A Krieger finds himself in a quite fortunate, or unfortunate situation depending on your disposition, he's stuck on a paradise agri-world and it's a living hell. At least at first, who knows, maybe this is a chance for a fresh start, with a new face and new friends.
The Voice of the Agri-World girl is done by the ever-talented CrystalAvenger, she's been such a pleasure to work with and I hope you all enjoy hearing her as much as I did while editing for a solid 5 hours.

Reminds of the Cain novels where in the vail notes it says for the planetary defenses forces their might be one commissar for a whole system so almost no one below generals will ever meet them.
What I love about this is he's not throwing a fit, he's just...sitting there. Completely calm and collected, level-headed and wonders to himself just what the hell did he do to deserve this peaceful hell. It's hilarious.
Technically that's the lore accurate. Kriegsman throwing a fit is absolutely unthinkable in lore as Kriegsmen are overzealous in their servitude.
Their right up there with Maccaban Janissaries and Mordian Iron Guard….now a Catachan Jungle fighter on the other hand

@@St.Raptor Well, people are mad with obsession of success and a frenzied need of thrive everywhere now. US is one of the most striking examples, but far from being the only one.
Only ones in dare need to find a purpose for their struggle, mental crutch which can support them in their quest to regaining their balance, would surely listen, even if desperately trying to find something what stoo them from falling into abyss, but being already deep in despair, good question if they would be still capable to hear and find powers to follow.
Make yourself a beacon capable to lead them out from the depth of darkness. Imo, one TRUE good did, one saved soul overshadows millions prayers. That's how I pray to God personally. Though, well, honestly, I can't brag that I have done or doing much, but at least I'm trying to do something. Don't overstretch yourself.
God wants us to understand him and be happy, not chasing something, losing everything what we are in the process.
Though, considering somewhat bad reputation of very strict hierarchical and demanding churches, better start from support and advices cleaned from hints where you got them. After a while they figure that out themselves or ask you.

doesn't have to be, the imperium is so massive. there are backwater planets that haven't seen anything for thousands of years. He is more likely to die of old age than chaos or some other invasion.

The administratum personnel that sent him there was to use the last survivor of his regiment to train local pdf of the world as a retired soldier. But the locals mistook the word retired and just left him as just another pensioner. Though it was odd that he is only 22.
22 is old for a Krieger though. They're normally dead before then.

on top of that even if the locals do have a PDF it's probably a once a year on a regional rotation so there is an mobilised military availble and training rather than a standing army so our lad here is sent to just one region (because they dont realise he would fine constantly moving across the world) and is only going to be doing drill Sargent duties 1/12 ish times a year

Lowkey... I hope that this planet doesn't get invaded. I think it'd be more fitting if he DID get transferred back to an actual battleground, and, instead of wanting to die for the emperor, he wants to live for the planet that welcomed him.
Then the krieger would probably be shot by his commissar. Some Kriegers do waver in their zeal and are shot if that does occur. This is the same reason why Krieg’s regiments are to operate independently of other imperial support so their ideology and zealous beliefs are not changed.
It feels so alien for someone to humanise a Krieger, even by a smidge. It’s almost comparable to the Master Chief doing a face reveal all of a sudden.

I think a kriegsman could be an excellent farmer. He is good at following orders, and borderline tireless, and has an enormous willpower. All he needs is the knowledge of how to do it, and he will work on the field all day, and night to provide that little food he make for the rest of the imperium. Might not be as glorious as a battle, but essential to the Imperium regardless.
And hey he comes witha shoval so why not.

James: Tomy if you don't finish you will only dealy also even if all regiments were unequal, there is a reasonable guess that other battles will finish before this one so get done with it!
I'd honestly like to see a German WW2 Veteran interact with this Krieger. The two of them talking about they're Experiences in War, and a part in the conversation where the Veteran explains to the Krieger that life isn't just about Dying for the Emperor to repent for your sins, sometimes there's other ways where you can repent that doesn't involve death. And that he should value his time left alive as well as the people that know him and care about him, like the girl he was talking to and find a way to live his life to the fullest. This small interaction could have a major impact on the Krieger. The next time he would fight a Battle, he wouldn't want to die to repent for his sins, he'd want to live for the People that welcomed, accepted, and cared for him. And that would inspire him to Fight harder than ever before.
@@schmeatgaming853 I think a WW1 stormtrooper (special type of German soldiers) would be far more fitting to meet a kreiger since the death corps are supposed to be experts in WW1 styled war fare or at least something like that plus the kreiger uniform looks like a good cross between german and french troops (i think a bit more in there as well) of ww1 so they would also look some what vaguely simulier
As Arch describes Krieger horses, “they are closer to fucking grizzly bears than horses.”
I can imagine a whole story with this guy slowly integrating into the population, marrying, getting lots of kids for the emperor only for the planet to be invaded and this old Krieger taking up arms, rallying the locals and holding out the defences against the aliens till reinforcements finally arrive. Before the planet is saved he of course dies but in his dying moments he looks around and seeing (some) his children survive he learns why the emperor needed men like him to fight. Not for the forgiveness of sins but for the survival of humanity.

The story of one surviving Krieg gives inspiration of all them to shovel through the mud and foes.
have him dig grounds to prepare for planting, he's good at digging holes, improve efficiency of farming. who knows, reasonable amount manual labor is good for the body and soul of all emperor fearing men.

For a krieger this is hell and heresy. For all we know he has been sucked into the warp and they are trying to mentally break him in the only way they can, by slowly converting him to peace.

This was too sweet. It's soul-crushing that Kriegers just don't get civvie life and the fact that they fight for it. But it always brings a smile to my face when the DK are put in a fish-out-of-water situation like this.

To be fair the the kriegsman most herbivores are actually facultative herbivores meaning though they more often then not eat plants, they can consume meat. So their horses doing so isn’t as crazy as it sounds.

I have already seen the second one but I have a comment that I feel like leaving.
I see this Krieger to be a test to see if they are even capable of reintegrating back into the imperium society without coming off as the deranged war maniacs we are all use to.
That is as long as this story does not turn out to be some sort of chaos god trick (I know very little on 40k but I have some ideas on how it works but for every lore video that get’s recommended I understand it slightly more)
