🤔 He seemed so testy about that too. Hard to tell artists not to accumulate things when everything is a possible supply for future art. I'm happy that someone was forced to design around that request!
scarletts yes you are so right. It's very creative but nature and relaxing at the same time. I love the use of colour and how they planned the space. It turn out so well. I'm very impressed! 👏👌
The interior designer did a fantastic job on keeping his arts and plants around the house. Probably my favourite NEVER TOO SMALL episode. Absolutely loved it!
I wish there were more videos for apartments like this, almost all the videos are minimalist. A lot of people collect art and other things and want to be able to display them nicely and still have storage. We just watched all of your videos and absolutely in love. Thank you for great content
Yes, I hate the idea that just because someone lives in a small apartment they should be forced to have everything empty. I know minimalism is trendy right now, but it's not for everyone.
Couldn't agree more! Love love love the gold toned mirrored surfaces. In my presumptuous mind I would have dismissed that choice as tacky but it is lush and rich and has a warmth that overtakes you. Amazing.
Best episode ever. I could see myself live there! Many of the videos are just minimalist recharge pods. I like to see creative people, plant lovers, someone with 10 surfboards, someone who runs a business from home, someone with 300 boardgames. And families, people with kids. Yes, we live in small spaces too. And apartments which don't have 4,5 m high ceilings. That cheating 😉, it is not small/tiny, it is two apartments on top of each other.
While "minimalism" is very trendy right now, i like that the homeowner knew from the start that he has no intention of reducing his collection but instead revealed that he will be adding more to his collection. "There's a place for everything and everything in its place" seems to be the direction of the design for this apartment. Good job homeowner for being true to yourself and good job to the designer for integrating your ideas to meet the homeowner's needs and expectation. Thank you @nevertoosmall for yet another great episode!
Maximalism is taking over now as a trend. But I say to each their own. I personally prefer having less things so minimalism works for me but I get that some people like to collect and keep things that express who they are.Maximalism works great for people with a collection of books/vinyl/figurines etc.
Agreed, I understand why minimalism is so attractive to many people, it isn't to me, in fact it kind of scares me....so I am really glad to see those who are still into having lots of stuff. I wonder how much that pod would be to build and install?
@@LynxieDove i guess minimalism is more about only having things that consistently serves a purpose or makes you content but not in a consumer-driven way, it's not necessarily about owning 20 or 50 things

@Hyperactive Tendencies Unless you have a different personality: most of the great artists, philosophers, designers, innovators didn't require empty clean space - just look up their workshops, offices, art studios. I like polished concrete, wood, steel and glass, I like minimalism as a skeleton of the creation (building's exterior or interior) but I dislike soulless atmosphere. When a designer chooses books by the colour of their cover or arts matching with cushions and curtains that is not minimalism. That is a fashionable and trendy staging for consumers and viewers.
@@susannegiesen2114 hey do u have any idea of what the gold mirrored paneling is called? I was trying to figure out an affordable way to do something like this.
The gold kitchen is probably the only thing I'd change. I like the gold with the pod - but it doesn't seem as functional and needed with the kitchen. Having it completely black might be too dark. But a nice middle wood color, light oak might work. I'd probably change the dining table and seats then too.
Finally! Somewhere with plants! It makes it look so alive and the pops of green work so well with the pops of colour from the artworks and the yellow dividing curtain.
This is my favourite apartment out of all of these Never Too Small videos. It breathes so much life and creativity as envisioned by the client and designer. Maybe I’m just biased because I love the plants.
Love this so much! A place that actually feels like a home and displays the owner's personality. Not filled with crap, generic decor put together by a designer. The gold mirrors are ingenious!
What a warm, inviting, and actually liveable space! It’s great to see a small space so full of life: sunlight, plants, art, and an individual who is also keeping in mind the comfort of their friends/family! Absolutely lovely 🌻
Pink What part of America are you talking about? An apartment like that could go for $1500 or more in some parts of America. The only way an apartment like that would be $400 is if it was a renovated low income subsidized apartment. I have 300sqft less space than this apartment and that costs $900 and I don’t live in the city.
By far my favorite episode of NEVER TOO SMALL. The space has been utilized amazingly, while simultaneously creating room for art and especially the plants. The architect has done a great job!
