Woo hoo!!! ❤❤❤ I hid that hefty piece of brass (and a couple other goodies) in one of Jimmy's shops when I first got to meet him at Maker Camp 2022. Wasn't sure he'd ever even find them. Haha! So cool to see it get used like this! Thanks Jimmy!
Big love for when you make a knife using some white-painted tools. Reminds me of when I first started watching you in that little, NY basement. Thanks for all the years.
Jimmy , I remember in your podcasts on serveral occasiobs over the years you have commented on how your knife making skills wasn't ready. After seeing you do this project, I for one think you have graduated in knife making abilities. Thank you again for continuing to show off your skills to all of us. 🙏
I loved the way you showed the finish product a couple of times throughout, especially when it was a close up of what you were working on while you were working on it. Great use of storytelling in a simple and well done way.
Glorious transformation: Leaf spring to knife of the phantom rider, harmony with the boots & day, such a splendid watch on all hallows day with so much teaching & skill transfer. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Jimmy. Your inspiration to me and others is over the top. I think it is time to get some rose wood and replace the handles on my wife's knifes. Thanks for taking the time to show and share your work. 🙏
Those boots are wicked awesome, but of course, they don't have the cool ones in women's sizes, oh well... awesome blade and wonderful video showing all of the processes. Nailed it!! ❤
Got so involved in the making process I completely missed the shape of the handle 😂 Your bandsaw carving skills…..even with brass. So much to see in this video .
Jimmy, such amazing talents you have! I could sit here and watch you do that all day! One of those projects that when you wake up the next day and look at what you have achieved. Those boots are one of a kind!
6:21 So true and so well put! I remember meeting Jimmy in Zanesville (where I'm from orig.) at Saunders Machine Works during an open house a few years ago. It was awesome!
I’ve always loved how Jimmy takes time at the end of his videos to admire the finished piece. Good work! I’ve been meaning to start learning the art of knife making. I have most of the tools, I just need to start. I think now I’ll start.
Bro I would love to be a fly on the wall of your shop watching you create for a day. I would sit there quietly in awe of all the cool things you can do.
Always worth to see a master where he picks to cut a corner or chooses to eat the toad alive - one always can learn more. Especially here at Maser Jimmy who walks the talk.
When I saw the thumb nail I thought you had made a casting for the cross guard …never in a million years would I have guessed it was done on a bandsaw and a dremmel … absolute beast of a knife , well done sir !
Awesome Bowie Jimmy. Love how it's still got some of the hammer marks and the skulls really set it off. TBH, wouldn't have surprised me if you had made those boots too. 👍
Very cool that you can see a piece of art hiding in an old rusty leaf spring, and have the skills to breathe life into your vision. Great transformation, but I gotta get in the peanut gallery comment that brass rivets on the sheath instead of copper would’ve been nicer.
Its really cool to see all the various tools that can be brought to bear on a project like this. Compared to ye olde tymes when all this and more was done by hand, its really cool to see how far you've come as a blacksmith and we've come with technology for making things.
That's some knife, Jimmy. At first, I thought you were going to cast the skulls for the pommel. I think maybe you created the art of carving on the bandsaw!

Thats cool!!
Andrew this is SO Awesome man! Seriously.
That was awesome Andrew! There was definitely some Maker Camp magic in 2022. 👍
That’s so cool hahaha
Cuando sea grande quiero ser como yimmi diresta 😮
Big love for when you make a knife using some white-painted tools. Reminds me of when I first started watching you in that little, NY basement. Thanks for all the years.
Jimmy is just new boot goofin
A knife project that's already drawn real blood. Adding to the pirate kingdom. Amazing build. Thanks for sharing.
I saw Crocodile Dundee when I was a kid, and I've been a knife nut ever since. It's hard to beat a classic Bowie.
That’s not a knife…
@owenandlibbygower8471
that's a knife 🔪
@@allenwilson9656That's a noyf...
I saw crocodile Dundee when I was a kid and I’ve using a bidet to clean my boots ever since.
@jeremyspecce OH, I understand! It's for washing your backside afterwards!
6:20 ❤ I started my channel because I found your videos 10 years ago 😄
That's one of the coolest coffin handle bowie knives I've ever seen. It looks like it belongs to an evil gunslinger in a western movie.
Lee Van Cleef would be perfect if he was still alive.
@@chinanorthairguns Yes! Or maybe Ed Harris as The Man In Black in West World.

💖
The coffin-shaped knife handle it's amazing!!!
DUDE!! I didn't even catch that! *Bonus! ⚰️

In all of my years, I have never seen ANYONE work a bandsaw like Jimmy, its always a pleasure to watch!
Thanks Jimmy. Your inspiration to me and others is over the top. I think it is time to get some rose wood and replace the handles on my wife's knifes. Thanks for taking the time to show and share your work. 🙏

This is the good old jimmydiresta that I subscribed to a long time ago. thank you for the video in the best traditions of the channel.
I love bowie knives more than any other knife in the world! 🤩🤩❤❤
I like this a lot. Jimmy spends as much time on the knife as the sheath. Both look great.
Really enjoyed the sneak peeks, of the finished knife, throughout the process.👍
Jimmy, such amazing talents you have! I could sit here and watch you do that all day! One of those projects that when you wake up the next day and look at what you have achieved. Those boots are one of a kind!

