The pain is real. I have popped ligament in my ankle and the pain is crazy bad. It shoots right thru your eyeballs. Those of you calling her fake have no idea what you are talking about.
I am sure the the realization that she will now have to rehab again and spend months to just get back to where she is in her game is emotionally agonizing as evidence in her words "not again" as she was laying there. Hopefully her injury will not be serious and she will bounce right back in a week or two.
I been watching her for a while and I feel her pain l, injury after injury rehab after rehab she broke down and the pain is not again why me, it sucks. I wish her a speedy recovery. She was playing very well up to this point.
This was sad to watch! I know exactly what a major ankle injury feels like! I broke my ankle bone and it snapped in half and the ligaments completely tore off the bone! My foot was swinging 360 degrees! I was skateboarding when this happened over 15 years ago. I am fine now thank you!
Nobody can truly know what people are going through, let alone professional athletes. These are individuals who strive for this dream and continuously work harder and harder to feel as healthy and strong as possible. Although, there are moments where injuries occur when you least expect them. It's frustrating no doubt to have to deal with it on a consistent basis. These types of moments is what is only helping create the most magical and memorable of comeback stories. Bianca has dealt with a lot and who knows what else she is going through but i truly wish the best for her and her family. Rooting Bianca on with my whole heart. Overcoming great adversities and getting back up and fighting for your dream time and time again is what makes a true and most deserving. champion. Get well soon Bianca!
I fully agree, her opponent getting ice made me tear up even more. Then the hug. Idk maybe that's all standard professional sportsmanship, but I don't think so. Not everyone physically can stand by witnessing someone in serious pain. Some of us are empathic and feel pain in that situation. Also known as the reason I never became a paramedic or nurse or doctor. I can and do still help and do a fine job, but if it were my career it would take way too much out of me. So it did mean a lot that she stayed and hugged.
What exactly do you think "better medical staff" was going to do for her? And who would these better medical staff people be? Certified Athletic trainers know what they are doing. The athlete was clearly aware that she damaged her ankle , I don't know her history but she appears to be reacting to a reinjury or a similar injury from her past and she knows it's probably going to involve surgery and close to a year of rehab. That's an emotional reaction that anyone would have. Within minutes she stops crying and sits up.
When she hears the fans cheering for her, again, she cries (I don't blame her). End of the day, the trainer is trying to stabilize the leg and watch for signs of shock. Then it's off to the hospital for xrays, MRI and plans for surgery.
Tennis is not an easy sport as people might think. I used to play for 30 some years, had to stop due to knees and ankles issues, please get well soon Bianca.
Anyone who thinks tennis is easy has obviously never played at a reasonable level or above. Tennis takes an incredible amount of physical and mental skill. More than any other sport I can think of really.
I was an emt back in the day. Femur fractures were something we trained extensively. We had a HARE traction splint we used for femur fractures. As soon as we put it on a pt with a broken femur and set the tension it helped reduce the pain. I only had to see 1 broken femur and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’m so sorry you were alone. That is an injury where you need someone with you.
How is there no legitimate EMS at this event? An ambo crew with medics, stretcher, and medications for pain should be O/S for this, not a middle aged woman and a guy with back packs and kind words.
Hee career is so much plagued by injury. She would have been an extreme star . She won a slam at just 16/17 years . If she didn’t have this much injuries her career would be something special. Get well soon Bianca
This isn't about the pain. She's a professional athlete working out and training constantly; she knows how to handle pain. It's the frustration and shock of: "wow, I've been working my butt off for years and years every single day and my career could end because too many injuries." This is her entire life that could go down the drain.
No, this IS about the pain! And all the thoughts are combined with it. ALL she is thinking right now is pain relief and not about the game she is out of.
As I was watching the match live, and just reviewed a video which I (thankfully) saved of the incident which I'd found online prior to it (as expected) being deleted, I have to disagree extremely strongly with your analysis. When a player is crying in absolute anguish, and can clearly be heard crying out, "I've never felt this kind of pain before!!!" (this is an EXACT quote of what she said while she was lying upon the court)... yeah, it's 100% about the pain.
This is so awful to see….my heart breaks so much. And I know most of you reading this have gone through pain such as this. If you’re mortal, you are going to endure really painful things. If it’s not physical, it’s going to be mental or spiritual pain. Last year I had reconstructive ligament and tendon surgery and also surgery to fix the talus bone I broke and the calcaneus bone I broke. I was in a cast and then walking boot for a total of 6 months. Up yo 18 months full recovery. People go through way worse, while others don’t. Just know all of you are freaking amazing being human and experiencing life!! Sending blessing and love to everyone and to Bianca ❤️
Why is it always a medical team with back packs for tennis matches seems very slow to react. In other sports they have EMTs and a stretcher. Ambulance on stand by. I think they should have better medical response team to help especially with injury and extreme pain Bianca was experiencing. I wish her the best and speedy recovery.
Pain is a perception in the brain, and can be worsened by feelings of fear, devastation, etc., as would understandably be the case when your career and passion are on the line. It's a real thing and nothing to do with weakness whatsoever. I feel bad for her and hope anyone judging her does not have to go through something similar to find out what it must feel like.
I am not even an athlete but after repeated injuries i reacted like this too. It wasnt the pain, it was the frustratikn of the injury happening AGAIN, knowing the weeks of rehabilitation i would need. I can't even imagine if my dreams depended on it 😢
Tennis is tough on the joints. I know. I played for over 30 years and had both knees replaced, and now I have chronic tennis elbow. I am a sports physical therapist and certified athletic trainer and when she yelled "not again" it is devastating. I have seen it before in athletes who have suffered multiple debilitating injuries just to go through it again.
"@robinharris4247" I once talked with a lady who said her boyfriend took up running and started to develop stress fractures. Some people's bodies are just more prone to athletic injuries than others.

