This is how I imagined every model I built as a kid would look. Instead it looked like...well....I'm sure most of you know.
Lol yes
I’m a kid, but yes
Siii...seguro que si, jjajajaja
As a former sailor that worked on this aircraft, I see you went with the maintenance scheme here. You would see this in the ship's hanger bay.
That is an awesome job! I worked on Tomcats in VF-31 from '89-'91. This model is amazing. From a technical standpoint, one of the exhaust nozzles should be feathered, but who cares when it is put together this well! Bravo zulu, my friend!
I've been meaning to ask someone, but why is this the case? One open and the other closed?
Another tomcatter! I spent time at NAS Oceana at vf-31 in 2012-2013!
Excellent attention to detail, I wish when I was a young 12 years old that I had the skill, knowledge & patience for this type of work, it’s an altogether different level. Thanks for sharing & some awesome tips to be had.
Magnificent to get such detail and authenticity on a small scale model. Brilliant.
How the hell does this have 317 dislikes get real, dont be jealous. Dude this looks amazing. I used to build these so i know the time and patience. But your detail is first class excellent. Beautiful job!!!
Thank you, I think dislikes come from people who think that aircraft dont get dirty...
never thought about doing exhausts like that!! clever and looks stunning!!
What a remarkable build! I have a Tamiya F-14A 1/72 kit to build, and your video was a great inspiration.
I had to slow it down to .5 speed (half speed) and it was most enjoyable! You've got a new subscriber.
Thank you very much. I have to speed it up always as it would be too boring for most of viewers
Really fantastic! And thank you for having it in a "maintenance mode" that is always an interesting thing to see in a model.
Thanks. I will definitely build another, bigger F-14 this year
I always tend to think the painting tutorials go too fast, but you have done a very excellent job in explaining how you painted your pilot figure. And he looks the part! Well done!
I was on the Indy with VAQ-136 in 95, and have friends in VS 21. Awesome model!!! I might even have a pic of one of their 14s .
Outstanding job! I've not seen an F-14 model that allows to insert the wings in that manner, very nice.
The wash on the exterior of the Tomcat turned out very well.
Love the paint job on this one!!! Makes me want to build my Tamiya Tomcat but will watch a few more of your videos before I start :)
Brilliant. I just used to glue mine together when i was a kid.
I had the Airfix 1/72 scale in 90s growing up. One of and still one of my favorite Modern fighter bombers. I painted my under body white, and top grey so many versions i could have picked from prints to stick on. I was so proud of it spent weeks on and off fine tuning and painting things and before gluing . I did a 1/72 Mig 28 and painted it black, silver under like Top gun.
well this is an a hell
beaten old man of war F-14A Tomcat lol! Great job!
Love the tint on the canopy. Amazing amount of detail for 1/72 scale. My eyes could never handle working that small! Great job....I miss seeing Tomcats soaring over the Outer Banks on vacation time.
Tahoe2002Md I think he’s using an Optivisor or something similar, you can see it in shot a few times.
Wow. Such an Awesome build and paint job. I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your videos...
Great craftsmanship! I am not a fan of the heavy weathering (personal taste) but I do appreciate the excellent work/attention to detail!!!
Stunning work Dawid on what looks to be the definitive 1/72 Tomcat.
I don't know if you have ever visited an operational Tomcat squadron while on deployment, but I must say that your interpretation comes the closer to the real thing than most any other modeling video that I have watched. (And that comes from personal experience.)
Grande trabalho. Amei!!! Um dia, chego neste nível!
Parabéns...Showww!!!
A lot of detail.... very nice work especially on the Cockpit! Impressive
That's insane painter work!!! Absolutely brilliant! Nice Job!
Thank you
I’ve built a lot of tomcats and love your version! Great job on this work of art.
thank you, i hope to build many, many more
Beautiful model. Wonderful video. I like it when artists take a chance with their models. This model tells a story. Maybe it flew a few combat sorties and it is dirty. Maybe its been in a dust storm. Who knows. Its a wonderful interpretation. Great job.
Thank you very much!
