    A big 'thank you' for the video. It's been a huge assistance. The problem is that I cannot find a Monroe strut for my 2018 Toyota Camry LE (non-hybrid). Monroe does not seem to have manufactured any struts for my car. FCS seems to be the only available option, and it appears to be a dirt cheap one (I don't want to waste my money and time). Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Unfortunately, so many aftermarket struts ride firmer than Toyota OEMs. I'm in the camp of wanting less road feel as if feeling every bump with firmer damping is a good thing LOL. I'll be driving straight on bumpy road 99.9% of the time and driving in canyons with smooth surface 0.01% of the time. Marketing has made "sporty" ride seem positive but it's actually harder to design a good suspension that makes your back not ache and feel comfortable after a 3 hour drive on bumpy roads. I got a Camry after all, otherwise I would have got a Civic Sport with a dropped suspension.

      Gotta keep the original coil springs, and just change the struts.

    If your tires are wearing more on the inside or outside this would be a good time to replace the upper bolt with a camber adjust bolt so it can be aligned. The original bolt does not have the lobe for setting the camber.

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  Рік тому

      That could be it but most car are made for good straight wheel unless ur ball joints or busing catch play then ur tires will go off alignment

    Hey bro so I got my car back today and mechanic was telling me how he wasn’t able to find the connector to the coolant temperature sensor no matter what he tried and he says that the car isn’t sending no signal to the fan TO turn on whenever he disconnects the engine temperature sensor the fan turns on for precaution so he’s telling me I may have to go to an electrician to check out why my fan won’t cut on but the fan works could it be a cpu?

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 роки тому

      Well this is complicated dignostic these newer cars fans are controlled by ecu so they don’t come on just like that it could be fan relays fuses or the fan bad it self u need to check everything out on scan tool to see what siginal u get from the sensors first

    • @pradakevo
      @pradakevo 2 роки тому +1

      @@RBTheMechanic it could literally just be the connector I’m missing I have a 2008 Bmw 328i sedan e90 n52 n there’s this coolant temperature sensor that sensor has a connector which is a wire that runs from up top my car is missin that and supposedly that connector is what receives the signal however the mechanic says it might be the ecu but I kinda doubt it what else would fail if it was the ecu not just the fan right ? I’ll check the relay fuses and the fan is working well it has current on the negatives and positive terminals pretty sure

    Hey Ralph Bob The Mechanic!, after changing the whole entire strut (the shock, spring, mount), do you do an alignment?, or is it best to re-align it??

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 роки тому +1

      Usully I don’t remember the alignment will go off since we didn’t move any parts for adjustment and the most shops don’t do caster and cabmber so I don’t see the need unless u know a shop that can do that

      Same thing happened to me. Hit a pot hole and completely busted the driver sit strut mount. Got them all replaced and replacing the sway bar links and ball joints when the parts get in. Watching this video to make sure I didn't ruin my cv on the passenger side. It slipped in and out after I got the strut off.