Anyone saying it’s fake lacks a lot of intelligence as to how pain actually works (or they just think they are funny when they aren’t). It’s all the overwhelmingness behind the pain, the anxiety, heartbreak and then the injury itself.
I tore all of my ankle ligaments on my right foot during a competition and let me tell you, she is not exaggerating.. I would normally jump right back up but ended up screamed and crying in pain. It the worst pain I've ever felt.. My injury happened in march 2020, got surgery for it and it still hasn't healed. As an athlete, I feel terrible for her. It's gonna take a long time to recover. :( I hope she's okay now
Ya, I tore 2 ligaments and one tendon in my ankle, and the pain was brutal. Thought I broke it because of the crunching sound. Couldn't put any weight on it for 2 weeks. God, I feel bad for her. She's been through so much.
I had a really bad fall in 2012 where I broke my ankle 3 places. I was crying from pain and shock, I was on summer vacation and it was over in a heartbeat. Until you have been in that situation you can't say why someone is upset. If she had injury after injury the poor girl can cry all she wants. She's probably frustrated, mad, sad and in pain. I have had 5 surgeries since that break so I can understand some of what she's feeling.
I am in nearly same situation now, broke 3 places in my ankle with syndesmosis ligament torn during my vacation just started. Wonders how your ankle recovered fully, and why so many follow up surgeries you had to suffer through...
I used to have seizures from teenager to 29. I couldnt keep a job for the stigma back then. Each time i had one and woke up i cried like that because id hoped theyd leave with the medicines. I totally understand for me it was my job and s car. For her intense work, rehab, and fear of not competing again. It leaves u with a kind of ptsd.
I'd still be laying on the court crying if it happened to me and probably to most of you. These sports people are pretty tough, I'm sure it hurt and was frustrating. Hope she is up and around soon.
Great medical care. It probably hurt like hell, but only in the short run. She'll be better for it and will have saved her more pain. And great sportsmanship for her opponent to stand by the entire time Bianca is being treated. And great choice in not showing her injury in this video. It was unnecessary. Bravo! 🌹
That poor girl her pain had been so terrible I can't imagine 💔💔💔💔💔. It needed very long until they brought her out of the hall... I am not sure if the woman was the best choice moving her and sat her in the wheelchair. For my opinion they better had waited for the ambulance and carrying her in a laying position...
Pobre Andreescu. Cuando parecia que se recuberaba de su anterior lesion, le sobreviene otra. No se si la cancha no estaba completamente seca, porque el resbalon pareciera que fue por la cancha humeda.
Now I’ve been reading these comments about this girl and how what happened to her isn’t a big deal. Now think about this, you want to play a sport, maybe tennis, basketball, baseball, or whatever sport you want to play, and think that there are no injuries that go along with the sport you choose to play, but there are. Pain is real people, even I’ve been there with jump rope. I gave myself shin splints from that, and was it painful? Yes it was. I knew it wasn’t the end of the world, but it was painful. So this pain she’s experiencing is REAL and so is the struggle. So quit calling her a drama queen or any other negative name. Be mindful of others
@shanjones4869 she had 2 torn ligaments, a splint is a reasonable course of action in that scenario. If someone says they can't hold their foot up, yeah they kinda need some type of splint.
Ummm . . . EXCUSE ME . . . but this video shows NOTHING of s player's injury. Nothing of what or how it happened, and nothing of the injury itself, We see 5'39" of a player lying on the ground crying, AFTER some sort of ankle injury, then being wheeled off the court. Which ankle was injured? How did it happen? This is NOT what I consider "ENTERTAINMENT"!
The injury does not have to be visible on the outside. Depending on how sensitive the joints etc. are, you can get injured quickly. I did rhythmic gymnastics myself and unfortunately had to stop because of a lumbar spine injury. You couldn't see the pain from the outside, but it didn't feel good on the inside and, especially when you play tennis, you need very good legs and feet to be able to hit the ball. And you also have to run, and it can often happen that if you run to the left and suddenly to the right, your heels, ankles etc. give way and you tear a tendon.
I think yes the injury hurt but the realization she’s going to be out again for a couple months after not playing at all in 2020 and limited the last two seasons is even more what’s hurting. When she’s at her best she can beat anyone. Can she just get healthy and STAY healthy. I hope so
No matter what kind of injury this was or if she cried in pain or frustration ... why the f*** hell did the camera stay "on focus", revealing all this ... / Damn, if someone is in such a situation, turn off the camera ...

