Next, an olive and cheese loaf, a no-knead bread that's baked in an enameled cast iron pot. And finally, a simple and delicious bread called Sally Lunn.

    Martha has always made her breads and everything she bakes look and taste awesome. No fancy mixers used. Just good old fashioned elbow grease.

    I baked my olive and cheese loaf last night for dinner. I ate the bread and skipped my dinner. The bread was very savory and delicious. Dipped in in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Very good!

    I'm really glad you expanded your videos since coming to UA-cam, it's like the good ole days without commercials. I moved to Maryland's eastern shore in '76 after graduating high school. Mom and I went to Kmart to pick up a few things for my new place, we bought a beautiful bedding set, it had a really nice label of a big old house with the name Martha Stewart on it. I asked mom, also a Martha who Martha Stewart was, neither of us knew. Then came a magazine and a tv show. I've been hooked ever since.

    Thank you for these videos. I love Martha's recipes, they always work. Also, thank you for scraping the bowls and cups. It is my pet peeve when I see other chefs wasting their ingredients!

    I agree that kids should be taught home economics. We did the vinegar and milk science project and made breads when I homeschooled my twins. Watching your programs was a great addition to our studies.

    There’s this chain of french restaurants/bakery “Maison Kayser” that opened locations in NYC, and unfortunately closed due to the shutdown. They sold a beautiful olive bread that I sorely miss. They had the full loaf size and mini dinner rolls. I used to buy an olive bread dinner roll and bit of butter for breakfast every morning. And they sold the good butter, Presidente 🤦🏽‍♀️ and I been dreaming of that bread since March 2020. I wish I had bought a bunch and froze them. Or snuck in the kitchen and learned the recipe 😂🤣

    I do a soda bread you made on your 'Martha Show' every year for St Patrick's and spring. Unusual in that it had egg and sour cream, your guest said it was from his Irish Mothers kitchen. Everyone loves it. Now can't wait to try these, always great trying something new.

    Thanks for these uploads. The olive cheese bread looks superb.
    I used to make Sally Lunn bread for my daughter who loved it but it still seemed dense and heavy to me, as most of my homemade yeasted breads were ( despite following the recipes exactly, even using a thermometer for the yeast liquid), except for croissants.

    Thank you for sharing this lovely video. I'm very curious to know from which producer the Manzanilla olives came from, because I haven't had any luck searching for the variety featured in this recipe. I think that magenta-colored, rosy hue is stunning!

    Martha is Sally Lun almost like the normal white bread we find in the shops? Or is the texture more cakey? Pleaseeee answer😇

    • @MarthaStewart
      @MarthaStewart  3 роки тому +1

      Hello there! Sally Lunn bread is something similar to a brioche bread or teacake. It's a sweet bread that would be slightly different from the white bread you find in the shops!

    I'm thinking of making my own bread but I need some advice first. I have been getting my flour from a local farming group. I currently use whole wheat pastry flour and whole Einkorn wheat flour. Which flour should I use for making bread? They have whole hard red wheat flour, whole turkey red flour, and whole Red Fife flour. Which one or ones should I use?
