    I'm glad team-sport Leicester where I went to a month or so ago had actual petrol engine karts, and not electric, which means it was actually fast(ish). still was somehow also more slippery than the karting I did outdoors a couple weeks prior which was on a wet track!

    Nice video, very funny. Me and my mate were the ones you talked to in the changing room. Thst guy on reception was very rude and we complained on the feedback form but im not sure anything will be done about it!
    My mate in the red suit white helmet had never been to that track before and that was my 2nd time (guy in purple) and it just feels so slow!

    The Crawley track (on the ground floor) used to lack grip like that until they applied some kind of substance which gripped it up but to be honest I liked the lack of grip as it rewarded consistency and experience.

    The no traction flooring seems to be a running theme in a lot of teamsport tracks. Brighton is the only one off the top of my head that has none of it. It is absolutely HORRIBLE. Too anone who has never raced on it, i strongly advise too scream as much as possible. For no REason. Once I stepped on the gasd and immediatly spun out.. AT 6 MILES AN HOUR. HOW BAD OF A SURFACE I AM LITERRALY SO ANNOYED AT WHOEVER DECIDED THAT WAS A GOOD SURFACE FOR RACING

    Too true about the pinnacle of karting being 4 miles away. Fastlane is ace! Had loads of fun there as a teen when they had their place at Clough Street, and had a couple of races at King Street.
    Making you buy a membership to get on track quicker? There's only a few of you so why could he not go through a quick brief? Its not like he's trying to safety brief 90 lads and lasses at a motorbike trackday when theyre all on their phones and dicking about. Its easy enough - flags mean this, don't hit each other, on your way. And just because you have a membership, doesn't mean you don't automatically need the briefing, that just sounds like a dodge.
    I suspect your kart number may also have been a jinx ;)

    This is a track I’ve not been to yet, and based on your review may not be one I want to go to unless I want to waste my money and give myself unnecessary stress - but then those are grounds for good content so… 🤷🏻‍♂️ Great video - keep it up!

    1. Why are every indoor track in the UK at lest partially made out of plywood ?
    2. That’s not a track surface, that’s a miroir!
    No wonder you were sliding 24/7
    Nice video BDW !

    • @PericoKarting
      @PericoKarting  9 місяців тому +2

      I think the plywood thing is mainly Teamsport tracks, to be honest. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    • @SpeedyRank
      @SpeedyRank 8 місяців тому +1

      Plywood is used as its cheap and once rubbered in can provide good grip. Due to cost etc its not feasible to do upstairs bits in concrete/asphalt.
      And the downstairs was done with the wrong concrete when the track was done, tbf during summer its actually good but winter its an ice rink. But I tell you this it prepares you very well for wet weather racing xd

    Stoke now has got to be one off the worst tracks I’ve raced at, first time there done 37.7 speed 3 got membership done a race a year later on speed 4 and got a 47.1, 10 second difference… make that make sense staff claimed it was because it was cold outside 😂 but it’s not the track surface is basically made from ice but you should try Manchester Victoria I’m currently 4th fastest ever and 2nd this year on public sessions

    • @SpeedyRank
      @SpeedyRank 9 місяців тому

      Sadly mate the staff is right. During the summer the speed 4 times go down to 32/33s it’s just how badly the track was made with the wrong concrete it’s a shame.

    I once slid sideways at decent speed into someone at a rental kart place somewhere near Sheffield, because they red flagged it and I wasn't paying attention.
    The stewards just laughed.
    The fact you got black flagged for that in comparison is a fucking joke.

    • @PericoKarting
      @PericoKarting  8 місяців тому

      From what I've seen in videos and from what my friends have told me, TeamSport marshalling can be a volatile thing. You'll either get away with murder or be black flagged for something barely even worth the warning flag. It's a gamble for sure 😅

      I have a chin mount fastened to my helmet. It's easily removable, and if you put the camera on right, it's a great angle. Only issue is some karting venues don't allow chin mounts for some reason.