Everyone handles pain differently. While delivering for UPS I slipped on the last step getting out of my UPS truck and happened to land on a crack in the sidewalk. I turned my ankle so bad it I had cuts on the outside of my ankle bone..... One slab of the concrete sidewalk was an inch higher that the other. I had complete tears of my anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) and the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL)... While I had no broken bone, I did have to have cartilage fragments removed from the ankle... I will say that it has been the most painful injury I have ever had. Fortunately I was able to hop on one foot about 30 yards into the building I was delivering to...(this was prior to cell phones..at least for me) where I was able to call the UPS center... I didn't have the luxury of just laying on the ground,,,,, hope she was able to recover(I see this is 5 months old...)
As a guy who has played a lifetime of volleyball, sprained ankles are very common in that sport. Very painful for the first few minutes, but then that pain dulls out. Lots of ice to keep the swelling down, and with the right treatment, a player can be back in a week. Assuming this was indeed an ankle sprain, and not something else.
You clearly haven’t experienced anything above a grade 1 ankle sprain then. I experienced a grade 2 ankle sprain, swelled to the size of a softball and I couldn’t put ANY weight on it for a week, and couldn’t walk pain-free for nearly a month. Serious ankle sprains don’t go away in a week dude. She’s got two torn ligaments as of today. That’s not gonna heal in a week lol.
@@PapaScorch22 what you typed is not quite accurate. If treated correctly, an athlete can be back playing very quickly following a sprain. If not treated at all, sure, it will take over a month to recover from a sprain. In fact, it takes 6 months for a sprain to heal 100%, but that doesn't mean you have to wait that long to go back to playing sports. However, as a professional athlete, I am sure Bianca will have access to the best therapy possible. Hopefully she will be able to compete again competitively in a month.
It also depends on high vs low ankle sprain. High ankle sprains can do major damage and even if properly treated can take weeks or months to heal. I've had several during 50 years of equestrian sports and simply missing a step on a porch! Doc said it is sometimes better to have broken it than deal with the damage to the ligaments that occurs.
Really like Bianca, but she's just been dealt a bad hand in terms of her body and being injury prone...not sure she has a lot of comebacks left...a real shame
I broke my ankle on court 6 months ago and I still can’t play matches. It still hurts, I still can’t run and I burst into tears everytime I see a player hurt themselves on court. Bianca is not exaggerating, nor is she crying because of the pain; she is crying out of anger. The mental side of this is harder. I had the most succesful surgery, yet the healing takes a year. That’s without playing that is..

A lot of judgment in these comments, but I can completely understand why in the shock of the moment the outburst was this intense

The pain is real. I have popped ligament in my ankle and the pain is crazy bad. It shoots right thru your eyeballs. Those of you calling her fake have no idea what you are talking about.
My heart breaks for this poor woman. I know the agony of pain. I hope she is doing better.
That poor girl. This totally made me tear up. So
nice to see her competitor try to help her.

I couldn’t agree more
Much respect to the other player also whom helped her too x
I fully agree, her opponent getting ice made me tear up even more. Then the hug. Idk maybe that's all standard professional sportsmanship, but I don't think so. Not everyone physically can stand by witnessing someone in serious pain. Some of us are empathic and feel pain in that situation. Also known as the reason I never became a paramedic or nurse or doctor. I can and do still help and do a fine job, but if it were my career it would take way too much out of me. So it did mean a lot that she stayed and hugged.
Y!
Need better medical staff on stand by with better equipment this is sad. Looks like a high-school nurse in there.
I know! She didn’t even get the towels under her in time, moving her foot and making her scream! 😩
This is so very wrong. Total lack of medical attention, it's actually disgusting to see .
Shut up she is hurt so keep your own opinion your self
I give the lady helping her a big Thank You. She is doing her best with her.
Stop it 🥱
*I played for 30 some years. *ankle issues
Injuries like hers are very psinful.
who thinks?
Anyone who thinks tennis is easy has obviously never played at a reasonable level or above. Tennis takes an incredible amount of physical and mental skill. More than any other sport I can think of really.
Absolutly Heartbreaking. I wish you all the Best and i Hope you are quick healthy, Bianca.😘
Coming from a soccer player with terrible ankles, it is SO frustrating to re-injure them and it hurts more each time.
I had similar injury. I cried...it was femur neck fracture. No one helped me. I'm still unable to run...I can understand her pain.
100% thank you
Exactly
Seriously, this venue should never host again. That lack of basic preparation is just incompetent. 🫣