100%
Awesome job great detail and weathering. ...again awesome
It looks amazing! The debate can go on for a lifetime, but this plane shows character, and has a lot of histories to tell.
Absolutely stunning job 😳😳😳 without a doubt, the most realistic scale model I've saw on UA-cam. Truly amazing job.
Thank you!
Its model making end of day... its your personal choice what you do to your models.. if your happy with it then its perfect as you are your own biggest critic to say when to stop.. well done on a model completed of a end of tour tomcat
Wonderful job! Reminds me of something you’d see in the Boneyard. Sad to see such a beautiful aircraft get decommissioned only a few years ago.
Pilot requested that his Crew Chief walk the Plank!
Great Build, Beauty SH182.
The FineMolds kit is the best F-14 in 1/72 scale and you did an outstanding job on it. The weathering make it look very realistic.
Mr. Brawnski, I’m sure this video is old but still much appreciated after all this time. Beautifully done! Thank you
Admired your determination and patience in this model work.
Thanks for making these videos, keeps me inspired to try new weathering techniques.
glad it helps!
That incredible! But also one of the most tedious things I've ever seen. Well done!
dude, outstanding. this is huge for me as really struggle with aircraft
Wonderful and beautiful work not only mastered by his love
This is a very good representation of an aircraft coming back off of deployment, they generally look weathered and beat up. My only quibble is with the right side marker lights, they are a green, not blue.
Wow. Great job !!! My favorite fighter jet too!! Keep up the great work!
Your video was very instructive. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise.
Wow. I can't explain why, but the 1/72 scale has something special. Wonderful technique!
Fantastic model and epic skills, what a pro!
Fantastic model! looks amazing
Very detailed for 1/72 I have not seen a tomcat in this scale this elaborate
Great job of a classic plane..
A suggestion. @21:37, instead of brushing the swing effect, take a round piece of wood/metal/plastic that fits in the pivot of the wing, then, using a piece of cardboard that's glued to it and dipped in accent paint, rotate across the wing. Same for any rotating wear and tear effect. Even better than this, paint a layer of primer (to be read as in how they paint actual primer on these planes not primer in the model industry, the tan beige colored one) and then paint on top of that, the thin color of choice. Repeatedly passing that cardboard (tho in this case a credit card or a plastic piece would be better) over the paint will actually scratch it revealing the primer underneath.
Adding some "dirt" to that will accent the piece and give it even more depth. All the models i've seen done with this technique(s) look incredibly realistic because the scale of the action matches the scale of the model. Just my two cents.
What a complex kit. Very nice
That's a very solid build to start the year. You're videos keep topping each other, great work!
thank you mate
Beautiful, I really want to see this up close! I wish there were more close-up shots from more angles! :)
Absolutely stunning! Great job mate!
mind blowing! well done mate!
Wow super coloring. That plane is so havy wethering.
Amazing work. I built model planes myself but not with this beautiful technic...Keep it up.
My second aircraft model was an Airfix F-14 in 1:72 back in 2009.... Though mine was nothing like this one... I mean I didn't even paint it and because I used a yellow glue it's a mix of sanded Grey and yellow around the edges where I stuck the pieces together. But it was good for being my second ever model. Nowadays I'm more into helicopters (I've made Hueys, Apaches, Kiowas and Chinooks) but I like alternative models as well, like an AFV 1:35 MIM-23 kit that I made, which turned out to be one of the hardest models I've ever put together because a) it was very detailed b) it was a present to my father, who served at HAWK sites as an officer for more than 15 years and I wanted it to be perfect.
Great model. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic work, really cool techniques, congrats. Great video and editing too, very few people have an idea on how much time and effort you have to put on to make a really nice video.
thank you, this is really important to me, but some dont understand how long it can tak just for editing.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL what an awesome build
Thanks!!
Your very welcome, much respect to you and your modeling skills my friend always a pleasure to watch your videos
More jets in 48 scale this year ;)
I got several of these kits in 1/32 I bought in 1990. Made by TAMIYA. Very high detail metal parts in them... I never got around to building them....
Got a 1/24 monogram when i was a kid... sadly my toy box disappeared, along with it the f-14.
Great build!
