Everything your doing is correct in terms of painting ,i did 3 8ft long radiators like this the other week in an old Victorian house but to be honest it would of been cheaper for the owner to just replace them with new ones but the Decorator got the wages and the plumbers lost out for once .

I’ve just painted a radiator exactly like this one. I followed your advice in your other videos, but I took the side and top panels off and painted them separately, I think it gave me a better result

Good Job. Don't see many of those where I live. I have a few questions..
1.What did you wipe the radiator with after sanding. I think you said metholated spirits. Is that the same thing as MEK in the U.S?
    2. After priming with BIN, your next coat you called an under coat. Is an under coat the same thing as a 1st coat of the paint?
3.In other videos of yours, I see you mix PVA out of a container and mix it with water to seal peeling paint, bare plaster, damaged walls, etc.. Is the PVA you use, the same thing as the PVA we use in the U.S which is already mixed to prime new drywall? If not, what is the difference and where might I buy a similar product like the one you use to dilute with water to accomplish results similar to yours?
I have been painting for many years. One is never to old to learn. Your tips, tricks and end results are second to none when it comes to restoration and historic home renovations. Thanks for posting your videos.

    • @PaintingandDecorating

Thanks.. meths is industrial alcohol.. undercoat is not a primer.. it is used before applying gloss.. PVA also known as school glue, wood glue.

Supreme rad painting in action. Firstly. Take the panels off. Or split that build up off. Most importantly never undercoat hot metal. It has no where near the amount of flexibility as gloss. And may lead to cracking. As it gets hot. 2 coats of gloss. Thirdly needs to be waterbased. No light no white. 2020 and your using instant yellow gloss...and I didn't know Meths acts as an etching primer. Learn something every day.

£30 ??????? You have to find and buy the same brand then, otherwise you have to fix the new brackets and the connection with the pipe will be slightly off as well. Then you have to pay the plumber who won't be cheap. Even if you buy the same brand you know it starts pealing of in a year time.

Meths spirits is not and has never in the history of man ever been used nor will it act as an etching.
