I always enjoy watching a top level attacker VS top level defender. I am an Attacker and I truly enjoy playing against defenders. it can be frustrating at times but you learn a lot from playing a defender.
Due to the fact that in the top 100 there are less than 5 defenders, it really excites me when i see chopper playing on pro tour! :D
Actually, you can barely produce any spin with long pimples (that's why Filus mostly serves with the black, reverse pimple rubber). The pimples just give back incoming spin and heavy top-spin becomes back-spin, when returned. Table-Tennis-Dan should really know about this pretty basic fact...

Your right for the most part . But feint long 2 for example you can push underspin to underspin because the pimples are more stiff with loe reversal . But yes filus is using feint long 3 wixh are much softer

@11.36 Ruwen didn't twiddle, he kept the inverted black rubber on the backhand, then he twiddled to attack with the forehand.

that 6 - 7 in the 6 set that the ball bounced in the net and Ruwen had all the table to just smash the ball and missed cost him the match

The best defend is attacking, not just chopping and chopping. sometime is good, sometime is disaster.

@31.19 Filus didn't twiddle here either. The black side is inverted, red side pimples. I don't know what the commentator is seeing, but it certainly isn't Ruwen's bat.

I was looking all over the internet to watch them, but it was only low quality/ their shitty buffering website that had the recordings.

@37.40 These guys don't know what they are talking about. Not one lob from Ruwen came off the pips - it is virtually impossible to lob off a pimple out rubber, especially long pips.
It just proves that these commentators know nothing about defensive techniques.
Or perhaps they are just blind?
Find someone who can commentate accurately please.

Defenders especially need to be able to control themselves. The third set showed it very clearly!
