Homeland is an edge-of-your-seat sensation. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is tops in her field despite being bipolar, which makes her volatile and unpredictable. With the help of her long-time mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), Carrie fearlessly risks everything, including her personal well-being and even sanity, at every turn. You won't be able to turn away from this gripping, emotional thriller in which nothing short of the fate of our nation is at stake.

I agree, it's the best series, so underrated! People simply choose what they will put on the hype, as thousands of series worse than Homeland. Sometimes I feel sad because I wish everyone could get to know and enjoy this show, but other times I am happy to know that it was not a show for everyone, it is very intelligent, difficult to understand and very interpretive, in addition to being cruel, real and sad , people are too lazy to think.

Homeland is one of the most compelling series of all time, in my opinion second to the HBO series the Wire. Take it home Carrie, can't wait.

what Do you to know of the red books Saul and Anna use for their communication?
Those red books are from the Tauchnitz Edition. The character Andrei Kuznetsov (Sergey Nasibov) mentions it at 34min:09s in "The English Teacher" (S8 E11). Either Leslie Linka Glatter or Alex Gansa himself said the books in the show were provided by Alex Gansa or Alex Gansa’s father. I don’t remember the exact detail about that.
We can say that Carrie/Saul was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Brody, Quinn and Dar Adal... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts:
    - Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press?
    - Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder?
    - Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think.
    - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ??
Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else.
Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt!
“And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ... ”
    - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world?

This show has outperformed itself. Back in its beginning, everybody was comparing it with the legendary 24 series. Now both shows are basically done, fans of Homeland can proudly say that they are very different show and is not in anyway inferior than 24. Imagine there is a crossover of 24 and Homeland...

Three things I want from the finale: 1. Don't kill Saul. 2. Carrie sees Frannie. 3. Carrie and Yevgeny together; even if she has to go with him to Russia. No one will ever understand either of them the way they understand each other.

To be perfectly honest, she was largely responsible for her current situation. With every step of her erratic mission in Afghanistan, she took the bait. As she told that FBI agent, she found in him (Yevgeny) the help that her own side had denied.
That was before everything got out of your control. Before he put a needle in his neck and asked the impossible.
She had been so angry afterwards. With him, of course, and also with herself for trusting him and her side for losing sight of what was important.
For God's sake, he manipulated her to the point that she really considered killing Saul. Was that black box she was obsessed with worth it? or was there another way out as Saul suggested? Was his mental state still responsible for all this mess?
Will Carrie ever be able to leave Russia at the end of the series? Obviously she can’t go back to the U.S., now is she dealing with an Edward Snowden-type scenario where any travel would end with her extradition? How badly does the U.S. want her? It’s kind of a sad thought to imagine her never being able to take a trip (besides to countries that won’t extradite).
I don’t think it’s like an Ed Snowden-type thing. So I think they can travel together, because of Yevgeny/GRU.
I’m not sure how badly the US wants her… probably somewhat now not as much as they want Snowden. The charges filed against her in S8.E11 would have been dropped after the flight recording footage was released. Now she probably broke laws spilling secrets in her book.

Got to Season 2 of this series, reluctantly...then REALLy had to slug it out to swallow the whole back-and-forth "LOST" syndrome of, "she likes him"...."oh, nevermind, she is out to get him"....to....oh "she does like him".....to....."oh, nevermind AGAIN"....over and over......the same "LOST" syndrome with...."is she going mad?".....to......"oh, she's oka now".....to....."Oh, she's going mad right now"......to...."okay, she is doing 45 seconds of 'not crazy' now".........and that LEVEL 10 angry/hurt face Claire Danes CONSTANTLY puts out...that big-bug-eyed, furled brow look of "someone just ran over my grandmother" over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.....I can hear the car go into reverse each time, squooshing grandmama just so we can see the Claire Danes level 10 crazy face........by the 3rd such facial gesture, I was rolling my eyes and how disconnected this level 10 stuff is from the audience.
. I am convinced that Claire Danes does not have a problem with range....she has a problem with ANYTHING between 0 and 10. THen there's this stupid idea they try to sell to the audience that: it's okay for her to be hurt by Brody...but not okay for the audience to hate her for her part in breaking up a marriage and hurting Brody's wife by being his side whore because...well, because "IT'S LOVE!" Horseshit.
THEN there is the HUUUGE,glaring flaw from the first second of the pilot of sensitive information just flowing all over the place, from walls of a home shared with "Daddy" to phone calls between Brody and a dozen other people...NONE of which might be listened in on by intelligence agencies, not to mention 'mute guy', a non-cleared brother of some tech who is allowed to see and hear all kinds of clandestine information......
None of this info leakage passes the sniff test to anyone that knows anything about intel.
But that doesn't really matter because seasons 1 and 2 are like 10% about Homeland security and global events and about 90% broken marriage + lust being listened in on for absolutely ZERO gain in the fight against threats in the show.
I made it to Season 2 Ep 8......not the first gratuitous sex scene...which Carry derides EVERYONE about...except of course whoring herselg out...after all....like girl scouts selling chocolate bars....'it's for a goood cause'.
Is she in love? is she just out to get Brody? Is she just crazy? No one really cares by Seaon 2 because it has bounced between those 3 things INCESSANTLY for like 20 episodes.
Again, it's like "LOST" season #74.....no one cares about these characters after that much flip-flopping.
    Manure
People who like this type of production are into the oversensualized intrigue because they just love the idea of relating to being filthy.
None of these characters are even redeemable...so no one cares about them.

The suspension of disbelief required of this season has been so far beyond the charts that its clear it all had to end. There is only so much disbelief one can suspend - which has made this season a pathetic one with the most ridiculous levels of lazy writing imaginable. Love the show (!!!) sure, but lazy cheap writing and a host of impossible scenarios bring this all into a sad 😢 sad sad state of affairs. The end is near at hand by going over the abyss. Oh well. Reality bites.