I have watched hundreds of small house videos but never one as beautiful and balanced and heart-warming as this one. Is this an aesthetic of the 70s ? Ok. So that is what I like 😀
This is one of my favorite ones yet!! The layout was made to be so spacious and holds a lot of fun character. And I love how unapologetic the client is in wanting to keep collecting things that they love. I'm a bit tired of seeing empty tiny spaces, so it's a relief to find a small space & someone who occupies it who finds joy in collecting and decorating.
This is a great work! Finally a design that has a life in it. When the minimalism is pushed so far it looks like a hidden path to depression for me. The lack of variety in material, color, texture, combined with the quest of hiding every possible little portion, for the sake of space delimitation, leaves you with a sterile space that for me looks more like the inside of a refrigerator. But i understand why many people like minimalism, it stays a personal preference and it could be a good choice for someone with a more dynamic lifestyle.
I wish people didn't see minimalism as "black or white" in terms of scale. There are different ways to do it and it certainly doesn't have to look sterile or colourless. I'm currently "minimalizing" my home in getting ready to be able to sell it in a few years. I'm looking at things that have gone unused and or/even looked at. Going more lighter and neutral in tones. Asking myself "am I keeping stuff or is stuff keeping me?" By minimlizing, I clearly see what is important and/or useful to me in the life I want to live. You just have to ask yourself why you want to do it, how you want the end result to be and go from there :)
This is one of my favorites episodes so far, because in this project we can see so much of care about the client needs and personal preferences, instead of looking like one space that nobody lives in. Definitely beautiful!!

Great use of space for function and design. I love how plants are use as part of the design especially the bathroom. The apartment is airy and spacious. Beautifully done!!
This is my favourite tiny home ever. So warm and a real home. So much personality to it and it doesn’t just feel like a “functional cube” but more like a cosy, comfy and lived in home
Wow. This is one of the most beautiful, unique and functional apartments I've seen. I relate to the home owner wanting plants in every corner and room. Makes a huge difference!
Yes! So many are depressing, like 'well you CAN live in x feet, but the only way to do it is to make an apartment that looks like a dormitory and live like a nun or a student in a hostel. You can't make it homey because that takes too much space. Things like this one prove that you can have a small space and still make it feel like a real home.
💀just started watching and saw this comment was thinking is this actually going to happen💀🤣 of course not realistic but for a good second I thought that
How about not only in Romania but in general? XD . 49m2 is not a small apartment, and this apartment differs from the other videos of modern practical small apartments of this channel but in general too. 2-4 persons can fit in it, or say a family with 1-2 children.
Totally! I live in the inner west of Sydney (like this person) and I don’t really know anyone with a two bedroom apartment all to themselves? The design is eclectic & beautiful but it’s a standard/ bigger apartment for someone in this area.
Please make videos of tiny Asian style apartments. I lived 6 years in this 20sqm apartment since I got here in Seoul for university. And I really tried to fit everything in this tiny space, but I'm not yet satisfied. I want to see a perfect design reference for the apartments like mine (with a small budget). That may help many people in the Asia.
It is incredible how spaces are used to the better way that they can be used, this show us that architecture can improve the quality of life of anyone regardless of where they live
I have been following the chanel for years and this is my all time favorite Appartement. The design is so clever and the interior desing aestetic is fun and warm. The gold finish of the central unit is probably my favorite element. Despite the many objects the space does not look cluttered. Kuddos to the designer.
Amazing job on the renovation, this apartment is definitely a haven for an artist. I myself have the exact same photo of the "woman wearing the hijab smoking" in my living area. My favorite exterior from this whole showcase would be the deep bathtub with a living plant beside it, incredible! That black cat statue on the coffee table looks really beautiful and I just love the bed-on-the-floor concept. All and all, another amazing video NEVER TOO SMALL 💕
@@luciwelch Hi, I got the photo from Tumblr really and just printed out poster size. The name of the artist is Sarah Maple, her style is very eccentric and you should look up her artwork. Hope I was able to help :)
I love everything that the mirror gold does for the hallway. It brings so much light into what would normally be a very dark area. The bathroom scheme amplifies the sunny effect as well. The bedroom/bathroom/hallway area has a very chic and Italian feel to it. It’s very romantic. The living room gives off a midcentury vibe that is so inviting that you want to go and spend time there and slow down whereas the studio area has a sleek feel to it, almost like a modern building. I think the storage pod is so well executed. I’m sure there would be an enormous market for it if they mass produced it.
this makes so much sense, i think small apartments should follow this format since its more common for younger working ppl to get smaller living spaces.
