Nice build. I'm currently building this same kit, although reboxed by Doyusha. For some reason, they popped runners in different colors of plastic: gray, white, and black. I haven't attached the wings yet. I put those pivot cards into place, and I figured I'd slide the wings onto them after I've painted them.
Seems like Academy is the way to go nowadays with most of the 1/72 lineup. I have had the most mixed experiences with Hasegawa and Tamiya in recent years, so I’m excited to get my hands on some Academy kits like this one!
You should give Great Wall Hobby a try. Their kits are insane when it comes to fit and details. They have issiues with instructions, but it's a new company and a small one that keeps impressing!
I really don't know why should anybody want to change a real molded or resin cockpit with raised details to a one dimensional flat PE crap. Especially with color mismatches like all Eduard colored PEs. (The other thing I don't understand the bumped up gamma and contrast on the still images. Made the whole thing disgusting. Meanwhile in the video it looks very good. LowVis tomcats tipically filthy as hell, but not in the way like in the still images. The overtuned contrast kills it.) BTW the kit is a clear leap in quality compared to their previous Tomcat iteration.
