    As impressive as this is, my overriding thought is how amazing the set designers did and how they built all of this. Don't forget that this really existed on a soundstage in paramount studios. Big respect to them for dreaming this up and then building it

    Those Voyager sets are just the best ones in all of Trek. The only ship that felt real to me on the inside. Great Job as always. Would love to get my hands on those assets to do renders in.

    When i was young playing Elite Force i loves that so much. Always inmaged how it would be if someone would create the intire ship, add missions so you play like the series. But all those big companies just let it die. But this is great!

    Out of all the Star Trek ships, I feel like Voyager had the best aesthetics for its interiors. As far as an interior I'd actually want to live in.
    And on top of that, you've made them look even better than they did in the show.
    It's amazing how much none of this looks dated to the 90's.
    Especially compared to how much the Enterprise D interiors are obviously 80's, or original Enterprise interiors are obviously 60's.

    Great work! The warp core looks great! I can't believe how realistic everything looks. Voyager always had excellent CG models but they never looked too real and CG was never ideal. But this level of realism is amazing. I wish they would remaster the show in HD widescreen, and you could provide brand new versions of all the model shots, with more detail than ever before. The opening shot of "Good Shepherd" would look way better now! :-)

    I love the Voyager engineering bay.
    My only issue is the random step channel near the entrance. I don't remember the actors stepping over that. Seems weird, like it shouldn't be there or it should be plastered with warning markings.

      Since the general layout of this set was similar to other preceeding series like TNG, where afaik there was no step leading into the Engineering section, it was interesting that they added that for Voyager, which could just aswell have been a shallow ramp.
      EDIT: Sidenote...what is remarkable for this set, was the directors efficient use of the same long left-/rightward curved corridor from different angles and entry/exit points to make it look like different hallways all across the ship, same way that afaik they had both the Transporter room and Astrometrics opposite of each other on the soundstage in the long straight Turbolift corridor.

    • @MatthewCaunsfield
      @MatthewCaunsfield 6 місяців тому

      @@avon_c6199 I think the step was instituted to make it easier for them to fit the lights under the floor - the TNG engine room never had anything like that, so didn't need it

    I would be curious to see how tight of a fit this section is within the exterior shell of the ship, since as far as I know you strive for a 1:1 fit with in-/exterior.
    The shows were always a bit more liberal in that regard and didn't put too much care into making it seem like stuff would fit.

    Wow, Sehr beeindruckend! ...nur so aus Neugierde: "warum gerade Intrepid?"... Der Kanal verschlägt mich ein wenig in meine Kindheit/frühe Jugendzeit mit Titeln wie "Star Trek : Interactive Technical Manual" und "Captains Chair". Computertechnisch unerfahren glaubte ich damals tatsächlich ich könne mich mit diesen Titeln durch das ganze Schiff bewegen, doch inzwischen wird dies tatsächlich möglich. Und dank RealtimeRaytracing und VR wird man sich bald wirklich glaubhaft in oder auf so einem Schiff wiederfinden können. Was mich persönlich auch sehr freut ist meine lieblingssoftware Blender zu erblicken :)

      Danke, ich bin generell ein StarTrek Fan und hatte viel Spaß mit Elite Force 1, 2, Star Trek Armada, BridgeCommander, Klingo Honor Guard und so vielen mehr. Dann wurde es ja nach dem Staffel Ende von Enterprsie mit Captain Archer sehr ruhig um StarTrek. Viele Jahre später im August 2013 packte mich dann die Nostalgie und der Frust darüber das jahrelang keine guten StarTrek Spiele erschienen, waren kam mir der Gedanke ein eigenes Spiel zu machen. Dabei war die Voyager dafür ideal. Sie ist moderner als die Enterprise D und wesentlich kleiner. Es sind nur 15 Decks. Sie hat den Deltaflyer und das Aeroshuttle, sie war im Deltaquadranten was mir die Möglichkeit gibt einen Handlungsstrang auszudenken der eben dort stattfindet und ich finde sie wunderschön. Die internen Sets sahen einfach klasse aus. Selbst heute sehen sie immer noch super aus und heute ca. 10 Jahre später habe ich vieles davon bereits fertig gebaut und es wird nicht mehr alzulange dauern bis ich das Spiel lizensieren lasse um es dann der Welt zu präsentieren. @@DanielBrainbox Als damals TNG und DS9 noch parallel liefen und etwas später Voyager dann übernahm,...das waren meiner Ansicht nach noch richtig goldene Zeiten für Star Trek. Ja, auch Spieletechnisch. Elite Force war ein Muss, DS9 the Fallen auch recht interessant. Star Trek Academy fand ich damals ziemlich gelungen. Die genannten Spiele waren alle schon sehr Action betont, die meisten waren schlicht Shooter oder Raumkampfsimulatoren. Die ich auch sehr genossen hatte, aber meine ersten star trek spiele waren noch "star trek 25th Anniversary" und "The Final Unity". Beides Spiele die noch mit Rätzeln vollgepackt waren. Diese art von Star trek Spielen waren dann leider nie mehr wieder gesehen. Dabei war das doch klassisch Star Trek, das lösen von Rätzeln. Naja,..Nach Archer wurde es tatsächlich viel zu ruhig. Doch obwohl oder gerade weil ich stets ein großer Star Trek Fan war und nachwievor bin, war die wiedergeburt von Star Trek durch die Kinofilme der Kelvin Timeline und alles war darauf folgte von Discovery bis Picard für mich eine aneinanderreihung von schmerzhaften Enttäuschungen. Ein kleiner Lichtblick ist für mich noch "Strange new Worlds"....Ich wäre sehr neugierig wie "Du" (falls ich darf) die Entwiklung wahr nimmst !? und in weiterer Folge welche Tonalität bzw. Mechnik Dir so für Dein Spiel vorschwebt? Qapla
