Difference betwen Cycles and Path tracing render engines
Cycles looks better but man i can't wait a whole week to render a few seconds
Noise threshold just put it to some higher value like .1 then turn on denoiser. This could even be faster than any path tracing engine out there
cycles isnt actually that slow once you know how to tweak the engine settings and i assume its the same for ue path tracing
Cycles is way faster than most path tracers and lumen does take much longer than realtime if you have anti aliasing turned on.
Well, just read the comment below 👇...
@radsgd The difference is Cycles was designed as a to be best by hard rendering frames, Unreal Engine was designed to run in real-time. This new path-tracing feature sounds very experimental and is probably using a lot of noise filtering, but I still think the biggest benefit is a significantly less rendering time. The disadvantage - you have to import all of your assets into UE, set up materials, particle systems, lighting, and Post-processing, and you don't have to freedom of procedural modifiers galore that can be told to render from the workspace. Blender has some amazing plugins that can be set up and rendered as-is.
I think cycle has more accurate light bouncing than unreal
That's true
i think what's causing the most difference is at least to me it feels like theres some post processing going on in UE, like the extra atmosphere and slight haze, flares and light streaks
The light sun in ue5 is better but the quality in blender better than ue5
Cycles looks better, but a) it STRONGLY depends on the settings used in both cases b) generally in UE I prefer using lumen w/ hardware rtx support, its faster and the results are awesome.
Btw path tracing takes a lot to render in both engines
Man there are so many tweaks that needed to be done in path Tracing which can make it look better no?
it is made for games , and it looks fantastic for the purpose , it is obviously no match form actual 3d animation softwares in rendering
i disagree, mandalorian fx was made in ue, specifically backgrounds. lumen is basically real life@@rexiah1506
@@rexiah1506 Path Tracing is not made for games... It isn't a real time renderer. @peluche070 is correct. There are plenty of options he could have tweaked to make it look a ton better.
*Blender is an absolutely winner! 🏆*
No
Now we need Gaussian Splattering 😊
is there anyway to import that to unreal? i guess baking?
both are good, i feel 1 shot in different "Cameras" 😅
Which is faster in rendering??
Overall I prefer cycles. On the trucks, blender has nicer glass but ue5 has more reflection on chrome. On the racing car UE is way too dark and blender produces more lustre on the chrome wheels. On the Cars UE5 seems to render something weird on the background Porsche fog lights.
better graphics vs better light
So basically Blender beats Unreal cuz Blender has both? Is what you are saying. Just from this video alone.
That makes no sense.
What where the render times per frame?
Song?
How many samples for cycles? 24?
Blender engine is obviusly better on quality, but UE is realtime
The path tracing rendering is usually not real time
True
@@armaanc.684 Unless you have a 4090 and optimized scene then it can be. And I don't think the comparison here is between render times.
@@xanzuls but is the unreal path tracer faster?
This is not real time, its path tracing
I think cycles has more light bounces and they are more accurate
Unreal without path tracing looks pretty decent and has way faster render times.
Nice
I just love cycles.
And render times 🤔
I guess this means blender has a worthy come competitor
blender is better
but the lighting and the shadows of that very pricey path tracing takes the lead
blender cycles is great but takes hell of time, but I work on blender cycles you can see on my youtube channel
Do a UE5 (Lumen) VS Blender (Cycles)
Cycles is more accurate and realistic
@@Grass_rock-kb7gi Nope, Lumen turned out better in my projects
@@elizaafreen8300 that's hard to believe
Blender (Cycles) +1
Blender(cycles) carries everything equal
There's a reason why editors recommend Blender
5mins vs 3days
😂😂😂
UE's Path Tracing is not real time, you are confusing it with RAY Tracing.
"PATH" Tracing and "RAY" Tracing are not the same thing.
thank you@@user-nr5xp6yd8z
Unreal is more realistic but cycles just looks better
Why is this even being compared? They’re designed for completely different things
Biggest benefit is that we have Nanite in unreal
And lumen
Вывод: эпики сдают позиции
Че? Lumen почти реалтайм рендерер, сайклас может по 40 минут один фрейм рендерить.
Now do Unreal 5.2
UE5 looks more photorealistic
But blender cycles use path tracing...
blender is interestingly more realistic
Blender wins
unreal literally takes 5 minutes render one shot meanwhile blender 😬
Blender more realistic
Don't forget one is real time where one takes ages to render 1 frame.
Idiot
😂😂
Not lumen, path tracing.
UE is great for games and landscapes. That's all. If you do animation, product visualisation, architecture UE is waste of time.
I don't agree with that, realtime architecture visualization is becoming popular nowadays, because I'm working on such a project myself in one company. It's true that product animations are probably easier in other software, but architecture is definitely in demand in UE. Well, in general I see that Unreal engine is more and more desirable skill nowadays so I would say it's definitely not a waste of time on the contrary it's quite profitable.
@@VejtasaArtbut he compares to ue path tracer
Path tracer in ue takes almost same time as cycles, but cycles more physically accurate
I think ue is useful only when u use lumen
Unreal always wins.
Blender 15hr when UE takes 10min
Just so you know, path tracing in UE is also as slow as Cycles. I mean, what do you expect in terms of speed from path tracing?
he's clearly comparing the looks
@@Denomote I think I just made some misunderstanding for people, My comment meant to reply others who said Cycles is just too slow
@@gn2727 that's a different thing
a feature that was built into a real-time rendering engine... I wish you hadn't told me that... I will keep using Unity HDRP and render phenomenal stuff is a fraction of the time. Unity is cheaper than UE (for now), and fall back on Cycles for the seriously high-caliber stuff...
@@Eradifyeraounreal also has real time ray tracing.
I mean unity was good but now it’s shit so just switch to godot or something
Very close, both look similar in accuracy. Whats the render time comparison?
CYCLES 18.000X SLOWER =)))
@@Urban6crets did you realize they used UE Path tracing as well? The render times might be pretty similar
@@gabrielgonach6330 between 2.000 hours?
Blender looks so much better
Can you compare both with Omniverse path tracing also ?
Cycles is definitely better but at what cost?😢
Númber 100

both? both. both are good
Cycles is better but Unreal is realtime.
path tracing is not realtime
Blender definitely looks better, but why would you use unreal if you sre not going to use the real time capabilities?
I prefer to use the unreal engine because I find it has a simpler workflow when creating scenes (Blender is easier when creating anything more complex) and I use Lumen for previewing but Pathtrace just looks better when rendering.
Simpler workflow? In blender you open the software and boom you start to create. In unreal you fist create an empty project that weight 30go or more and you setup a lot of thing and you create your assets in a DCC software and you import and…. Yes simpler indeed ;)
It's literally easier to create scenes because you just open a project and start compositing assets, it's easier to work with light and you can see the whole scene in realtime from the start. It's also better optimized, because when I use complex assets in Blender, it's slow and impossible to work with and takes much longer to render than in UE.
Anyway for each asset you need several software from zbrush or speedtree, blender etc then you need to make textures in Q Mixer or Substance and then you don't care if you put it in blender or UE anyway. As for the UE file it's also better because the whole project is saved in one folder where the whole project is which makes it easier to manipulate and send the file.
If you have learned the whole process it's much easier. I think it's not the software but you. ;)
@@aurelienmartineau3D
look closely at the scene with the pink cars. shadow border)
UE is just graphic in game, not that realistic
Cycle is the better
I bet that come Unreal Engine 6, we'll start to see a strong push towards Unreal Engine being a one stop shop. It's getting better with every update.
cycles is fast rendering?
No, Eevee is fat rendering for blender. Lumen for unreal engine
depends on your graphics card
