I was once in a party in Pune 12 years ago, college fest, I was a fresher alone, dressed in canvas sneakers, folded full-sleeve shirt and jeans, sipping on a virgin mojito. I had a simple phone, no cam, so I didn't pull it out much. A popular dude with a couple of girls waved at me, I thought they noticed I was alone and called me, when I reached there, they said "bill la de". I left the place.

Hiii Freisha, @Whack really nice vid. I do follow you on regular basis. You should do Boston sometime and we could meet. :) I have just landed here for my studies. I totally agree with what you said, most of the Indians here do not want to get out of their comfort zone and always looks for Indian people to bond with. Maybe thats a human nature to have an inclination towards people of your own nationality. But hey I feel, if you are in abroad, the only way to learn their culture is by being friends with them.I am friends with Americans at my school and they really are helpful and friendly. But they are little shy and it was me who approached them and they responded back in a really nice way.
Also please make a video on "creepy Indian guys in foreign land". I have encountered it for a few times now that some Indian guys stare at Indian and american girls in so pathetic way as if they haven't seen one in their entire life. By doing his they only dragging the name of India and sophisticated Indians residing here to the mud.

Excellent tips, thanks! I specially liked the first one about not looking down into one's mobile. I see a lot of people habitually doing that and to me it's an an immediate, subtle 'back off I'm not going to talk' signal. What I'm still coming to grips with is the not being too expressive bit!

Also only thing i was lacking was that handshake thing you told i always do the nod or wave because i used to think a handshake would be too much. And yes i can't remember names i am horrible at it. Please make more such videos about how to be socially confident. I need some tips.

I like a room full of strangers. Its a fresh start. What freaks me out are the half cases - aunties, relatives, mean classmates etc I feel utterly uncomfortable with them.
