i totally get when carli means when she gets the ick the second her crush likes her back. im the same way!! i think it stems from my not liking to be flirted with. i haaate being spoken to in a flirtatious manner or spoken to like someones trying to "win me over". it feels disingenuous. like just talk to me like a normal person. just because im a girl (cis straight female) that you may like more than a friend, doesn't mean you can't still talk to me like a normal person?? like just be nice and genuine! i like a person because theyre a good person and funny and smart -- not because you have "skills" in picking up women. the biggest ick. im in a relationship with a man for almost 2 years and one of the reasons why i think i liked him so much and why it worked out is because he just spoke to me like a normal person. he asked questions and was genuinely curious and wanted to get to know me. he didnt flirt or try to so hard. i just hate feeling like an object and i think that happens a lot with women especially when it comes to dating and crushes.

Republican here- love Mike’s perspective on it. I like that he can respect other political reviews and use it as an opportunity for conversation, BUT I don’t believe it should be a motive to change or convert someone. We can both be firm in our beliefs and still have good conversations without trying to convert each other! Love the pod, I watch every week!!

I am dating someone who is republican, he is a cop. I fall more democratic. I was a little worried about this at first, but it hasn't been an issue, yet. And he watches football like religiously, but it doesn't bother me too much. When we are together, I don't mind watching, too.
To Matt, I have like maybe one girlfriend. Definitely not by choice. Just my high school group fell apart and college didn't go the way I hoped and we all live in different places. I would love a squad, but now I don't know how I would build one based on my situation.

Makes me wonder if it’s because that’s how he’d behave/think/etc. (The part about people answering their own questions on IG is what stuck out to me in this video. He also often assumes people are lying or exaggerating things.)
