I was surprised to see you buy veggie broth. My son is grown now so my time is different but formore than a decade I've been saving my veggie trimmings and making my own broth. So easy. Just bring to boil then simmer 15 minutes. I save my veggie trimmings in a ziplock bag in the freezer until I need more broth. If I make too much broth I freezer in 2 cup serving sizes. I've saved so much money. But, again, I only had one kid but it's alsoreally really easy.

This is EXACTLY the video I need! Hardly anyone addresses how difficult it is to make the change to vegan not for lack of motivation, but because it is a daunting task to plan, grocery shop, and cook in a new way. It just is. And you make it soooo much easier! This is wonderful ! ❤

Exactly!! I have been a pantry chef for decades. Other than the veggies and fruit not grown in my garden, I shop rarely. I keep grains, legumes, various canned products, leavenings, spices, and herbs--enough for at least a year. It's all fresh because I constantly rotate through it. Because our house doesn't have a pantry, we got a pax closet system from IKEA for a wall in our dining room. The designer doors make it look pretty; nobody knows there are bins and cans of food inside. I bake my own bread in tiny quantities because it's like crack to me. I also do grocery delivery from WF and bulk stuff by mail; in the end, it is cheaper because I don't purchase emotionally. This way of life is such a comfort and joy.

Then I would shop accordingly. Then I would try to see how far I could go without shopping again on the food that was still left . Then I would do the grid plan again. Hah..!! You just provided me with the perfect list of foods for my WFPB lifestyle...and...recipes to look up on your channel later on. I don't have Whole Foods delivery in my area but I'm checking on being able to pick it up at the closest location. I'm inspired, again..! Thank you..!

Suggestion: put your root vegetable that do not need refrigeration in a plastic or cloth bin in the pantry.

Love it. I also love that your fridge drawer was bitty with leafy stuff. So's mine. Maybe I should get on that... That's not all I'm taking from your video though. I'm jealous that you guys can get so much more stuff that side of the planet. I'm in the UK. so much harder to get some of those convenience stuff in WFPB. And very expensive.

I love this idea. And I would love to spend less than $100 a week on groceries. My family is not plant based though I've tried many times over the years. I have 3 boys ages 12, 11 and 8 and they are big eaters. The 12 year old eats like an adult now. So I would love to see a few days of what you entire family eats in a day. I just need ideas for my kids and husband to keep it from being boring. When I tried it in the past I felt like they responded with "oh .. Rice and beans again." No matter how I changed up the flavors. Not that we were having that every day. But it felt too repetitive for them I guess. Teach me!! 😁

I totally understand! Many times we don’t eat the same things, I just make sure to make them easy stuff too so I’m not cooking like crazy. I’ll try to make a video of what we all eat in a day.

This is a great video for me. I kinda struggle with the mindset of eating from my pantry. I have plenty, but my mind thinks I need a particular recipe when I don’t...just whole foods in their simplest form.

This is exactly what I do. I very rarely have to buy something for a specific recipe, if I do, it's almost always some sort of produce item. In fact, one thing I rarely have is vegan yogurt so I just don't make recipes with it. LOL

I find myself feeling ok about having more than one type of fruit per day.... somewhere in my brain I have ideas of what eating needs to be and I need a new script... I just saw a Pinterest post of a pic of slivers of carrots in oatmeal like carrot cake oatmeal...what? Sounds so good!
