specific running shoes for day to day wear. This is obviously designed for a specific type of running day, much like the Next% and Alpha fly, so why don't you stop encouraging people to buy shoes that aren't meant for casual wear? And if you are going to start running, these would be a terrible place to start for someone of your build.
