He has NO IDEA how to join this jam. Alex just spent 7 minutes straight flawlessly and consistently playing the most heavy thing he’s heard in years. In B diminished as well. Not happy hunting grounds for most people.
As much as I don't think Alex is in the same league as Victor and Steve, I'm surprised I haven't seen more videos of him doing clinics. He's a fantastic bass player, one of the best in metal for sure, though I wish he wouldn't use such a scooped tone with such low action because he becomes inaudible once everything else gets going. But that's just a matter of tone.... his chops are incredible. I'd actually really like to hear him do something more funky/jazzy, maybe as a side-project.

One of the things that separates Cannibal Corpse, and also Suffocation, from other death metal bands is having a bass player who knows how to bring the funk when necessary without letting it dominate.
Webster is the non stoping rythming machine!
Thanks for posting this video, amazing! All pro bassist like them deserve respect. They were just having fun!! :)
Had to send this to my old roommate/shipmate. He likes both.
First time I have seen Alex Webster being stressed and sweating... imagine they tell you: "So, yeah dude, just do a base, nothing fancy, whatever you feel. Oh, by the way, Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey will play something upon your base."... Jesus. I almost felt the whole weight upon Alex. Maybe one of the best/most amazing and suffered moments of his carreer.
The bass line (from Alex) reminds me of Criteria for a Black Widow (Annihilator)
Victor and Alex. Much fun. X
What an awesome bass jam
Oh Steve.... What are you doing...?
I agree.Hated what he “contributed “.Out of tune and didn’t especially love what he did even if it was.
what a tone on that slappy bass! great !
Alex Webster deserves his spot at the top with all the great bass players of all time.
That is really fucking sick, awesome to see this bassists from different genres jamming together.
now this is an epic moment!! i wish those kind of things happen more often at my music school hahaha. i guess it's a big privilege to be studying in berklee :)
*This is a dream come true!*
Well be a.....I never thought I would see......well i'll be damned :-)
one of the best uploads on youtube.......of anything.......ever........please tell me theres more footage?
woah this is so awesome
This is pretty awesome.
Alex Webster is a machine \m/
WHOA what a lineup!!!!
After watching Steve Bailey lay down those cool licks, it makes me wish I kept my Dean 6-string fretless bass. That bass had the coolest sound ever!
This was an epic jam.
All steve could add was some errie korn sounding notes now n then. Alex was very busy but yet simple for corpse music. Victor was great improvising with the busy webster line.
Alex Webster and Victor Wooten,, mind explosion!!
'never played with a freight train'
A nice feather for Alex's cap.
Pretty cool
fuck yeah!! this is one hell of a jam session
Why does Steve look like he's afraid of his own instrument?
It's doing weird things lol
Probably cuz he needs more strings than the other two LOL
He has NO IDEA how to join this jam. Alex just spent 7 minutes straight flawlessly and consistently playing the most heavy thing he’s heard in years. In B diminished as well. Not happy hunting grounds for most people.
@@Xplora213 don't worry about Steve, he knows his diminished scales.
Seems I'm the only one who can appreciate what Steve's doing
Yup.To me,most of what he was doing, even if he was doing some advanced microtonal shit, sounded like garbage. He is a great player but this was 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
What Bailey was doing.Loved Webster and Wooten
Yeah, I think so.
For his tone and role in the jam, Victor may as well be playing a guitar!
This is Super-Storm!
GREAT POST! Thank you 8^)
As much as I don't think Alex is in the same league as Victor and Steve, I'm surprised I haven't seen more videos of him doing clinics.
Check out the band Blotted Science. Alex Webster does bass in that band, his tone is the same, but it meshes really well with everything else.
Victor Wooten and Alex webster !!!!! Holy fuckin shit !
É loco!! Um salve para quem propiciou estes malucos se trombarem para este rolê! Poderia até não sair nada, que mesmo assim mitou.
I flipped so much shit when I saw Alex Webster and Victor Wooten together.
You know it brother
