Completely Unacceptable. Davey in an Enabler. I worked shortly for a guy years ago. He seemed normal enough but almost weekly his building was vandalized with graffiti that I never saw because he would paint over it before the employees showed up. Thought it was strange but kept doing my job. I showed up early one day and the graffiti was FU Pedo and other assorted Sex Offender related stuff. Confronted him and he gave me some BS story about being set up by the cops. I demanded my final check on the spot. Looked him up on Megan's Law website when I got home and Wow!!! Safe Sport is great, I have had to be part of it since the early 2000 with USA Hockey, and even now as a parent with little league. It’s easy and it hold people accountable.
There is a lot of grooming in karting too. Guys with money looking for junior drivers to “help bring them up.” Some are legit but there are a few that are just grooming and diddling kids and their parents let it happen bc they think they will help their kid make it to the big time. It’s sickening that the track owners continue to keep letting those kinda ppl come to their track. There should be some accountability.
I had a guy helping me in moto like that. Helped a lot of kids over the years. He was odd for sure, but never did anything inappropriate to me or anyone else that i know of. Pretty sure he was in the closet and just wanted a kid of his own. My dad for sure though asked me regularly if anything funny was happening. I'd travel to the races with him, Whitney, Ponca, etc, but it was always seperate beds and all. I think I was probably 14ish or maybe 15. I could see though how something like that could easily go the other way.

I can't remember who it was enough to name him. I believe it was 20 years or more ago when a former pro racer (at the time working in the motocross industry) was wearing loose shorts in a restaurant and had a ball fall out. He was charged with a sex crime.
This is an interesting situation. It's easy to say no to having this Story person around. I think one of the reasons for having the offender registry is so everyone knows who is an offender and to use their own judgement about being around these people. This is hard to share, but I fell victim to a near experience at the MTDR Loretta Lynn’s trail ride. I was just naive going there by myself and made a buddy I thought. Tried to get me into a cabin alone with him.

I fully understand that the competitiveness that made you a good racer carries over to this new career. A couple brutal diggers from speaking too quickly and delivering inaccurate info will ultimately get you to check up prior to hitting record. You may look like you're in the garage, but this venue is international in scope, serious, and extremely dangerous while impacting hundreds of millions of dollars ... You're in the deep end of the pool here, and your information must be meticulously accurate. Sorry for too much brain-dumping here, but I also want to help someone who I believe is a great asset to this niche marketplace. OK, Now to delve quickly into a subject that I wish I knew nothing of... In 1980 I was going to apply for my pro license, so I was a part of that era where no specific track was assigned to these big amateur events. I was so dejected and such a big crybaby when an experimental ACL/MCL reconstruction went bad, forcing me to quit and go to college that I never looked back or paid any attention to the sport for 36 yrs; consequently, when I returned, I had 36 yrs of catching up with old friends, reading and watching hundreds of hours of videos vacuuming everything on our sport since the 1960s. When I watched a documentary about Lorettas and saw that her home had "ghosts," my mouth fell open, and I was stunned by how naive seemingly most visitors were about going near or through this home on tours. I was also stunned that no one in decision-making positions didn't recognize the danger. Unfortunately, I know far too much about the occult and how it spreads, so I can say confidently that those who expose themselves to these spirits invite demonic influences into their lives (obviously not everyone). No spinning heads or Hollywood nonsense; however, a portion of these young racers & family members will be subtly targeted for many years after their seemingly innocuous visit. There are also, but not always, people who have been exposed to these "hot spots" who find themselves caught in actions that even repulse them. I would beg everyone going onto that property to avoid the house, and those you know are ensnared in perverse activities. Returning to a floating venue appears to be better for the sport, in my opinion.

Guys with money looking for junior drivers to “help bring them up.” Some are legit but there are a few that are just grooming and diddling kids and their parents let it happen bc they think they will help their kid make it to the big time. It’s sickening that the track owners continue to keep letting those kinda ppl come to their track. There should be some accountability.

I had a guy helping me in moto like that. Helped a lot of kids over the years. He was odd for sure, but never did anything inappropriate to me or anyone else that i know of. Pretty sure he was in the closet and just wanted a kid of his own. My dad for sure though asked me regularly if anything funny was happening. I'd travel to the races with him, Whitney, Ponca, etc, but it was always seperate beds and all. I think I was probably 14ish or maybe 15. I could see though how something like that could easily go the other way.

The fact is, there were motorcycles, and motorcycles racing long before Davey Coombs and company and they will race long after they are gone. I can't remember who it was enough to name him. I believe it was 20 years or more ago when a former pro racer (at the time working in the motocross industry) was wearing loose shorts in a restaurant and had a ball fall out. He was charged with a sex crime.

This is an interesting situation. It's easy to say no to having this Story person around. I think one of the reasons for having the offender registry is so everyone knows who is an offender and to use their own judgement about being around these people. This might be that solution, verses, keeping a person from being able to get work which can cause more problems for society. Then people can say I get this but don't let them around kids. There will be some that will howl with derision at what I am about to say. These are often, but not always, those who want these subjects buried and never discussed... to capitulate to their vitriol would not be best for our sport and those within it.
I have nothing to gain here, and this started with me having a positive opinion of Davey (and I still do).
You, Cooksey, I have to admit that I initially didn't have a very positive opinion of you; however, I eventually saw a man who had many good insights into the sport with occasional signs of brilliance. You won my respect and appreciation when I would see that you would be willing to be a Pariah for the sake of the sport and its riders.
Few are willing to speak up when their opinions impact their wallets or egos. I have seen you pay a high price personally, professionally, and ultimately financially in order to graciously and professionally approach tough subjects at times.
I would encourage you to slow down and double-check things prior to speaking about your chosen subject. I fully understand that the competitiveness that made you a good racer carries over to this new career. A couple brutal diggers from speaking too quickly and delivering inaccurate info will ultimately get you to check up prior to hitting record. You may look like you're in the garage, but this venue is international in scope, serious, and extremely dangerous while impacting hundreds of millions of dollars ... You're in the deep end of the pool here, and your information must be meticulously accurate.

OK, Now to delve quickly into a subject that I wish I knew nothing of...
In 1980 I was going to apply for my pro license, so I was a part of that era where no specific track was assigned to these big amateur events. I was so dejected and such a big crybaby when an experimental ACL/MCL reconstruction went bad, forcing me to quit and go to college that I never looked back or paid any attention to the sport for 36 yrs; consequently, when I returned, I had 36 yrs of catching up with old friends, reading and watching hundreds of hours of videos vacuuming everything on our sport since the 1960s.
When I watched a documentary about Lorettas and saw that her home had "ghosts," my mouth fell open, and I was stunned by how naive seemingly most visitors were about going near or through this home on tours. I was also stunned that no one in decision-making positions didn't recognize the danger.
Unfortunately, I know far too much about the occult and how it spreads, so I can say confidently that those who expose themselves to these spirits invite demonic influences into their lives (obviously not everyone).
No spinning heads or Hollywood nonsense; however, a portion of these young racers & family members will be subtly targeted for many years after their seemingly innocuous visit.
There are also, but not always, people who have been exposed to these "hot spots" who find themselves caught in actions that even repulse them.
I would beg everyone going onto that property to avoid the house, and those you know are ensnared in perverse activities.
Returning to a floating venue appears to be better for the sport, in my opinion.
