- The High Cultist is one of the more powerful classes in Conquest of Elysium, but is he strong enough to take on a Large map on Knight difficulty? I think so, and it only took me four previous failed attempts to learn that!
Conquest of Elysium 5 is a versatile 4X/roguelike strategy hybrid game that boasts a remarkable amount of content and a depth of gameplay that isn't immediately apparent on first glace.

Loving the CoE. When you said, “Is it actually possible to flood Agartha?”, it made me laugh. One of the best parts of this game is that the answer to the question of is it possible is almost always yes no matter how crazy it is.
Great point! And the answer to that question is "Yes you can". I even saw a comment suggesting you can flood Inferno too, which if true is hilarious!
@@battlemode
It's not really "flood" Inferno. But you can drown the demons.
Basically if you dig down in Agartha you end up in Inferno. The demons will immediately start invading Elysium just like they do when a portal opens. But if you make a flooded tunnel a few tiles long and then dig into Inferno, all the demons will drown while trying to reach Elysium. Thus you can "drown" Inferno.
3:09 From my personal experience Enslave, Charm and similar spells will quickly run into a diminishing return with your army size. The more other ranged or fast attackers you have and the further back your casters are, the less new troops you get. It's pretty good for clearing out small forces while keeping your numbers up, but it does fall off quickly once you got an actual army. It also doesn't do that much in big battles. If you have 50 ranged units shooting at each other, having 2 switch sides per turn isn't that impactful.
8:16 Yes, they can. Ethereal units can ignore non-magical walls. I suggest to get out of the way of that army.
10:13 Archers will only hit 1 out of 4 times. You really want some magical weapons to deal with those fire elementals. Or fire immune troops. Hilariously basic Red Kobolds with sticks will wreck Fire Elementals as they are fire immune.
13:34 Not all of the Pale Ones units. And definitely not the Fire Elementals.
17:06 There is also that Astral Maw attack, which will kill anything that comes to close.
19:25 I just remembered. He has an Olm in his army, right? That means it's slow. You should be fine just moving past it. Just leave your immobile units to defend and get back your mines.
22:32 It lets you dig down and claim all of Agartha. You can also use it to either drown or unleash hell.
27:14 Pretty sure the Horrors didn't do much. The monkeys did move out.
29:07 Horrors aren't affected by reliable summoning. They aren't of your faction and will always attack you if you summon them onto your own troops.
31:06 Pretty sure the Troll Pit is still full of mushrooms. They have stealth.
32:18 It got on of your Cultists.
33:56 Star Spawn have autoastrology. So yes, you know the stars at all times as long as you have one.
34:37 Portable Pit is kind of useless if you already have a Shovel.
41:00 They didn't disappear. They are just stealthy/invisible.
44:30 Looks like you got a visitor form the hole you made. :D
Sending Lesser Horrors seems to just waste Sacrifices without accomplishing anything. It would be better to spend them on summons or masteries.
I agree.
It is however a very good raiding tool or can be used to distract enemy armies. But yeah, sending Lesser Horrors against fortified places isn't going to accomplish much.
Sending a Greater Horror on the other hand....
Though in that case you might have to do some dangerous cleanup.
I was just trying it out, I don't remember seeing that ritual in CoE4
@@battlemode
Pretty sure it was in CoE4 already.
But yeah, I got "just messing around for fun/science"-vibes from your horror summoning. :D
@@battlemode I think the purpose of sending horrors may be to attack all their undefended towns and villages and mines and foce them to clean up and garrison better.
I wish the AI was smarter. Seems like half the factions die to wildlife or the Troll king 😂 still a great game
On the higher difficulties it's pretty effective at killing the player when it wants to!
@@battlemode I mean to say the higher difficulty just start out with more resources that's it.
To be fair, I don't think the amount of human players that die to wildlife is that low either. XD
@@merrydiscusser6793 some of the wildlife can be suprisingly strong especially the aquatic wildlife.
