It was the woman's fault. The announcer was wrong. You can clearly see that her skate traveled toward him on her last revolution before she hit the blade. Contrariwise, there is no discernable movement toward her of the man's skate.
It's a shame Jessica endured 2 ice skating accidents but the fact that she came back to the tournament and with the same partner is a true sign of trust. From what I heard she never expressed any anger towards her skating partner but I wouldn't be surprised if she stopped skating after the 2nd accident. I'm glad she's ok
That first accident, they were looking so perfectly synched it was beautiful. Fast and powerful, too, real contenders? Oh well, it’s a dangerous sport, respect to them.
But it wasn't her fault that she had an accident? She did look pretty relaxed but it clearly wasn't her fault, and it may not have been either of their faults On the contrary, I was not at all relaxed from the title and thumbnail, before the accident my heart was like 📈📈📈📈

I’m terrified to go skating again. When I was 6 or 7 my dad took me skating and there were like 15-16 year old boys who played hockey and I fell and they didn’t bother to slow down at all and had a skate go over my hand...
I forget how incredibly sharp the blades are. Every time I’ve watched skating competitions with couples, I have my eyes partially covered because of how close they get to each other at times. Especially when they are going as fast as they do. Scary!
Really!?! This is going to set them back?? Who the eff cares about any standings or medals after what happened? I think that comment is so insensitive.
Everything was going so smoothly and just because they got too close for a bit... Damn how did this happen, that should be like the top priority security rule to remember for duo performers!
actually you are supposed to not move while spinning and then this wouldn’t happen. The thing is that if you’re too far away from each other you’ll get points deducted. So it is in fact really scary because in partner skating you have to trust your partner 100% and if you make a mistake it can be very dangerous for your partner(&you of course)
The poor woman... I felt extremely bad for her, I can't even imagine how scared she must've been... She had an incredible amount of luck that she didn't lose an eye that day, this video is a reason for me to never start this sport in my life, it's just too dangerous... I'm glad that she recovered from her injury 🙏🏻❤
People forget how pears and ice dancing is so dangerous. Not only can you get a scar like this but you can break your neck your back concussions... the list of life-altering risks is mind-blowing.
Y’all blaming fault on either ice skater- Do you even know how fast one spins around on the ice? Very very fast. The fact that the accident happened is not that shocking. They came close to each other and can’t react super fast mid spin (and risk ruining their dance), till someone’s actually injured
Notice how in every other performance, after the skaters fall or somehow get injured they quickly get up and continue, but as Jessica fell her partner immediately stopped to check on her
I remember doing that once with my close friend I accidentally hit her in the back so hard I heard a loud noise and she telling me she can’t get up and her back hurts and I realized her back broke I dragged her and she was at the hospital and she recovered we promised we’ll never do it again
Can we also talk about how talented the man is, like she is quite talented, but he's got it to, he also seems like a very sweet man, u can see how scared and worried he was when it happened, its nice to see them working again, but imagine how he feels whenever he sees the scar
Omg I can't imagine the trama, getting thru the trama, fighting to trust, then being hurt again!!! The guilt that not feels must be out the roof... so sorry for both. She is still very beautiful. The demons in their minds and memories are going to be the hardest to beat....😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤

He 100% traveled towards her. She didn't move her position nor could she move towards him only away from him
you guys can’t really control where you’re going in ice skating so you shouldn’t be blaming the guy for it
@@wioi You can definitely see her moving closer towards him by watching the feet and head in reference to the background. At both 4:00 and 2:40. Though he does move closer to her as well. Its just an accident on both ends yet the announcers instantly say "without a doubt -because of Bryce's traveling" which is just unprofessional
I Can Just imagine how awful the guy must have felt
ik i couldn’t help thinking that because if i was him i would feel absolutely terrible
I would feel terrible
I would feel terrible, but i would be worried for the other person than myself because they are the one who get injured
You can tell he was horrified and felt terrible about it. He immediately stopped and went to her.
Oh man.. I actually flinched so hard when the blade made contact
Poor girl, glad she’s ok.
that's a grown a$$ lady, lol
this is absolutely terrifying to see
knowing what happened in this performance, everything about this video is haunting to me
😮 Thank God she is alive! ❤ perfect skating couple.
That first accident, they were looking so perfectly synched it was beautiful. Fast and powerful, too, real contenders? Oh well, it’s a dangerous sport, respect to them.
The scar does not take away from her beauty.
Shows her endurance and love for the sport.
I watched this program as it happened when I was a kid and I’m so glad she is ok
I was actually equally concerned about the guy, because he probably felt really bad. But, it will heal.
Both Jessica and her partner had to be treated for PTSD after the accident, it definitely took a toll on him mentally
My heart went out to him. I can only imagine how horrified he felt.
@@Tomisnormalhe was pretty happy, he was so happy that he did it again 😂

