About NYT Cooking:
All the food that’s fit to eat (yes, it’s an official New York Times production).
I'm a Korean-American millennial that's always been too lazy to make bibimbap at home because of the pressure of making dolsot bibimbap similar to the way my mom would. This sheet pan version is everything. Thank you!!!
Eric is such a lovely host, please feature him more!
Is he like the cutest human being on earth and also like good at cooking? I need him more in NYT Cooking thanks people!
HE IS SO CUTE. I can't handle it! Also this recipe looks amazing!
Facts
And offered some to the crew!
Truly the cutest
Yes. FACTS. LOVE!!
Kim: i cried when you told the story about cooking with your mom. i did that last year, we were preparing her always dreamed cookbook but she died early this year. still: your story gave me the moment to remember how much of a treasure it was and it will be for me to be able to share that with her. thanks thanks thanks!!! i watch you from Mexico City :)
As a Korean that grew up throwing various banchan from the fridge together in a large bowl with gochujang, sesame seed oil, and MAYBE a friend egg, this is the fanciest, the most gorgeous version I've ever seen! I bet it really comes together even more if you add some of the traditional banchan elements, like oi muchim and various Namul. It's crazy how much I grew up with a large variety of banchan always available in my fridge, and now I'm living away from my mom, it seems like a luxury :) Looks amazing, thank you for a great recipe!
we really take the banchan for granted
friend egg~~~~~~
I try, but it's so much work! I keep jars and stuff, but never get around to it.
American hipsters be like: Can I parallelize Namul production using the sheet pan?🤔
Omg this young man is so sweet. Also lots of emotions with the four square shout out.
the captions at 1:04 calling it "peeping pop it" is killing meeee
😂
Oh my god it’s so much funnier because they’re not even auto captions someone actually typed out pepping pop it 😭😭
When you’re spying on someone but you also want to dance
Haha I noticed that! Peep peep pop!! 😂
as someone who needs CCs for accessibility it's actually really frustrating. they mess it up a bunch of times and make other errors too - like "shape pan" rather than "sheet pan". it seems like they just put auto generated captions in for the proper ones and didn't bother checking them. they don't even do manually entered in CCs at all anymore so it's not really a surprise that they were so careless with this.
Bibimbap looks amazing, but can we PLEASE talk about how adorable Eric is, and how much I want him to be my friend?
omg i love his energy!! he’s so calm and soothing to listen to :]

So I'm adopted and am just now coming around to learning how to make Korean food--so glad this popped up in my recommendations! This looks great!
Update: I made it last week and it's a keeper :D
@@manders76 Awesome! My mom is Korean, but she never had the patience to have another person in the kitchen with her, so she never taught me how to make stuff. I only learned how to make bulgogi by accident, when I mixed soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha together to make a beef marinade. It smelled oddly familiar, so I asked mom, and she said, yep, that's not far off from bulgogi. Of course, sriracha is not a traditional ingredient, and it was missing a few key ingredients, so I've tinkered over the years, but it has been such a delight.
Anyway, please keep learning more! Some other channels you vould check out are Maangchi and Aaron & Claire. Some of my favorites are buldak, pork bulgogi, jjajangmyeon, tteokbokki, haemul pajeon, and miyeokguk. Oh, and don't forget the banchan either, like spinach, bean sprouts, pickled daikon, and more. Enjoy exploring Korean food!
@@Nightriser271828 Oh, Maangchi is my Internet auntie, for sure. I will check out Aaron & Claire!
I’ve tried making bibimbap before and it’s delicious, but I’ve never thought to make it in a sheet pan! This is so much easier, and I loved Eric’s kind energy!
"Trying not to cry" because the love is so real, pure, and human. Thank you for sharing it with us!
This has revolutionized getting rid of leftover veggies for me. I now can just throw them all on a sheet pan and make bi bim bap easy! Thanks!
Wait, that is such a good idea to use a sheet pan for large batches so everyone can get that stone bowl crunchy bottom without having to heat up multiple bowls!
This is our go-to menu for our daughter who decided to eat less meat more veg. She absolutely loves it, her fav being the crispy kale
I think I finally understand how Italians feel when they see one pot or oven pasta recipe lol As a native Korean, I would say this is a westernized version of bibimbap. Oven is not a part of Korean traditional cooking and I know for a fact that lots of Koreans use their oven for extra storage space for pots and pans. 😆 I'm sure this recipe tastes great tho, cuz roasted veggies???? you can't go wrong with that.❤As its name goes, bibimbap just means mixed rice so you can mix rice with toppings of your choice and call it your version of bibimbap. But I also remember Hello Fresh, the meal kit, sent me sriracha sauce in place of gochujang... and I was offended lol I know Eric is of Korean heritage and again, this must taste amazing, perhaps he took it to the next level, but I guess I'm just hoping people at least know the original version.
