Geeze, those air coolers really beat the oil up! 10k of hard driving on the street in a turbo car doesn't get that dark. How do you like the Jab? I read about the earlier issues and my wife wants the best safety possible, and I want the most HP lol. If it fits, you could run a bigger filter for a bit more capacity and margin... I do that on my race car and use the biggest filter I can find. When putting on the filter, I thought it was supposed to be 3/4 turn from gasket contact?
I purchased a Sonex that was completely built it had a Jabiru 3300 but the RPM's are reading high. I was wondering if you have any idea's on how to check to see if the EIS is reading right? I have tried a laser tachometer on the prop but was unable to get a good reading.
Jeff, good to see some more videos. Thanks
AVLAB recommended taking the sample when the oil is hot. If you let it cool the contamination may settle to the bottom giving a false reading.
Do you note the use if Seafoam on the paperwork sent to the oil analysis lab? Any concerns the Seafoam skewing the lab's findings?
Nice job
Hi Jeff: What Generation Jabiru is this?

How much torque did you use to secure the Curtis 90 degree adapter? I snapped the brass bolt in half while attempting to install mine today.

when I bought the Sonex it only had 1 hour on it, the builder only had it in the air for an hour.
You can purchase optical tachometers from ebay or amazon that should work.