Really clever and inventive change to a one bedroom flat. It does seem huge without the walls and the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom taking up space. I like the bedroom nook and the invisible kitchen. I love all the plants, Tarzan rules!
Sneakily stunning! I'm an artist at heart but a minimalist in my mind. I didn't expect to like this tour but am pleasantly surprised. I think the completed renovation is a perfect balance between sensuality and serenity.

Wow. This is one of the most beautiful, unique and functional apartments I've seen. I relate to the home owner wanting plants in every corner and room. Makes a huge difference!
I like the over-scaled objects in a small room, like the cabinet, drapery wall, and artwork. These are great ways to give impact and style to a space.
This is hands down my favorite "never too small" flat so far, what a great job! I think I was starting to miss some colours and clutter.
Yes! So many are depressing, like 'well you CAN live in x feet, but the only way to do it is to make an apartment that looks like a dormitory and live like a nun or a student in a hostel. You can't make it homey because that takes too much space. Things like this one prove that you can have a small space and still make it feel like a real home.
“The client wanted trees so this mattress converts into a forest 🌳”
😂😂😂😂😂!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I laughed so much I cried 😂😂😂
@@CanadianPuddleDancer me too!!!
💀just started watching and saw this comment was thinking is this actually going to happen💀🤣 of course not realistic but for a good second I thought that
LOL ! A National Forest.
THis is the best. A variety of materials, colorful artwork, wooden furniture. Love it.
This is my favourite NTS revamp. I always come back to this video for inspiration
50 square-meters is a normal size apartment here on estern EUrope(Romania).
yeah, same in Poland
yeah, I was amazed at first how much they made out of the "small" apartment but then realized the sqm are standard for a two bedroom apartment
My flat in London was just under 30sqm and it was more than enough!
I agree. Though I don't know whether apartments in my country, Indonesia, have small rooms or not, since I haven't ever visited one
yas please, I am in S. KOREA and it is a nightmare
AGREEE
There was several in Hong Kong just before this one.
It’s so airy and clean looks like an oasis. Love it.
Wow, this space is just perfect! I’ve never seen anything I love more!
Nurul Ramlan where did you get the photo from, if you don’t mind me asking.
@@luciwelch Hi, I got the photo from Tumblr really and just printed out poster size. The name of the artist is Sarah Maple, her style is very eccentric and you should look up her artwork. Hope I was able to help :)
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, THE ARCHITECTURE, THE DESIGN, THE EDITING, THE CLIENTS ART AH YES I LOVE IT
I love everything that the mirror gold does for the hallway.
Love all the light and plants!!! Beautiful!
Beautiful designed and functional space. Lovely natural light, plants and arts. Perfect space for creative mind.
i love how it feels "real" and feel like you can really live in it...
this makes so much sense, i think small apartments should follow this format since its more common for younger working ppl to get smaller living spaces.
Really clever and inventive change to a one bedroom flat. It does seem huge without the walls and the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom taking up space. I like the bedroom nook and the invisible kitchen. I love all the plants, Tarzan rules!
This is my favourite episode yet, i have watched it multiple times i jsut want to live here
Sneakily stunning! I'm an artist at heart but a minimalist in my mind. I didn't expect to like this tour but am pleasantly surprised. I think the completed renovation is a perfect balance between sensuality and serenity.
omg. i've never seen such a beautiful yet cozy apartment. Thank you for introducing this to me, Nicholas Gurney is AMAZING
I love it, the owner has some very whimsical art and the gold and everything so 60s hippy
This is by far my favourite. Colorful, cheery, bright yet clean and functional. Doesn’t look like it’s everyday struggle to live here.
Love this appartment
wow the designer described the room and their thought process so eloquently... paired with the ambient music, it felt like i was in some sort of fairy tale haha
This video is amazingly calm and interesting in the same time.
I love to see plants inside the house
Finally, books, plants, and art studio. Saved this to plan my old age space. 😊
Smart design for comfort and functionality brought with the personality of the home owner, absolutely beautiful home