Huge fan of sheet pan recipes. Please keep them coming!
No reason to apologize! Some things are just fads. Some things are popular because they fulfill a need. (/desire)
Gosh! It's a literal rainbow of a dish. Like every macro nutrient is in here 😅 And yet so simple to make. Thank you so much!
Made this and it was soooo wonderful. I'd recommend making a bibimbap sauce (gochujang-based, very easy) rather than just using the gochujang paste on its own, because it elevates the bibimbap from quite good to amazing.
Oh I love this guy he’s entertaining and chill at the same time
I’ve always wanted to make bibimbap but the process of cooking each ingredient requires patience I don’t have. This is revolutionary.
This recipe looks delicious and Eric seems like the sweetest person ever.
Eric is so endearing and I love reading about his time with his mom. Family food time is invaluable to me, too. I can't wait to cook this!
He seems really sweet. Plus I love his jumper. And I'll 100% make this recipe, I think sheet pan food is so underrated!
So easy. Thanks for showing me my dinner for tonight. More Eric please.
Eric Kim just gave me lunch happiness thank you kindlt also can we have Sohla and Eric collab?
I made this tonight! It was delicious. I used onions, broccoli, zucchini, eggplant, shisito peppers and the kale. So easy!
I'm not Korean (I'm Malaysian) but I looooove Bimbimbap... but I've tried making it once and it was so labour intensive I swore never to do it again
Now, I wanna try this recipe so thank you!!!
Best new discovery on NYT cooking. NEED videos weekly! Lol sending love ❤️❤️❤️
This guy is fun to watch and very insightful!
Subscribing after watching this, loved Eric’s down to earth personality
Eric is brings new, easy recipes together, always gives great introduction and background info. So looking forward to seeing more of him!
Eric is so charming, I’m really glad I stumbled upon this video!
This meal is endlessly adaptable and completely delicious! I made it for lunch in a little more time than it would have taken me to make a sandwich!
Literally making this every week now! Super tasty “clean” satisfying and healthy!
i've never thought of putting rice in the oven to crisp! So clever! Definitely need to give this a try
Ooh I'll have to try it this way. Sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing.
This is fantastic. Thank you for this!
Your sheet pan version does seem really chill! And thanks for admitting the flexibility works. My friends used to call this 'funk cooking,' which was our way of saying "we have these six things in the fridge... will that do?"
The sweet story about him cooking with his Mom hooked me! Can’t wait to try this
Please more Eric content! His videos are always a joy to watch and his food is delicious.
he's so cute. more content with Eric Kim please!
"ugh another sheet pan recipe" - words i will literally never say because i LOVE the ease and efficiency. keep 'em coming!
totally looking forward to the cookbook!! (regardless of how many sheet pan recipes contained within haha)
He has such a radiant smile. I can't wait to give this recipe a try!
I had never thought of doing it this way, such a smart idea!
Yes it's four square- with the red rubber ball. Good recipe, ty!
Love the notion of using what you have! Love the story of cooking with your mom. Keep sharing❤️
This was delicious! As recommended I used what I had on hand, which was carrots, kale, and onions. For something pickled I added some of my homemade lacto-fermented sauerkraut.
omg, I love this person. can we have more of ERIC KIM
I love that sheet pan trick of removing the steam. I am def going to try that, I would totally see that making a huge diff in soggy sad veges vs crisp satly ones!
this is such an amazingly easy and yet refreshing take on bibimbap. will definitely be trying it out!
We have converted to making sheet pan bi bim bap from the traditional way. Such a time saver and very delicious.
Love this can't wait to try this recipe! Love Eric's style and energy - so calming and heartfelt!
I’d never groan about another sheet pan recipe. They’ve changed my life!
So cute love his vibe and smile and yes to the sheet pan like one stop chef
Yum. Just picked some ramps on Sunday. Will be making this tonight! Eric is delightful and talented.
