The thing is, you have a fine eye for the things YOU appreciate, find interesting or find artistic. When you point out a lot of things in your videos, I’m like, yes, yes, I like that too, or isn’t that interesting, you happen to have a unique perspective, and that’s what’s wonderful about you. You point out things many may not see at first, it takes you to do that! I appreciate that, that’s why I continue to watch your videos (plus the humor you throw in). Thank you for returning to show the destruction in day light. Fire has no mercy and will cost thousand to replace the structures and content. Many live are effected economically. This is the third fabric place in LA county to be destroyed by fire this year. Thanks GIV!

I can't draw a straight stick figure 😂 so I take in and appreciate the art that seems to come so easily to others. Yep...also love things like the firetrucks and hydrants you took pics of. I wish my dad was still here to shove Mike’s videos from yesterday and today. He volunteered from the miid 70’s and into the 80’s at Harbor Lights on skid row (now closed) and he headed a project to upgrade a women’s residential rehab center, an old masonry building, to meet current earthquake code. Time has certainly marched on…it was an apocalyptic scene on these familiar streets.
I would like to stay in the LA area where I grew up and lived all my life, but the rents here have gotten above $2500-3000 for the average apartment. I may have to move hours away and commute in despite making what I thought was a decent wage. I think I’m realizing I don’t make very much after all, at least not for living in LA. It doesn’t surprise me that homelessness is out of control. For people living paycheck to paycheck they are one unexpected emergency away from ending up in the streets. I saw an older woman get evicted from the place she lived in for 30 years across the street because the owner can make a killing on renting it to a new renter. I don’t know where she went since nobody ever talks to their neighbors here but I hope she is doing okay.
GIV you always show everything so we can decide for ourselves what we think happened. I would make a quest that a homeless person started the fire. I feel for the shop owners that are trying to make a living. Your insurance rates must be through the roof. I wish the people of LA all the best in getting things changed for the good of LA.
Mayor Bass will spend millions and increase the homeless population. Yet it's not her money. Burn baby burn. Put them in the Newsome mansion we pay for that too.
I never understand why people go through life justifying their existence. You are an artist- you have different eyes. We are lucky to get a peek through them. Carry on!!!!
I hope the owners of these factories will build back better and stronger with the insurance money. I can’t believe some of those plants from that mini garden are still alive - would be a wonderful sign of hope to take those living plants and replant them wherever these businesses move to (maybe they’d need to be temporarily housed somewhere else until then). Or maybe you could go rescue those plants and give them to the LAFD units who risked their own lives to put inside their firehouses as a symbol of new life growing from the ashes. You could buy new planters and decorate them with your own spin. I bet LAFD would be very moved by such a gesture and would love to decorate the firehouse with some plants they saved.

It really is sad; those pharmaceutical drugs can really damage you permanently. Though, I strongly suspect assisting them off whatever they're addicted in combination with optimal nutrition will really reverse that perceivably irreversible damage.

If brain cells are damaged, there is no way back to normality. And quite frankly spoken: Who in our society really cares? It is all about "money making", unfortunately!

First and foremost they must find within themselves the very possibility of something better before that can happen. Coming from someone who is currently recovering from addiction, the only solution for me is by bettering my personal relationship with my creator. Robert Crumb used to draw his cartoons of city with all that mass of wires and gritty street scenes. Look up his A Short History of America poster - it is fantastic. He said he would have people send him photos of the street because who could make up those scenes.