I feel very sorry for this Lady to haved that Painful injury and I'll be praying for her on her speedy recovering.Amen.
This isn't about the pain. She's a professional athlete working out and training constantly; she knows how to handle pain. It's the frustration and shock of: "wow, I've been working my butt off for years and years every single day and my career could end because too many injuries." This is her entire life that could go down the drain.
Ya ya ya lol 😂 faker
No, this IS about the pain! And all the thoughts are combined with it. ALL she is thinking right now is pain relief and not about the game she is out of.
@MCL1972 because of sprained ankle im on tramadol everyday, because my legs hurt and I work on foot :(
As I was watching the match live, and just reviewed a video which I (thankfully) saved of the incident which I'd found online prior to it (as expected) being deleted, I have to disagree extremely strongly with your analysis. When a player is crying in absolute anguish, and can clearly be heard crying out, "I've never felt this kind of pain before!!!" (this is an EXACT quote of what she said while she was lying upon the court)... yeah, it's 100% about the pain.
@@Lewotobitheking Are you a walking messenger?
Prayers to you and your recovery
Tears of mostly anger and frustration. Poor girl. Our bodies are sometimes frail vessels for fierce spirits.
Where’s ambulance?? Unbelievable how it works in the States..
My days playing tennis are numbered, and as much as I detest pickleball, I have to join the geezer squad in a new sport. The way these youngsters are playing the game of tennis today is unbelievable. It wasn't even humanly possible back in my days. It's fantastic to watch. My heart goes out to Bianca. Get well soon.
"@bobchew2143" Certain sports have really become about pushing envelopes.
Months later, I looked it up and it says she tore 2 ligaments. She was both in the most pain she'd ever been in and devastated by that fact of course. I cried watching this.
@@obscurelyvague That is true, some people are built to run some are not, some are built to powerlift some are not. Your right. There are things you can do to change that to a degree but some things you just can't........

Anyone saying it’s fake lacks a lot of intelligence as to how pain actually works (or they just think they are funny when they aren’t). It’s all the overwhelmingness behind the pain, the anxiety, heartbreak and then the injury itself.
Useless if they are the medical staff. Poor girl she is in so much pain.
Give this girl every chance this injury derailed her career bless her❤
I tore all of my ankle ligaments on my right foot during a competition and let me tell you, she is not exaggerating.. I would normally jump right back up but ended up screamed and crying in pain. It's gonna take a long time to recover. :( I hope she's okay now
She was back in a month. Lower-grade tear, fortunately. No surgery.

I also broke my ankle in 3 places in 2017. I have a plate & 10 titanium screws permanently placed to hold me back together.
Great medical care. It probably hurt like hell, but only in the short run. She'll be better for it and will have saved her more pain. And great sportsmanship for her opponent to stand by the entire time Bianca is being treated.

Been there. The real pain hits when you realize you have to go thru excruciating rehab for months, again.
We love you bianca!!!
An official sporting event and no splints available?! Seriously. 😢
May God grant her a quick recovery!
You don’t need splints if there’s no fracture !
@shanjones4869 she had 2 torn ligaments, a splint is a reasonable course of action in that scenario. If someone says they can't hold their foot up, yeah they kinda need some type of splint.
@@AnimaSola3o4 exactly. Tore mine this summer and have been using a brace for weeks!

Ummm . . . EXCUSE ME . . . but this video shows NOTHING of s player's injury.
Sports is a dangerous thing. So many have suffered terrible pain from serious injuries. 😮😢
I think yes the injury hurt but the realization she’s going to be out again for a couple months after not playing at all in 2020 and limited the last two seasons is even more what’s hurting. When she’s at her best she can beat anyone. Can she just get healthy and STAY healthy. I hope so
Meu Deus! Há medicação para aliviar a dor que essa atleta está sentindo?

Where is the gurney? Where is EMS? These girls play hard. They go all in and they deserve better medical services than what was shown here. If it had been men on the field, would the response been better? That’s the question I asked myself.
@Sauga Verse - She had 2 torn ligaments in her left ankle. So, NO, she will not be back in a week!!
She tore 2 ligaments

I broke my ankle on court 6 months ago and I still can’t play matches. It still hurts, I still can’t run and I burst into tears everytime I see a player hurt themselves on court. Bianca is not exaggerating, nor is she crying because of the pain; she is crying out of anger. The mental side of this is harder. I had the most succesful surgery, yet the healing takes a year. That’s without playing that is..