Just the sweetest, cutest teacher! Your ma raised you good!! I cannot wait for your book! 💗
Dope recipe and awesome energy! Eric's awesome :).
you have such a nice vibe this VID soothed me so much! tysm for the recipe, it looks like a fun way to make bibimbab :)!
I was almost off balance by how nonchalant and chill that Eric Kim is in the video. His easy-going nature and "whole foods" vegetables had me doubting the dish the whole time. But when all that stuff came out of the oven and he assembled it. Great Scott! That's some damn good lookin' BiBimBap. How do you say, "Get in my belly!" in Korean? So well done.
Love the simplicity of this recipe. Funny how you open the oven door part way, I do the same thing w the dryer! It seems to dry faster lol!
Love this video, it's so chill. Also, DEFINITELY trying a Sheet-Pan Bibimbap
I was so inspired by this video. I can vouch for this recipe. It is super yummy! Can't wait to make it again this week!
Never thought this complex dish could be so easy to make. Sheet pans are the way to go! 😊
This is one of the best recipes, everyone in my friendgroup makes it now. Thank you so much for sharing!
Wow I love this! More Eric Kim please, he’s stupendous!
I was about to cry with him when he reminisced about his mom!! Please bring him back again!!! My ex also taught me how to cook 🤣❤️
Never heard of you Eric Kim BUT I love you for this! I love this dish and I recently got a air fryer and I will totally be trying this !
I made this tonight and it was amazing! Thanks for the great idea. So simple and yum.
Bibimbap is one of my most favorite comfort foods!
I made a video on my attempt on making bibimbap and was surprised by how much work it takes. haha.
This sheet-pan version is definitely something I should try!
I made this and it is so good!! Easily going to be a go to meal from now on.
Thanks ! I love bibimbap and never imagine that I can cook it this way.
Bibimbap has been a special occasion, restaurant food for us. I did make it once (traditional-ish) in a cooking class, but rarely have the right sort of leftovers to make it without spending hours on it. I will have to try this way when it's not 90F during the day.
WHATTTT this is the easiest recipe ever. And super healthy. I'll make this everyday 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I know what I'm making for dinner this weekend! More Eric Kim, please!!!
Eric! Amazing work as usual. Trying this ASAP.
dude is literally the sweetest human i've ever seen.
I eat a ridiculous amount of crispy rice and eggs. I am going to try this for lunch tomorrow!
Rhubarb Pickle! Great idea! But no recipe either here or at the NYT site. Did it not work well?
Yes, I’m curious about the rhubarb pickle, too. Hoping for a recipe
Nice! Looks delicious and not as complex as I thought. Will be trying.
Definitely planning to make that winter version soon!! Thank you :)
Simple but brilliant. Can’t wait to make this!
I'm totally making this for work lunches next week! Great recipe and video.
Was just having a conversation with my sister about how Asian recipes don't really use ovens but this is one way to rethink how to make Asian food. (Cause using an oven can be much easier T_T)
Beautiful dish, I am excited to try this❣
This was fun to watch and I totally want to try making bibimbap this way 🙂
This looks absolutely delicious. I’m trying to incorporate more vegetables in my diet, and cooked veggies have been my mainstay recently. Will definitely have to try this 😋
Thank you! Awesome, easy and delicious.
I'm very fond of Eric Kim and his food. I can't wait to hold the cookbook in my hands.
Eric is the cutest! Great new version of bibimbap, thanks!
I am trying this!!! This looks amazing, I've been wanting to make this for ages but stopped due to the effort. Thank you :)
I just made this and it was absolute perfection! Thank you for a fantastic recipe! 😋😋😋
Roasted goguma would be even better. This is so cool and IDK why I never thought of doing sheet pan bibimbap. The aspect of cooking separate dishes on the stove always made me skip bibimbap at home. WIll try. Thank you!
God damn, this ingenious!!! Just roasting all the veg in one go makes perfect sense. Thx Eric! 감사감사 🙏
As a korean i never thought of using a sheet pan to make bibim bap! Kinda genius, will def try.
Thank you, looks easy but delicious. I need that kind of recipe as I come home from work and I'm tired from the day. It's healthier and easier on our pockets to cook dinner. Love sheet pan dinners!
Oh my, what a lovelty host and wonderful energy :) love the recipe and sheet pan idea 👍
I’m making that today! Looks amazing. You’re so lovely, you need your own cooking show 😍
"We both became like 15 yr olds, just like, trying to one up each other." Love it, LOL! Keeping it real. :)
I know what I’m trying this weekend - thanks!!
