I've been watching you guys since before I could drive, so 14-15 years? I turn 30 in a few months. I don't know if this message will get seen but thanks for all the videos and happiness you bring to everyone, the few times I've felt down I've always found watching your videos has helped me. You helped me discover my love for cars all those years ago and i found my best friends through that passion. I live in the UK and pick up my Volkwagen up! GTI on Friday and your videos helped me decide it was time to get a smaller, less silly car. Thanks for everything and I can't wait to see your next video.
The radiator noises are so perfect and the deadpan delivery is so consistent, I remember when I found this channel 10 years ago I LEGIT thought they made these noises
Did anyone else notice the wheeled seat in the background moving by itself from the 14:01 time mark? It literally wheeled itself across the background by itself
The thing that NO other channel has like Mighty Car Mods is the genuine mateship Marty and Moog have. The convo, the banter and laughter is so genuine. You're just two blokes pissing around with cars and bringing us along for the ride. Don't ever do what the Wiggles did and try and bring in a new line up when you are ready to retire. We noticed and the Wiggles are shit now.
I need more of you two jamming out!! I’d love to see a video of your creative process!! Or even just you two jamming in the studio together!! So great!!
I've done a lot of catback exhausts over the years, and by far the best one I've ever installed was an HKS for a WRX. The craftsmanship, fitment, and sound were absolutely perfect.
This is MCM at its best, the old workshop, fixing their cars lying on the ground, or on their knees, just like they used to do, and rest of us have to. Love it. I've always thought the Copen was a proper little bit of kit. I'm resisting the urge to go to Autotrader or eBay for a browse😁
Watching u guys after all these years and still seem like best friends. That's what makes this show so good. Ty guys for everything u do and for what your going to do.
I have been in Okinawa since 1989 and have managed to enjoy so many JDM cars. My L880k Copen has been one of the best cars from factory checking off all the boxes for a sports car. 17 inch rims are a world of difference in the quarter mile, and for daily driving. Glad to see you guys got your hands on one. Great power upgrade is engine swap from a Storia.
There are so many UA-camrs doing the same thing as each other "I found the cheapest *Blah blah* and it was bad" etc and I get so bored of them, I've followed you guys from the driveway days and not once have I got bored of you guys, probably because you keep it real. Keep up the work guys.
I grew up (USA) as a teen watching mighty car mods several years ago when yall were in a small garage. It’s crazy how far you guys have come. huge inspiration to me as a kid, and definitely a staple in the car community 🤟
Re The tiny little intercooler. Get a motorbike rad cooling fan and stick it on the intercooler to run all the time with ignition. I used this method on old 80's Saab 900 turbos like WaSaabi and it worked well. They have a similar but slightly larger intercooler. Im currently building a track car and that has a big 12" high volume fan on the intercooler with water spray also. Max cooling !.
not going to comment on the ghost chair and while I incidentally commented on the ghost chair that musical interlude was top-notch. classic MCM style. Marty's rhythm and Moog's opening notes giving off some strange old-school AirWolf theme vibes.
The best thing about your guy's content is that you are yourselves. You inspire people to be genuine which is a rare thing on the internet these days! Looking forward to collaborating with you guys in the future😉😉
Moog always reminds me of my dad especially with the hat on who passed away a few years back, we never got to work on a car together but now I am working through a 240z, still some of my favorite episodes are of the 240 they did! Keep doing what you do!
Your passion for fun with cars is contagious. Absolutely love the feel of MCM and garlic breads! Because My wife likes VW I need to support Moog but Marty, my heart is behind you!
I'd much rather do that to a jdm car civic, eclipse 97 awd, or a miata For that much i could have a clean starting platform plus a whole lot of engine, suspension, and drivetrain mods This reminds me of a ford pinto combined with a beetle
@UwU-pk6nv it definitely has a community that butchers the cars but back roads or mountains very fun cars But if i were to spend 50+ thousand including the car the those would be my choices i through in the AWD eclipse cause that'd save me money where as converting a civic to AWD is very expensive Now to say i couldn't do that to a na/miata for less and reliability plus the 4 cylinder supra engine bay space for conversions Mind you I'm 6'2" and anything to low is painful to get in out of. Now i wouldn't go to the extent that ginguim did with his miata on lifting it but I'd do something similar on awd conversion Subaru chassis and drivetrain but I'd add a b20 honda motor or a small v6 no boost and it'd be hella fun and be able to handle snow with breeze For me the most overrated car is the Toyota corolla
Just one time in my life, I want to modify a car like this. Have the privilege to order just a TON of parts at once. Have em all rock up at the house and unbox it all and get to installing. It’s like Christmas for your car and for your soul
22:50 I'll add to that, one good piece of kit for easy soldering wires on cars are those shrink wraps with bit of solder in the middle. Personally I don't own a portable soldering iron and those have been working great for all the wires that have had the need for proper joining. Twisting is good for testing a thing, but it shouldn't be a permanent solution.