Incredible work. Thanks so much. Congratulations. Amazing work.😃✌️
Kudos to Ur hardworking....really paid off....looks marvelous
Thank you !

Another super build indeed.
Beautiful aircraft

Cary
Thank you!
Beautiful looking Tomcat buddy! 😍
Thanks Warren!
Very awesome. I have some civilian colleagues who have worked on the engines on this platform.
Speechless.. Amazing job.
I really enjoy watching all your videos are very helpful fantastic modeler keep Sharing your builds
Thanks !!
Nicely done.
So as for the people saying it's too heavily weathered
Consider the fact he may be trying to refine weathering techniques
I did say in a reply to another post here but really well done! 👍👍
That’s incredible work.
Thank you!
Very nice and tight on details. It is a fine job and exquisite and artistic outcome with a ready to dogfight appearance. Thanks.
Thank you!
@robert Sure, it looks cool but it's rather "wrench crew" plus "wash me - pretty please" appearance...
Awesome work! So much talent!
I know I'm 4 years late but this is an amazing video, it's handy when you talk about what you use. Thanks
Awesome as always
Una obra de arte, te has ganado un nuevo subscriptor, saludos desde España
Model is amazingly well done. But your camera work is also great
This is pretty much the way they looked after a long deployment ,awesome job. Vf51 Screaming Eagles 92-95
Did you fly F-14s?
Ground crew.
@@eds.8900 that's great man, must have been great experience
Best mode and great work
Great work Dawid :)
Great job ! ☺️
Truly amazing.
I wish I can do all that, nice work
Great video! I'm almost done with my Fine Molds 1/72 Tomcat, I just wish I had found your video sooner, but I'm still going to try to use some of your methods to wrap it up.
how about you watch some of my newer F-14 videos? I made 4 more F-14''s since :)
@@ScaleHangar182 Well, consider me a new subscriber!
As a former VF-21 Freelancer, love seeing this! My only suggestion would be to put dirty glove or finger prints around heavily used access panels. I can't say I've ever seen a Tomcat as open as this unless it was in Intermediate Maintenance, but that's up for artistic interpretation. Great job overall, and heck with other Tomcatters who disagree. Time has a way of bending history, and at the end of the day, pictures from the past is a great example. If they can do better, go ahead!
Stunning!
Nice build, thanks for sharing!...Bill
This is an art, I watched then I sub
UNBELIEVABLE WORK !!!! ... I cant even guess how many thousands of hours it took you to perfect your technique. Amazing job !!
hahah, actually that painting technique i was doing it only second time, and first time on aircraft. Thanks!
Przyda mi się Twój poradnk kiedy będę pracował nad swoim Tomcatem z Fine Moldsa :)
So impressed with the methods you use. Especially the exhaust effects on the afterburners. Is it mostly trial & error along with tips from other builders? Or the other way around? Cheers.
Excellent Tomcat
Magnificent work. Congratulations my friend.
Thank you. I think my latest F-14 build videos are a bit better !
Beautiful old kit
Cool model, I've seen the weathering issue in the comments section so won't even say anything about it, but my only 2 visual points I think it would have been nice to see is, 1, the nav lights are white, red and green, if you're looking at the plane from the back, at the aft most of the tail is white, left or captain side is red and green on the right, you did red and blue. 2, the green on the front canopy glass is way to green, there's a couple reasons why it has that tint green/blueish color to it, early f14 had a hud combiner glass in which the HUD projector casted on the front canopy glass giving it the tint, also the front piece glas is laminated thick glass that's why it has struts, unlike an f15 for example, the f14 can reach 1.8 mach pass 30 seconds without melting the glass unlike the 15.
After the hud upgrade that panel lost some of that green tint, on later cats is still visible but on some angles, I've seen people paint them green/blue there's no right or wrong it all depends on what angle you look at it but one thing is for sure it's very Very transparent almost unnoticeable.
Great work👍🏻
FUUUUUUUUCK!!! Now I want to go buy a kit, but I posses maybe 7.65% of the skill you shown here! AMAZING WORK!
WOW! Excellent Work! ♥
thank you!
