Up late this Saturday night making Sunday dinner & this is what I made because the hub asked me to make chicken noodle soup & I had no idea (he didn't marry me for my cooking lol) found you and...omgg...thank u so much for this recipe! I followed it to the tee except that I used 1/2 tsp of cayenne instead of 1 because the hubby doesn't like much heat. Of course I had to taste & it is absolutely DELICIOUS! Has my house smelling amazing! Hub's asleep but he is going to be in heaven tomorrow! Again, thank u so much!
Yo man, I love how you cook, give tips, and history! I can tell you have a lot of talent in a lot of experience I'm looking forward to watching all of your videos and learning how to cook better myself
@@TheCajunChef hell yeah! Oh and I made the creamy chicken soup last night, I was hung over all day and now I feel great! Can't wait to learn more about the mother sauces, the flour and butter base was delicious
Instead of adding heavy cream, I added Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Celery and it was PHENOMENAL! This recipe was so good. And you have a new subscriber.
Thank you so much Benji Hannah! I will have to try adding cream of mushroom and cream of celery. Sounds spectacular, thanks for the feedback and the sub.
My moms been really sick, and she asked me to make her some chicken noodle soup (canned) I’m still young but I bought the ingredients and made a huge pot using this recipe, it turned out amazing. I poured in a bit of “Cream of Chicken” in the soup as I added the roux, overall I think it turned out great! I hope my mom likes it :D Edit: she loved it!! thank you!! x3 Thank you!! ~ Ice Cream
FANTASTIC! One little tip for a tasty optional approach: Reduce the amount of roux by about half, and then add one 8oz block of cream cheese. Provides the dish with a tanginess that just ROCKS!! Thanks for the great video!
My son has terrible allergies when the seasons and weather changes. Making chicken noodle soup tonight. Because the cold my son has, my entire house has it now. Lol hope it works.

I would cut the chicken and make a stock with the carcass. just boil the carcass with salt and onion, bell pepper and a couple of celery stalks. then remove the carcass and veggies. Or you could just use the water from cooking your chicken.
Just made this tonight for my family, was a big hit, I accidentally put in a little to much Chyanne pepper for the kids oops lol, oh and we used Dino pasta as it my son’s favourite
Hi! I'm slightly confused 😊 You say to add 2 and a half cups of chicken stock; however, the ingredients in your description say 32 oz. chicken stock. There are 20 oz. in 2 and a half cups. Do I add the entire 32 oz. chicken stock or just 2 and a half cups?
It's actually not a myth. Chicken or meat in general is good for illness because of the protein. Protein encourages the growth of antibodies in your immune system. If that is wrong my microbiology teacher has some explaining to do.
My mom used to make it but rip her I really missed her.. But I WILL TRY THIS AND IF SOMEONE TRIED TO STOP ME I WILL TURN INTO DEKU thank for the recipe btw
The only advantage for me is that i can cook the noodles and add them when im ready instead of overcooking them in the broth. Plus i can get rid of the starchy water after.
This is the way I've always made it. I guess you could if you wanted to but it would change the flavor a bit if your browned the chicken vs boiling it in the broth.

I’m sure the chicken soup helps with the flu and other sicknesses but I’m sure it must be cooked with real chicken raised free and with real cereals . Today we don’t have that as much ...sadly
I made it. It was delicious!!! The whole family loved it. Super simple

I love it but I should’ve have known it has a kick spice cause the cayenne pepper 😁🤭oh well hopefully my son eats it
You can definitely leave that cayenne out if you don't want that touch of heat, I do think the cream knocks the heat down.

Can we add snow peas to the soup too ?

That's amazing to hear! It is very easy to add too much cayenne because it definitely does not take much. So glad everyone enjoyed it!

I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully mine is almost as good as your mom's
. Can you use onion powder instead of the diced onions?
you can, I would add 1.5 tsp to start and season to taste before serving
can I use almond milk?
You can but the lack of fat will affect the creaminess of the soup. If you give it a try, please let me know how it comes out
I’m looking for one like my dads and this is the closest but his don’t have carrots in ut
Dr Oz says it helos!
Is there an advantage to cooking the noodles separately and not in the broth itself?
The only advantage for me is that i can cook the noodles and add them when im ready instead of overcooking them in the broth. Plus i can get rid of the starchy water after.
Can this be made in advance and frozen
+Wonda Bonda Sure can!
Shouldn't you cook the chicken first?
This is the way I've always made it. I guess you could if you wanted to but it would change the flavor a bit if your browned the chicken vs boiling it in the broth.
it would be good that you cook the chicken in the same pot so you ooze out all the chicken flavors into the soup.

I’m sure the chicken soup helps with the flu and other sicknesses but I’m sure it must be cooked with real chicken raised free and with real cereals . Today we don’t have that as much ...sadly
they are definitely raised very rapidly and killed for processing. It is not natural for sure
@@TheCajunChef I agree. It's very sad to see huge full grown chickens and still cheeping like baby chicks! I went to a commercial chicken farm once.
Why do you beat the pan everytime with the spoon when you stir? Quite annoying!!! It can cause dents in the pan.

@@jacechampion3066 . I don’t. Pepper changes flavor. In small amounts, pepper adds needed notes to a dish.