Please check the Sprint Filter air filters, they are infinitely reusable without any kind of grease or goop, and they filter particles smaller than most aftermarket air filters while providing better airflow than average (and that any factory air filter).
The production values of you and your team are amazing! You guys rock!!! Your work ethic, your friendship, your dedication to fun, and your excitement and honesty about what you do is admirable and inspiring! Good on you mate!
As the whole comment section is made up of ”ghost chair”. This is not fun, they’ve had serious problems with ghosts in the workshop.. It has been going for years..
Dude having problem finding "k car wheels" 😂 15x7+35 4x100 is like 1992-2002 Toyota Corolla spec wheels, miata apec wheels, where im from you rattle a tree and those wheels fall off.
After Moog's dad died, his whole demeanour changed. I've watched MCM for the last 14 years, and its weird to say you're proud of someone you've never met, but I feel proud of him for keeping going. It must be so hard, and yet, the quality videos keep coming. To be honest, i feel so lucky the material keeps getting released. Seems too good to be true based on what the boys have been through over the years.
My 2nd car was an 1986 FC RX7 and the first thing I did was spend $265 on an HKS just like the one in the pic 4:25, that was such a big purchase for me being 17 years old, this was in 2000-2001. I can remember just how disappointed I was when it arrived, just the filter & adapter, no cool intake piping like my buddies Honda's got, nope just a foam mushroom filter & an adapter to fit the AFM 🤦♂, sure sounded fantastic, the factory intake tube on it was close to about 90mm. Really good sound around 7000RPM with stock everything else.
Nice work. Had a heavily modified Copen with a 356 Porsche look kit in Seoul for a couple of years. As a city car it gave way more smiles per hour than my Lotus.
Regarding the twist & tape, and soldering discussion: I used to always solder wire connections in cars thinking it was the "right way". Then one day, after going through a couple OEM harnesses I realized there wasn't a single solder joint in any factory wiring I ever saw. Turns out OEMs don't solder wires together for good reason; solder joints aren't the strongest and most durable connections. Instead they use crimps, and where necessary shrink tubing.
FREAKING MCM being creative again and again with the chair/cart/stool how its called @ 14:00 !!! FREAKING GENIUS GUYS again, dunno how u did it but u did it.
I would have gone for the N/A Impreza... There's a lot of fun to be had in an Impreza, and they do surprisingly well in MotorKhana's as the amount of power doesn't overwhelm the amount of grip... and that's what slows down the much faster cars!
Heat shrink solder sleeves are a life saver, slip it over the wire, then heat it with a heatgun and it solders the wires together, shrinks over the wires and glues the ends into the wrap and seals them up at the same time
23:24 Yes I wanna do it the right way: CRIMP IT! You can get multi gauge crimp pliers with a huge set of muffs for different wire gauges for very little money. You don't "seep" tin into the wires, making the stiff section longer than it needs to be, you don't accidentally heat damage the insulation, you don't have to worry about the quality of your solder joints AND it's faster! There's a reason everything is crimped on new cars. The soldering iron is dead except for the few niche applications, where space is at such a premium that nothing else will do.
The intercooler duet made me cry from laughter. Thank you for that. Cheers. edit: the new wheels looks incredible by the way. Makes for a very stylish baguette!
It’s going to be great! My wife had a new Copen here in NZ great car had it for 11 years and never went wrong, still see it about in town in Nelson, wish all these parts had been available when we owned it!
Cant wait to get my mistry box, i bought it because your BIG BLOCK MUDBOX engine conversion video, watched parts of it @1/4 speed to see what you where doing and did my own 1.5 swift engine conversion in my DUST-BOX CHEERS fellas
it doesn't matter what the up conversion cost. you got the only one in aus. and the process is the key. up gti have been discontinued everywhere and prices are already rising in uk
I have a log book for the cars I have. Any oil change to detailing the cars to engine replace to brake pads. I don't put gas fill ups but I might start that with my 65 ford truck. Put even free easy fix by just modify a pinch weld hammered flat for wheel clearance and strength. I just won't add up the cost in those books.
I once bought an XD Falcon ute, spent 30 thousand on it over ten years, and then sold it in 2020 for only 15 without an engine to keep a roof over my head during the pandemic. Can't say I feel that was worth it haha
Love you guys, especially the message behind your Christmas special. Unfortunately, I am too broke to afford anything on your store right now, but I’ve bought things before and I want to score some more merch/support the channel again when I have a chance ❤
Chaps love this video, and love this little car, it is 100% unique - now both the Up and the Garlic roll are similar in their uniqueness...well done...your roots are shining through...
