Absolutely agree, Adrian is one of the tastiest Hard Rock/ Metal players of all time. His solos have feel and are always in great contexts with the songs. He in my mind took Maiden to another level.

Adrian is outstanding, especially his work during the golden era of Iron Maiden the 1980's. Everything from his solos to his rhythm parts were drenched in feel and melody. I loved how he would bend chords and apply vibrato adding an emotional weight to the arrangements. He possessed (and still does) the ability to inject ear candy and hooks into Maiden's songs so tastefully. He also had an almost pop sensibility he brought to the band through his songwriting that made them stand out from the other metal acts of the time. While it's personal and subjective, when he left the band in 1990, I felt so much of the band's magic and chemistry left with him. In the studio albums that followed his departure, the band as a whole felt depleted of flow and next level class without him. It's no surprise when he and Bruce returned in 1999, the band returned to being a superpower in the metal world again.

What makes this such a fantastic video is that Rick is giving John, Tosin and Devin room to speak, and they are all giving each other room to speak. Ah, I'm just enjoying all Rick's interviews with guitar heroes so much at the moment.

Thank you Devin for mentioning Enya and watermark. As a metalhead guitar player that loves Lamb of God and Metallica, In Flames, etc one of my biggest influences I still listen to all the time is Enya. Breath of fresh air hearing that

Great to know that someone like Devin was into it as well.

So funny to hear Devin talk about “the guy who plays it, but when you try to, it never sounds like that”. I was one of the engineers on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year, and myself and a counterpart looked at each other and said the same thing when Frampton started jammin’ at soundcheck. It was just awesome to be standing there hearing that.

@@taunokekkonen5733 There was a time when Yngwie filled stadiums, at least in Japan in the 80s. Hendrix is nothing like Petrucci and although Yngwie recognizes Hendrix as one of his greatest influences when it came to starting to play the guitar, Yngwie developed his own style light years away from any guitarist, just like Eddie Van Halen did at the time.