Came out awesome!!! It’s definitely crocodile Dundee approved!!! 🤙 (now that’s a knife)

Old leaf spring to beautiful bowie knife! What a work of art.
You have a Maker’s dream workshop!!🙌🏼
Now that’s a knife!!! Amazed at the ability to use a bandsaw and dremel tool to carve those skulls. Not surprised, but definitely AMAZED.
Incredible. Andrew is gonna be so excited.
What a magnificent piece of work 🍺
Beautiful work! I love watching the whole process, especially your carving the skulls on the bandsaw.
Brilliant in every way 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, and boy “those boots were made for working🎼🎼”🙏🏻😎
You have quite the collection of boots with knives that go with them. Great vid
jimmy diresta, el maker con mas herramientas en el planeta tierra y alrededores, todo acompañado de mucha calildad 👏
Jimmy makes everything look easy
That thing is straight up gorgeous
That slow motion at the heat treating was nail-biting. I think Jimmy’s slow-mo accidents have traumatized me for life. 4:33
Holy moly bro! Beautiful blade. Super talented! The guard, the sheath, the blade. Perfection! 👌🏻
The ARTIST shines through when you are at the top of your game.
Stanfield Works said it eloquently, and I share their sentiment. Thank you Jimmy.
Bro I would love to be a fly on the wall of your shop watching you create for a day. I would sit there quietly in awe of all the cool things you can do.
When I first saw the thumbnail, I said to myself, that’s a cool spatula for a flat top! Still would be!!
Jimmy a true craftsman. Everything you produce inspires me, fantastic job!
Wow! Jimmy is amazing! It takes me 5 days to make a knife handle.
Always a pleasure to see a craftsman at work, especially when we get an episode of the bandsaw artist along with it.
Wow! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! 😍😍😍
Always worth to see a master where he picks to cut a corner or chooses to eat the toad alive - one always can learn more. Especially here at Maser Jimmy who walks the talk.
Amazing level of craftsmanship
Jimmy, your talent never ceases to amaze me!😮
Watching Jimmy Diresta use a band saw makes you realize that gods do walk amongst us!
Great film making. Cool future shot inserts of your intentions. Gorgeous knife and sheath. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🙏🐒
What a fantastic knife, well done. Also...I have anvil envy.
90degree corners on the blade-handle transition on a hard work knife with unshown/incomplete heat-treatment that this is strait up going to SNAP!!!!
I did all the heat treat steps . It’s boring on camera. I leave it out of the edit. And it invites trolls and dialogue 💪🏼
Absolutely amazing what an awesome knife so cool to watch you make it from start to finish a true artist and craftsmen 👏👏👏
Thank you so much for this video!!!❤❤❤
Gotta love the blood that goes into a Jimmy Diresta Edit! The Master! Happy Halloweenie!
''Hahaha....that's a not a knife. That's a KNIFE!'' - Crocodile Dundee 🗡
Excellent work as usual sir! Very fitting knife for the day the video was published.
The coffin handle and the skulls, super cool and fitting for spooky season
Wicked looking pig sticker you got there. I think the carved skulls on the guard are my favorite part. Thanks for sharing!
Skulltastic work as always
Freaking awesome ! A cut above the rest !
Very cool and well done
A Masterpiece...
OUTSTANDING
💯👍✌
Great artist/craftsman combo, your fluidity with the tools is most impressive.
So cool! Now that's a knife!
Jimmy all that knife needs is rubies in the skull eye holes. Truly an inspirational knife…in so many ways. 16:33
So nice! You make it look so easy, but those of us who make, know better.
When I saw the thumb nail I thought you had made a casting for the cross guard …never in a million years would I have guessed it was done on a bandsaw and a dremmel … absolute beast of a knife , well done sir !
Likewise, I assumed the guard had been cast. That it was created with shop tooling instead shows me the real skill involved. Kudos!
Awesome build! Very cool grind on the knife and a neat grinding setup!
Awesome job, Jimmy!! Knife looks sick!!
I love the leatherwork Jimmy!
Awesome Bowie Jimmy. Love how it's still got some of the hammer marks and the skulls really set it off.
TBH, wouldn't have surprised me if you had made those boots too. 👍
Beautifully done, Jimmy. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Holloween Jimmy, thanks for the video.
This was an awesome build. I know from the podcast these last few videos are under tight time pressure but I personally think they're among your best!
Thank you! ☺️
Great combination of elements and perfect companion to the boots!
Crazy beautiful bowie, Jimmy! That's a real work of art! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Wow! Jimmy, that is one badass knife and sheath. From a piece of rusty metal and some materials on hand, you've made a really cool usable blade!
Awesome!
Love the sheath just as much as the knife.
Dang dude, that is a beautiful Bowie!
Now that would get me to the front of Saturday night taxi queue in Glasgow. 🥃🏴
Wow wow wow, love it 😱😍😍😍😛
you got some extreme drive there mate. keep it up

This is amazing! Good job again
happy halloween and happy podcast anniversary! been a fun ride listening to you guys over the years!

Hello Jimmy beautiful knife beautifully made good job well done
Just another awesome product
Awesome work Jimmy! Those little skulls sure give it the flare--cool design.
That's some knife, Jimmy. At first, I thought you were going to cast the skulls for the pommel. I think maybe you created the art of carving on the bandsaw!
Absolutely amazing work; so many skills on display here.
Very cool
Great work man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⚒️🔥👍🏻
Amazing detail👍👍
Heck of a letter opener! Nice.
