The new E/F versions are considered as totally new jets. They look similar to the C/D versions but have a new engine, larger fuselage, longer operating range, higher load, supercruise, new sensor suite, computer platform to integrate any weapon system, and more. Typically, the sensor suite is a magnitude better than the C/D versions, and in operation, it can detect things such as the friction heat of incoming missiles. What you can detect, you may counteract, including so-called stealth objects. Moreover, by combining it with Global Eye, nothing goes undetected.
Gripen E is currently the newest fighter aircraft on the market with all the latest tech available. The latest delivery include changes made on the E model in 2023/24, such as larger wings with new shape, canard wing slightly moved and changes to the steering system accordingly to the above.
The new lager wing by enlargement of flaps not confirmed by SAAB. Seems currently only in experimental status. Let's take a look at the latest production Gripen E airframe which is for Brazil AF whether it got the new big flaps or not.
Nov 6, 2023. (Nota Bene: the last sentence) Saab’s Gripen E multi-role fighter continues to achieve numerous milestones, including delivering the first series production aircraft to the Swedish Armed Forces. Interestingly, one of the jets started using a modified wing shape. One of the fighter jets uses add-ons on the rear side of the wings. This causes the wings to have a larger overall size. Until now, the official party has not announced the wing revision. However, in the latest photos released by the Saab E, the 6002 series fighter jet clearly has extra surface area on its wings. The result is a wing that appears more trapezoidal. The final model leans more towards a delta wing than the previous model. Some even compared the new look to the Cold War era Rego fighter jet. This fighter aircraft, which is also made by Saab, has a large twin-delta canard configuration. Johan Segertoft, head of the Saab Gripen business unit, explained the reasons for the change. According to him, opportunities to increase the Gripen’s heavy payload capabilities were identified in the early stages of the development process. important for future operations. “We decided to implement this fix as quickly as possible. Includes software updates and some modifications affecting the canard and elevon surfaces.” Although Segertoft mentioned changes to the front canard, this is not immediately visible from the photos released so far. The basis of the Gripen design philosophy, continued Segertoft, is its ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing needs. They are constantly improving their aircraft in both tangible and intangible ways. With the integration of new technologies and new requirements. Fighter aircraft must be developed quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively to meet user needs. While the wing modification may have only just been confirmed, the idea has actually been around for a long time. According to Segertoft, the feasibility of such upgrades was determined in the early stages of Gripen E development. The first aircraft with the improved wing configuration took to the air in the second half of 2021. To date, there are 16 Gripen E fighter jets flying in Sweden and Brazil. According to Segertoft, new design features have been added to some of the aircraft. and has successfully completed flight tests. Segertoft also confirmed that this modification will become the standard configuration for all future mass production aircraft from customers such as Sweden and Brazil.

To select fighter aircraft for a Nation ,all its depends on the country's need , geography, borders, size of air force or army, budget usage ,short range or long range neighbouring nations etc.Not all fighter planes are suitable for all countries.
Imagine a strike package of a pair of high F35s together with one or two pairs of low and fast Gripen E ready to pop up and jam and/or outflank any squadron of Sukhois the F35 sees on its bigger radar😎
The cost per flight hour are stated to be $4000/hour but when you compare it to F16 and FA18 it shows a figure of $10.000/hour? YOU NEED TO UPDATE THAT FIGURE.
Gripen E is more or less a clean sheet design compared to the C/D versions. SAAB claims that it was a bigger step to develop the E version than to go from Viggen. It should have been renamed to something else but due to political reasons it was not possible.
Wtf Wdym sadly? The F-35A costs about the same as the Gripen E/F, or even less in certain metrics, when making a proper apples to apples comparison, while at the same time being a much more capable jet. So, in other words, the F-35 is much more cost effective fighter than the Gripen. There's no comparison.
@@deltasierracharlie Talking is easy, I want to see it proven. Not to mention the enormous damage that the F-35 has already caused with countless accidents and endless reviews of failures and conflicts in its very expensive systems.

You're right. The fighters truly ahead of the competition would be Soviet era MiG's and Sukhoi's as well as Chinese fighters - the numbers are mind-boggling...

I don't think selling a jet fighter has anything to do with NATO. Most clients of the Dassault Rafale are not members, such as India, Egypt, Qatar, UAE, Indonesia, Serbia.

The world’s most expensive sportsplane! Pilots love it when they flying it clean😮

Nice plane.
Twin engine gripen would be hectic 🔥🔥🔥
Turkish airforce should buy 40 gripen - e's
I wouldn't want Sweden to sell to Turkey.
Why twin engine?
I’m skeptical...
... in both cases.