I've just come back from Japan, and the amount of Toyota & Daihatsu nuggets was just insane!! Even the small 4wd little mini van style ones were all over the ski slopes covered in snow and I now want one 😂
While stationed in Japan I always wanted a copen. Liberty walk makes a wide body kit for the new version of this car makes it look like a tiny R35😂 so badass!
Man I remember these back in my mid 20s in mid 2000s. So weird and so cool. I think like $25000 new. Datsun soon closed after these came out here in Australia
G'day Moog and Marty. I'm anxious to see another Mighty Moto Mods video like with the Bonnie and the Trail 125. I mean... you';re already the best off road channel here on UA-cam so I believe that becoming the best motorcycle channel is also within reach. Anyway, keep doing what you do, plus bikes, because we love it. Each video you produce reminds me of the first one I wactched. The one on your mum's driveway.
Just 24 hours left of our lucky dip when you spend $40 or more on the Mighty Car Mods shop
- mightycarmods.com/collections
Where's the supra already? And where's the hilux content at?
The creeper moving behind Marty😂😂😂☠️
Did you get a Dyno of before?
Nice guitar playing Marti.
Did you know that a "Weird Beard" exists on UA-cam? Look him up Moog & Marty.
Mighty Ghost Mods at 14:00 😂
LMAO
I was just about to comment this lol
i saw it too and was like wtf is going on here......
I couldn’t see any wires. 👻
Mighty Ghost Carts!

Thanks for the kind message, enjoy the Up! you'll love it (until you come to your senses and get an Evo9)
Also from the UK. Hope you enjoy the up! 👍🏽

What the hell is the little cart doing at 14:10 ?????????
old mcm shed is haunted, has been for a while...
yah we glad to see the guy making himself useful for once. seems like the coordination aint on point tho
Came here to say this
I seen that. 😂
I swear its 's possessed!
18:34 intercooler jam was epic! More of this please!!!!
These legends rock so hard. What a wicked little jam!!
Has a slight Halo theme vibe
BRO AT 14:02 that stool in the back gets a mind of its own!!!!
It's just camera shy
That intercooler sounds great. It must have taken a lot of editing to make it look like Marty is playing the guitar.
I'm not even gonna bother.....
Pure quality sound.
@@Mardy72 ayo its him
@@David-eq8wf I know mate. I wasn't going to bother arguing with the OP is what I meant
Both Marty and Blair are extremely talented musicians. It's how they met all those many years ago.
14:00 ghost chair!
It's just camera shy
It just went on a journey of discovery on the other side of the garage!!!!
The fact that Moog played those notes in his head while jamming with Marty on the guitar... So good
No one going to mention the chair moving on by itself in the backround🤣
I know I just saw that too!!!!
I came to the comments for this LOL !!
Literally the same as above😂
Haha I just saw too 😅
GHOST STOOL IS STOOLING
So casual, "45". Insert glorious laughter 😃
Thank you guys so much for being 2 guys in a shed no matter the level of success you have had!
aside from the ghost chair, can we just appreciate the HKS bits that are just insanely nice quality? man that stuff is nuts
Appreciate them even more after the shit show of “bolt on” parts that was the up.
The radiator noises are so perfect and the deadpan delivery is so consistent, I remember when I found this channel 10 years ago I LEGIT thought they made these noises
Wait, what? They don't?
If you think about how much time and effort it must take them to sync the harp with the strumming, it's even more impressive.
Did anyone else notice the wheeled seat in the background moving by itself from the 14:01 time mark? It literally wheeled itself across the background by itself
It's for engagement, camera operator was pulling strings because the camera was on a tripod😂 classic MCM.
Returning MCM skit. Just like the bare foot showing up at (in)appropriate times.
Ad placement
Thought so too. Probably standing behind the roofbox with some fishing line. Fun detail though@@HandicapRacer
New to the channel? 😅
Could not smash the like button enough at the Intercooler testing method. 😂❤

@14:05 The ghosts start moving the cheaper seat. Look behind the back bumper. It rolled to where the jack stands were holding the rear up.
Yeah nothing new. They do this to spice up the boring parts
@mediocreman2 I figured it was someone behind the car. Bit of string. Just trying to get a rise.

Anyway, keep doing what you do, plus bikes, because we love it. Each video you produce reminds me of the first one I wactched. The one on your mum's driveway.
The intercooler tunes are still amongst my favourite MCM bits :)
That jam session rocked. That intercooler sounds great. I can never keep mine in tune.
Its good to see them back at the little shop again