“It’s one thing after another with this team” I’ve never seen this accident before and that line just made me sad…
"Look how relaxed Jessica looks" didn't age well😭😭😭
Why??
@@johilethhernandez3963 because she ended up having an accident?? Didn't you watch the video
hahahaha, so true
But it wasn't her fault that she had an accident? She did look pretty relaxed but it clearly wasn't her fault, and it may not have been either of their faults
On the contrary, I was not at all relaxed from the title and thumbnail, before the accident my heart was like 📈📈📈📈
@lizz9907 who said it was her fault, tho?
SHE IS STILL SO PRETTY hope she continues
This is so heartbreaking. I’m glad she was ok. I know her partner felt just awful😢
The scar does not take away from her beauty.
Shows her endurance and love for the sport.
I cried out when she got hit and I’m so happy that she made a full recovery and did not quit.
To have a love for something that much.
she’s so cute even with that scar
yeah to be honest thats a badass scar
I feel so bad omg this almost made me cry 😢
Who are here after the reel
Literally me from insta😭
@@Rosesarerosie43 I have seen it before 3 months
What a sad break, after such a beautiful performance.
Thank God it didnt hit her eyes. She just gotten healed from a knee surgery and this happened 😢
Dear lord, how tragic. I feel so sad for both of these great skaters. Please keep skating together because you are beautiful together..
🤕😰Pray Jessica recovers, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. God bless you. 🙏
this happened in 2007 lol
I think she needs to stop skating with him...
Why? Accidents happen, it’s not his fault.
@@spyfalls_ the first injury, he travelled while doing the spins. He hit her. Not on purpose but it was his fault. And the second injury, he dropped her. Ive been skating for going on 12 years. Both injuries were his fault.
SuperGingerForever Well you might think that but Jessica doesn’t.
@@spyfalls_ and that is Jessica's prerogative. I put in my opinion after he could've killed her once and could've broken her bones a second time due to his incompetence.
SuperGingerForever Well it’s not up to you is it
it made me cry literally 😢😢
Exacto!! Ash
That annoucer should have been fired right away!
Wow what an. accident.
That guy wasn't the right partner for her for sure.
Great job again babe ko.
Glad it was not her eye.
She is still beautiful and a wonderful ice skater.
I’m terrified to go skating again. When I was 6 or 7 my dad took me skating and there were like 15-16 year old boys who played hockey and I fell and they didn’t bother to slow down at all and had a skate go over my hand...
holy fuck....
Do you still got a hand? Or did he go flying?
Hockey players are the worst to skate near.
I hope they got reported to their coach and got benched
I forget how incredibly sharp the blades are. Every time I’ve watched skating competitions with couples, I have my eyes partially covered because of how close they get to each other at times. Especially when they are going as fast as they do. Scary!
Really!?! This is going to set them back?? Who the eff cares about any standings or medals after what happened? I think that comment is so insensitive.
For people who dont want to wait 2:43
Everything was going so smoothly and just because they got too close for a bit... Damn how did this happen, that should be like the top priority security rule to remember for duo performers!
actually you are supposed to not move while spinning and then this wouldn’t happen. The thing is that if you’re too far away from each other you’ll get points deducted.
So it is in fact really scary because in partner skating you have to trust your partner 100% and if you make a mistake it can be very dangerous for your partner(&you of course)
@@jxll_25its nearly impossible to not travel ATLEAST slightly
This is hard to watch knowing that something is about to happen...
Omg! Poor girl! I bet he feels so bad! Awe!❤
HES always hurting her I can’t LMAO
And the first accident doesnt even seem to be her fault. God bless all olympics and gymnists
Skip to 2:40 if you just want to see what happened
Ty
Ty so much
People forget how pears and ice dancing is so dangerous. Not only can you get a scar like this but you can break your neck your back concussions... the list of life-altering risks is mind-blowing.
Why would they how the slow mo wtf
Y’all blaming fault on either ice skater-
Do you even know how fast one spins around on the ice? Very very fast. The fact that the accident happened is not that shocking. They came close to each other and can’t react super fast mid spin (and risk ruining their dance), till someone’s actually injured
Notice how in every other performance, after the skaters fall or somehow get injured they quickly get up and continue, but as Jessica fell her partner immediately stopped to check on her
plus since it wasn't just a fall--he felt his blade collide with her--he knew it was BAD so there's not point continuing, just help her.
My love for ice skating dropped after watching this video
I remember doing that once with my close friend I accidentally hit her in the back so hard I heard a loud noise and she telling me she can’t get up and her back hurts and I realized her back broke I dragged her and she was at the hospital and she recovered we promised we’ll never do it again
3:58 she traveled towards him too, watch it and you’ll see. They both traveled towards each other. 3:58
She's the better skater cause he's the one making the mistakes. You've got to be able to trust your partner, it's so important!
Nope. She kept touching down the ice each time after slipping. Accidents happen.
@@ec23472 Thank you for sharing your opinion, but we can agree to disagree. Would you still feel that way if she had been the one to kick him in the face, or do you have little respect for women?

Poor girl. Way too close. I'm so glad she was okay.
"Jessica looks so relaxed"
*not even 2 minutes later*
"OH-! OH NO!"
If I were her, there is no way I would ever skate with that same partner again!
Did he really say “This is gonna be a huge setback “??????????

It was a very sad and tragic accident. I wish her much health and all the best. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
My heart was racing the entire time waiting for disaster 🫣
Yeah and it was worse than I expected ugh ! She’s so brave though
It looked like they both traveled towards each other
“I think it’s a good sign that she’s crying”
NOTHING IS GOOD ABOUT THIS.
The fact that she is alive/didn’t passed out sounds pretty good to me, which is probably what that coment means
It meant that she was awake and alert. If she had been quiet that would have meant she was going into shock.
The scar has healed nicely, she is still beautiful as ever. Best wishes to the both of them.
“That’s gonna be a huge setback for the team”
Your not even gonna be like “oh my is she okay?” HOW IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK ABOUT WHEN SOMEONE IS INJURED HOW ITS GONNA BE A SETBACK?!?!
I think it was said because she was really hurt, and to have something like that happen....where you have put in so much time, effort, and energy into it, it IS a huge set back.
@@janetslater129 OOOOOH nah bc I was so worried for the girl
