- One of my favorite songs, I decided to upload this because a lot of videos I found with this song didn't sound very good. I do not claim this song as my own, Eternal was produced by Evanescence and is from the album Origin.

God I'd forgotten about this song. It was one of my favourites when i was a teenager. Its such a shame Evanescence never put all their unreleased EP & Origin songs onto one large album. They would have made a killing. Their early stuff was so unique and completely awesome..
They released a vinyl box set with basically EVERYTHING. Including this piece

This song has been one of my favorites by Evanescence for over a decade now, since back when I was borderline obsessed with their late 90's / early 2000's Origin sound. Not only is this piece of absolutely gorgeous instrumental art, dripping with heavy raw moodiness, criminally underrated by the _bands fanbase_ itself - but as a whole, in general.
This song should have *millions* of views.

I think that every nu metal band has one particular gem that completely sums their mood up, usually long and melancholic, I like to call them dwindling opus's. If Evanescence had one, this would be it. This is a very strange and hopeful song, and while it doesn't sum up Evanescence specifically, it sums up the darkness and sorrow that the band is trying to instill, while at the very same time searching for more, searching for light and warmth. Limp Bizkit has Everything, Slipknot has Killers Are Quiet, Korn has Daddy, and Evanescence has this.
It's a pity then, that masterworks like this will be overlooked because of the labels on the tin. These songs may be forgotten, but they'll never be gone. Take that for what you will.

Whenever I hear the Piano portion of this song I just imagine walking through a graveyard in a thunderstorm and seeing the spirits leaves their graves and start to waltz with each other. A sad but beautiful vision to be sure.

This song has a dark atmosphere, as if it is the end of the world, of existance, or someone really close to you has been killed or has committed suicide. But that is what is so special and amazing about this great song, that dark, unsettling atmosphere. I love it! I do think though that this should be in a film or video game with a dark and unsettling atmosphere.

This track brings so much strong emotions and memories from the past. To everyone who says it’s one of Evanescence’s best song I totally agree yes it is.
Also as a writer I always found the Origin album quite inspiring, and to me this track is something special.
Since that part from 3:30 comes I imagine a dark rainy evening from the victorian era in England, a huge mansion with candles in a beautiful bedroom where a couple is making love, gently and slowly, as the rain getting stronger behind the windows…

I have, and I have thought about it a lot. I don’t know if you can actually live forever like a vampire, but I think that everyone would like to live forever. If not I don’t think that heaven would be such a draw. I could picture myself walking the Earth and eating this world’s entire creation one bit at a time, very slowly, it would be nice to have the time to study everything for as long as you wanted. Oftentimes, once we get to where we need to be to fully understand and study life it is way too late. Wouldn’t it be nice to explore everything under the Sun? and eat your fill of everything this planet has to offer?
Now I once heard that a man’s actions are what are eternal and not the man himself, and I believe that ya, that probably is true. For if you do something that is captured in a book, a television, a radio, or a computer, you will be around longer than if you just lived and nothing of your life was recorded. So this takes me to this question:
Have you ever heard a relative in your head that has already departed to the other side? Or thought an actor or musician was speaking to you through their art when you knew that they were dead? I have and I think that that is what being eternal is about. I believe that your thought pattern and spirit is caught somehow and it is used to influence or guide others, or worse, to betray them.
I know that for most the thought that only the work of art or the words of the person live on, but I would like to push it a bit further and say their personality or soul lives on in the same way that they were and how they lived.

+THOMAS million While living forever does sound amazing to do and roam the earth to this song, showing your ballad of memories and times had. But we can't really change what we have. We kinda just have to deal with it and keep going. I have realized what you have said quite recently and I am glad that I have because it seems that as we get older, the time seems to fly by quicker. First loves, school, parties slowly fade away. I don't believe in the spirit idea of yours but I do believe that everyone has their own respected opinion.
I don't believe in immorality, I just think that most of the media try to stay on the top as to seem bigger than life, as to live beyond their means. Thanks for the comment

I've been looking for this song for weeks. Didn't even know who made it, just knew it was a full instrumental from the early 2000s and I had my own poorly made piano remix recorded on my computer from 2004. I honestly started to think that it didn't actually exist 😂

Why don't they do instrumental stuff more often? Every time the instruments are prominent in a song, it sounds cool, like the guitar solo in Made of Stone or the beginning of Sick, or this song.
I know her voice is a big part of their sound, but I wouldn't mind seeing the music become a bigger part of their songs in the future.
I think it's part of the reason the band left the singer. No joke i think it was due to the singer trying to wrestle control from the band despite the band always going first, which is why some people like the earlier stuff more

I have been trying to find this song forever. I didn't know the title, I only had part of the track following pretend you love me, and no idea where it was at all. I just created a playlist of evanescence today on my phone, went through the hundreds of songs I have on my phone, picked out everything by the band and there it was, on my phone the whole time! I must have put it on my song list years ago when I took it from a cd onto an old phone amd just over the years transferred every song from phone to phone. Couldn't believe it when I found it there haha
